"THEY HAVE COME"

"Get ready its time for war, As for you, your name is Belus right? I'll remember that and that face of yours" General Zeian said as he looked at Belus with disdain and disgust in his eye's.

General Zeian released killing intent as he left to fight the enemies who have arrived. The killing intent was directed at Belus to let him know that he isn't off of the hook.

Belus knew that the killing intent General Zeian released was to let him know that he will be dealt with when he came back. Belus realized that General Zeian is not only corrupt but he would go out of his way to hurt him a mere commoner.

I will leave this village before he comes back and head to the capital. I need to ensure the safety of my wife and kids first and foremost so I can not die at the hand of this scum. Belus thought to himself as he looked into the distance where General Zeian was headed.

"Hey Benelix go and retrieve your daughter while these soilders get busy with the war. Staying in this village any longer will only bring our families harm if General Zeian returns. I know that everything you own is here but what is the point of having anything if we are going to end up dead..." Belus said seriously to Benelix who seemed to be in a state of confusion as the war sirens got louder and louder.

Belus slapped Benelix face lightly to wake him up from his confusion. "Did you hear me?"

The slap was able to wake up Benelix from his confused state and looked at Belus with tears in his eye's. Benelix is forever grateful for having a brother like Belus, no one is more willing to do more for him than Belus.

"Thank you Belus you are a true brother, I will go get my daughter please be careful and sorry for troubling you if it wasn't for me you won't have a target on your back." Benelix said to Belus and couldn't help but feel emotional looking at Belus.

Benelix bowed to Belus and headed toward the prison where the soilders held the captives at. The soilders were all scrambling to get their gear ready and weapons to prepare for the on coming war so they didn't have much time to see after the peasants who were jailed for not paying taxes.

The near by villagers also hurried into the prison to release their children that have been held captive.

"We will be at the capital" Belus shouted at Benelix in the distance.

"We will be right behind you" Benelix said as he turned around to see his brother go.

Belus took the carriage hurried back to his home to go grab his wife and children. Belus left Benelix to get his daughter knowing Benelix he would have no problems in getting his daughter.

The trip to going back home took about the same amount of time it took to get to the West Tower. Belus hurried into his home only to see that Selins had already packed everything.

"Selins have you prepared food rations? Are the kids still at their aunt's house?" Belus asked quickly as he looked around the house worriedly.

"The boys are home i grabbed them earlier when I first heard the sirens of war. The boys are grabbing their clothes and what little they have from upstairs as for everything else is already ready. We will head to the capital where my uncle lives and stay with him until the war settles down a little more then we will come back ok?" Selins said as she began to put what little supplies they had inside the carriage.

Selins has an uncle who lived in the capital city Celtia as he is a very known to be a wealthy merchant. Selins hoped that her uncle will atleast help them in these hard uncertain times but nothing is guaranteed.

"I was headed to the capital either way, with his help or not ill figure out somthing." Belus said agitated by Selins mentioning her uncle.

Belus didn't like Selins uncle, when Belus married Selins his father in law and her uncle were very opposed to it becuase he did not have any background or magic. They called him trash and bullied him when ever they got the chance to when Selins wasn't around hoping that he will leave her. Belus knew they weren't good people and might take advantage of him if they see that he is desperate and that is the last thing Belus wanted.

Belus packed everything in the carriage with Selins and prepared everything. What seemed like a long time was actually short as only minutes have passed by. Belus headed upstairs to get his two boys only to see that both reluctant to part away from this home. The sadness could be seen on Kenlus face as this is the room that he would always train in.

"Kenlus don't worry we will be back shortly we will be only gone temporarily ok? Zena you as well we will only be gone temporarily so there is no need to be saddened by this. The both of you are brothers and no matter what happens promise me this you both will take care of each other. In times like these is when family can rely on each other." Belus reassured both of his son's that they will only be gone temporarily from this home. The two boy's still had a saddned expression on their faces but both boy's nodded their heads at their father.

Kenlus was able to understand what his father was saying and nodded his head with determination.

Zena the younger boy was saddned but didn't understand why, as he seen his brother Kenlus saddned by leaving this home. Zena is an adorable child, all of the older women loved this boy as his cheeks and face were subtle and cute.

