Offer

When Myalis finished buying a few snacks, she placed them in her bag and sat down on a bench beside the shop to eat one since she was hungry.

As the place was getting dark, Myalis looked up at the setting sun and smiled before getting up and placing her bag on her back.

The girl began walking to get to the bridge and sensed that the person was still following her and she wanted to know why and whether he or she was the one that shot the arrow toward her and Yuna earlier.

Before Myalis could leave the city, she entered a dark alleyway and came to a stop.

"Are you the one who summoned that beast within the city the other night?" She asked and the person appeared behind her.

"So you knew I was following you, nice, why should I answer your question?" The person asked and she turned around and smiled at him.

"Because if you don't and try to hurt me, I will kill you," She said with a gentle smile on her face and his brows furrowed.

"You seem like the crazy type, fine, if you don't want me to kill you, how about I make you an offer?" He asked and her eyes narrowed.

"What kind of offer?" She asked.

"You seem like a crazy type, join my team and your life will be spared for interfering in our business the other night," He responded with a smirk appearing on his face.

Myalis stared at him, then she exhaled deeply "Earlier today at the academy, were you the one that shot an arrow at me and my friend?"

He looked at her after she asked him then he nodded and she approached him, then patted him on his shoulder before walking past him and he looked back at her.

"Do you want the invitation to join us or not?" He asked then she came to a halt.

"Sure, give it to me," She said then he pulled out a card and handed it to her and she looked at the magical marking on it and smiled.

"Do I just pass my hand on this or something?" She asked and he chuckled.

"Since I have been successful in recruiting you, yes, pass your hand on the words, then call the name that you see on it, someone will come to get you," He responded as she looked at the lotus marking on the card and the symbol within it.

"Well, I guess I now work for your master, was he the one who summoned the beast?" She asked.

"One of his minions, I will see you another time, consider your life spare," He responded then disappeared and Myalis walked away.

"We will see about that," She mumbled as a smirk appeared on her face and left the city.

When Myalis arrived on the island, she saw that the chief of the police force was there and she scoffed when she saw the woman.

"You don't seem pleased to see me at all," She said and Calris chuckled as the kids rushed to Myalis.

"I have no problem with you," Myalis replied as she patted the kids on their heads.

"Kida, come on, leave her be and go inside," Lilian said.

"Welcome home," They said before rushing inside and Myalis chuckled.

She approached the chief as well as Calris and Lilian and they looked at her.

"What are you doing here chief?" She asked.

"I came here to talk to Calris about a body we found earlier today, seems like it was one of those who had something to do with the beast in the city, he was brutally killed," She responded and Myalis sighed.

"Why one problem to the next? I don't like this," Myalis mumbled and the chief was about to pat her on the shoulder, but Myalis grabbed onto her hand and the chief looked at her.

"Please don't," Myalis said.

"Sensitive much, tell me, were you approached by anyone connected to the beast attack as well as the dead body?" The chief asked as Myalis were about to walk away.

Myalis looked back at the chief and a smirk appeared on her face.

"Seraphina, were you?" Calris asked.

"What if I was?" She asked and Calris sighed.

"Did they hurt you?" Lilian asked.

"No, don't worry, I am fine," She responded and Lilian sighed in relief.

"Seraphina, this is very serious, there might be things going on in the shadows that could affect us all, this city as well as others, if you know something, I am asking you to tell me," The chief said and Myalis exhaled deeply.

"Fine, I was approached by one of them, he came to kill me but then said I must be one of the crazy types, so he made an offer, I was sort of recruited," She responded and they left staring at her.

"If you didn't accept he would have killed you?" Lilian asked.

"I wouldn't have let that happen, though I don't know more than that," She responded.

The chief sighed before looking up at the sky, knowing that Myalis could be in danger if the situation gets worse.

"Seraphina, what do you plan on doing? You did accept it," The chief said and Myalis smiled.

"We can talk about this over dinner chief, I am getting hungry again, I will go freshen up first," She replied and the chief chuckled.

"You are something else kid, you like taking risks," She said and Myalis smiled before going to her room to freshen up and the others went to the dining room to prepare for dinner.

Myalis sat down on her bed in her room and placed her bag down, then looked at the card while thinking about what she should do next.

She knew that it was a dangerous situation, but at the time, the danger was not the only thing bothering her, she knew that now that she was recruited, they would come for her to do jobs.

The girl sighed and placed the card away, then went to freshen up since she wanted to clear her head.
