"Puff"

A monster body without head fell on the ground after releasing a scream before his death.

"It doesn't seem like there is a lot of monsters in this area, did they leave after killing everyone here?, Or did someone kill them?, Well, it's useless to think about this, it has nothing to do with me."

After leaving my hiding place, I headed toward the starting point in order to find a new weapons, I just hope that the other survivors didn't take them all.

After short journey, I arrived at my destination, but the scene here almost made even someone like me have the urge to puke.

The place was filled with blood, humans and monsters bodies were forming a hill from the shear numbers, the internal organs and the body parts of both the races were everywhere, this scene was the most gruesome thing I ever seen in my life.

After few seconds, my frown quickly relaxed.

"Well, this is the law of this place, the strong eat the weak, the quicker I adapt the better."

After a little sigh, I got rid of the only monster I found in this place, he was busy munching an arm, so he was easily delt with.

Unfortunately, the moment I slice the head of the monster, the sword broke down, but it's fine because it's accomplished his goal.

'Goodbye sword-kun, may your iron body rest in peace.'

After brief farewell to my dear sword, I quickly throw it away since it becomes useless.

Fortunately, there were plenty of weapons left here, I found a good sword with it's sheath.

Besides that I found a belt which can help me hold the sword.

I tore some clothes from the dead bodies on the ground in order to carry the daggers I will use since I couldn't find anything that could help me hold them.

I also found 8 bags of food which was a welcome suprise, but an unfortunate one since carrying them will only slow me down.

As I was complementing on how to deal with the food Dilmma, I heard a fighting noises from a far.

After few seconds of me thinking about the pros and cons of making contact with other people, I decided to head there.

There's nothing for me to lose, if they aware of the current situation, they shouldn't be hostile to me, and maybe they could be useful for my future plans after arriving at the continent.

But if they were malice, then I will have no choice other than.....

As I moved closer to the source of the noise, I noticed that it's a fight between a group of three men and several monsters.

Their cooperation may not be perfect, but it was enough to deal with this monsters, the guy with the shield was holding several monsters in place, the Swordsman and spearman were dealing with them from the sides.

They knew that the monsters were sensitive to sound, so to get their attention, the shield guy was hitting his shield with his sword.

The spear holder didn't seem to used wielding a spear, and his hands trembled.

As he stabbed a monster rushing at the shield guy, the spear fell out of my hands.

But then shield guy finished it with a slam of his shield.

The monsters seems to come in their way after they killed one of them, but it's looks like the Swordsman was quite capable as he dashed toward the approaching monsters.

Using his high agility, the Swordsman was avoiding every strike and cut down enemies with precision.

From far away it seemed simple, but in practice it wasn't simple at all.

" It looks like I met an expert."

The swordsman movements were amazing and the way he handle the sword tells me that he is an expert with a lot of experience.

Maybe because the rise of my stats, my eyesight improved, so I was able to look at the appearance of this group, and imagine my surprise when I found out that they were the same people I saw at the starting point.

After they finished fighting, I approached them while making sure to make my presence known, so to avoid any kind of misunderstanding.

But before that, using [Absolute hypnosis] I adjusted my status window the way I wanted, since I know that Lee kiyoung will scan me using his ability.

As I made my way towards them, the corners of my mouth couldn't help but curve up with hint of interest and amusement.

"I'm really looking forward to his reaction, and future action toward me."

Once I was near them, I was able to hear their conversation.

"Ah, there are fewer monsters than I expected around this starting point area."

"Maybe he cleared this area before."

"You mean Kim Hyunsung?"

"Yea. There's a lot of food here, but it seems like no one survived… Well, if there were survivors, there would be no food left."

"I didn't really think the three of us would be enough to secure resources from the starting point."

"You helped a lot."

"No, I didn't do much, did I? It's all thanks to that guy."

"No, it's not only thanks to him. If not for you, it would've been much harder for us to get here."

It's looks like they were occupied by watching the fight between the Swordsman and the remaining monsters since they were unable to notice me even after I made a little noise on my way here.

Well, I just have to speak to them so I they won't be wary of me, but before that I used my ability [Absolute hypnosis] once again when they were within my range.

Using my ability, I adjusted my expression to be that of calm and approaching man, and I made sure to change their senses towards me in order to lower their guard.

"Excuse me, are you the only survivors here."

As soon as I spoke, the two of them jumped in scared manner before turning to face me.

"Who are you?, How can you sneak on us without us even noticing."

They put their weapons in front of them, so they can be ready in case there's conflict.

I raised my hand to show them that I have no malice.

"Well, you don't have to be wary of me, I mean no harm."

"Who are you?."

They are still vigilant even after using my ability, which make sense since I wasn't professional in using yet.

"My name is Ayanokouji kiyotaka, and like you, I am also a survivor."

I noticed that the guy called Lee kiyoung looks at me with strange eyes, which made me conclude that he most likely used his ability to inspect my status window, but unfortunately he will only see what I want him to see.

"I don't think that you are a simple survivor, since you were able to stay alive alone in this kind of place."

Lee kiyoung seems to recover from his daze, and he started to question me about my origin.

"Well, I was able to find a good place to hide, and started to hunt the stray monsters that separate from the group in order to increase my stats."

As I was telling him my story, I made sure to observe his expression and body language.

My goal was to find the extension of his ability.

Can it only view the status window?, Or is it able to know the truth about a person?, Can it tell the truth from the lies?.

That's why I was mixing the truth and lies and it seems that he believed me to some extent judging from his small head nod.

"And so I noticed that this area doesn't seem to have a lot of monsters, so I came here in order to see if I can gain anything?"

'good.'

It looks like he quite believed what I said, so it seems that his ability only allows him to see the status window of the others.

But it's quite remarkable ability if it used right.

"So, now after you finished my interrogation, can you introduce yourself."

His face show a little embarrassment and hesitation, and the big guy next to him turn his head toward Lee kiyoung waiting for his answer.

' does he trusts him to handle this situation, or was Lee kiyoung able to make him submit, it looks like he's using his ability to gather allies to fight for him, the shield guy here and the Swordsman over there are quite capable, are they the only ones or is there more?.'

After slight hesitation, he opened his mouth and said

"My name is Lee kiyoung and the one next to me called Park Deokgu, we are here to see if there is any food left here."

A simple and a carful answer is what came out of his mouth, I can see that he is still vigilant towards me by the way he tighten his grip on the spear, probably because he saw my stats, he grew out to be a bit wary of me.

But what he didn't know was that all he sees is what I want, a lie I fabricated in order to see his reaction and study his future action.

This experience also allowed me to realize that I shouldn't relay on my ability too much.

What if one day it didn't work, will I be vulnerable for depending on it so much?.

And this further strengthen my resolve toward making this power my own.

'only the power you control is your own.'

My thoughts flashed through my mind but my expression was still calm without any waves.

I continue to ask him the question I wanted to know.

"Are the only ones who survived or are there others?."

"Well, actually...."

As he was about to answer my question, he suddenly start to stare blankly in front of him, probably a message appeared in front of him.

As I was about to wake him up from his daze, I heard a footsteps sounds, so I turned my head and I was met with face of the Swordsman.

Only one thought flashed through my mind the moment I saw him.

' he's too handsome to be a man.'