Kenlus is older than Zena by two years and could be said that he was much more mature for his age than most kids around him. After the Redstone ceremony testing where one tested their talent and skills in how talented they were in Magic Qi and Spiritual Qi.

Kenlus came out to have more afinity toward magic like his mother before him. Zena hadn't performed the redstone ceremony as he wasn't of age, he will need two more years. Zena had already shown signs toward magic as Kenlus taught him basic spells for beginners and he was able to master those spells.

"Belus the horses are ready come on let's go we can't keep wasting time here please hurry lets go" Selins said worriedly as she could hear the sirens have gotten louder indicating that the enemies were getting closer.

"ok let's go" Belus carried his two boy's luggage that they have packed together. Belus headed downstairs as he could see the worried expression on Selins face as the sirens have gotten louder and louder.

Belus tied the horses to the carriage for a family as small as his he will only need two horses. Belus instead grabbed all six horses that were in his barn. The six horses will also help along the way as he could sell the extra horses he had in near by towns to help feed his family along the journey toward the capital.

Selins got on the carriage and pulled her two boy's up and puts them in the back of the carriage.

"Heeeyaa!" Belus pulled on the ropes that the horses have been tied with to get a move on.

Selins looked at her home as it was getting further and further away, with reluctance in her eyes to part ways with it. This is the home that her and Belus stayed in and made a family together in.

My how fast time flys by before we knew it Zena had already turned seven and Kenlus is now nine years old. This is the home that they both had grew up in and where me and Belus made this place our home. Hopefully you will not be destroyed by the war. Selins thought to her self as her eyes reddened with sadness.

After some time on the main road Belus decided to take a diffrent route to the capital as the main road might be more dangerous due to the increased traffic and bandits taking advantage of the vulnerability of desperate families. Bandits would usually rob every once in a while if they see a fancy carriage someone who isn't ordinary, but even small carriages for peasants weren't out of the question for these bandits.

"Selins we will be taking this route as it will be safer and we could camp out when we need to and would have to only worry about the small amount of wild animals in the forest instead of the bandits from the other side." Belus said to Selins as he had the horses take the other direction

"Just be careful, untraditional roads aren't paved that well" Selins said as she nodded her head and understood that it will be the safer bet to take an untraditional route as the bandits won't camp at areas that people will most likely not take.

"hey how long have we been on the road for Belus?" Selins asked Belus as she yawned from feeling fatigued, if one looked closer you could see the dark bags under her eye's from the lack of sleep.

"About two day's now" Belus said as he yawned while focusing on the road with his red eye's.

Selins could see the tiredness on her husband's face and couldn't help but suggest to stop and camp near by for them to get some rest.

"The boys are getting tired, we will set up camp here next to the river. Belus we have been traveling for about two day's non stop. The water can be restocked and we will be able to wash ourselves for the time being" Selins said as she pointed at a river near by.

Belus knew the main route to the capital would have taken a shorter amount of time. Belus valued safety over speed, he had to ensure that both his wife and boy's can make it to the capital safely.

"Ok we will camp over here. you set up the tent and I'll go find scraps of wood to lite up a fire. Selins prepare some food for us as we need the energy if we are going to making only short stops as it is better to get it over with faster." Belus said to his wife on what they need to do and lets her know this will only be a short rest stop and they will continue on their journey toward the capital as soon as everyone has rested enough.

Selins grabbed the equipment from the carriage and started to set up the tent for the family and got the food prepared. Belus got the dry wood scraps and lite up a fire to cook the dry beans rations they had.

Belus decided to head toward a near by boulder to rest, if anything suspicious happens he will know right away. looking onto the sun setting deep emotions ran through Belus mind as this was his first time having an emergency situation like this happen. Belus mind for now was set on keeping his family safe and getting to the capital safely.

[whoosh!] [whoosh!] [whoosh!]

Belus woke up instantly with his eyes wide open as he heard somthing in the bushes near by the tent. Belus grabbed onto his dagger that was by his waistline and held onto to it firmly.

Belus slowly approached the bushes where he had heard the noise coming from.
