"who's there?" Belus shouted toward the bushes as he held his dagger firmly ready to stab what ever will come out of it.

"honey what's wrong, why are you shouting? it's the middle of the night" Selins said as she walked out the tent rubbing her eyes as she stretched.

"Get back inside quickly Selins" Belus said quietly as he gestured with left hand for Selins to get back in the tent.

"" Belus shouts out once more towards the bushes with his hand on the dagger. Belus looks around the bushes that are near by the tent and sees nobody around it. Belus still is on high alert incase if it was a bandit or somthing he will be able to buy enough time for his family if it is a bandit for them to get on the carriage and leave.

Did i miss hear somthing or was it just the wind blowing hard. there are no high winds for it make such noises Belus thinks to himself.

Belus moves closer towards the bushes while moving cautiously as a single mistake could cost him his life if it a bandit in hiding. The worst kind of threat to anybody is not knowing what the threat is.

"Selins make sure the kids stay asleep I'm going to check out what's in those bushes over there." Belus says to Selins in a whispering voice incase if there is a bandit that she will be able to prepare to leave.

Belus slowly opens the bushs and leans more towards the right side to avoid a head on attack. Belus points the dagger towards the opening he is making in case of an attack he will be able to attack it faster or defend himself with the dagger.

Belus can see green eyes where he opened up the bushes at and can see the lizard like scales around its eyes.

"God dammit it was just an adult lizard he doesnt look like the poisonous type. Hey Selins I think we got our selves a nice meal for tomorrow." Belus fills with excitement as he can taste meat again on this journey it's very rare to have meat and to see animals around these areas as the spiritual density is very weak in this region and animals like to avoid these types of areas only leaving plants, fruits and vegetables to be mostly grown in these regions.

Belus lounges with the dagger stabbing the lizard right on its head. A shadow raises up from the animal and vanishes. Belus didn't think to much of it as he found it strange. Belus grabs the lizard by its tail and guts it out and proceeds to skin it as well clean it to prepare it for a good meal tomorrow.

"Selins look what I got a nice slab of meat for tomorrow's meal hahaha. We will eat good tomorrow dont say your man isnt capable. I'm quite capable arent I" Belus starts to laugh while dangling the lizard in front of his wife.

"put it into this wooden box I will cast a chilling spell to keep the meat fresh. Belus you only thought about eating it tomorrow now tell me without me around how were you supposed to keep that meat from not rotting until then since you are so capable." Selins puts her hand on her mouth and starts to giggle at how idoitic her husband looks.

Belus doesnt have any magic capability while his wife is well renowned for her magic. The day from birth till now Belus wasn't able to have any affinity to spiritual power in the environment resulting in him being a rare commodity as being a trash human. it's a one in a ten thousand where a child wont be born with any magic or spiritual qi. As one would rather be homeless then be this unfortunate and Belus was one of these. But this didnt stop him from living a normal life even if he was bullied he would always stand up and fight for himself and what he believes in.

what Selins said hit a soft spot as you could see it in his facial reaction that he wasn't to pleased that she brought up the fact he couldn't use any magic. usally people who couldnt produce any magic are pretty much crippled. magic and spiritual qi are one in the same. wizards use magic qi in the environment to convert them into energy particles that suit their affinity such as fire and water etc. while spiritual qi can be used directly by some they are called warriors that use it to strengthen their body's beyond human capabilities something wizards cant do.

"forget I even said that Belus I didnt mean it to hurt you I was just trying to put you down a notch before you start boasting about yourself" Selins felt really bad from the inside saying that to her husband as she knew she hurt him with what she said.

"it's fine Selins, thank the gods that our two boys arent like me and can use magic qi." Belus was always happy when he learned of the fact that his two boys arent like him and they both can use magic qi.

Magic qi is more common to people than spiritual qi. Spiritual qi is much rarer than magic qi is and if you have more than thirty percent affinity towards spiritual qi you would be recruited in the army right away as the empire values people with spiritual qi as they could block attacks from wizards with there phyical body and only one gold rank warrior can diamante a whole village.

Spiritual qi is more abundant in the environment than magic qi. Warriors can replenshish their lost energy much faster than wizards can as the magic qi in the environment is always low.

"it's ok we had enough for today let's go back and rest. We need to be well rested for our journey tomorrow" Selins heads back to the tent to get her self rested for the long days they are going to have to face from now on.

Belus decides to head back towards the boulder that he was resting on earlier. Belus knows he needs rest to keep moving on forward towards the Celtia main the City of Niamo where Selins uncle lives. Belus starts remmbering his past where he would get bullied on the streets or in the orphange. Belus only friend was Benelix as both of them were deemed trash by society. Mostly everyone who lives in the outskirts are deemed country bumbkins and trash by the people in the inner kingdom.

Celtia is a human race empire that rules over twn kingdoms. Everyone who resides in these kingdlms dont like interactions with other species like the elves and animals as they are looked down upon. The kingdom that Belus resides in is called Finna kingdom where is located in the puter empire. The Finna kingdom is known as the trash Kingdom among all the other kingdoms as they rule the outer empire.

Belus starts thinking about the past and what has happened from his childhood until now. I only know how to protect my wife and children with a dagger I'm not a real man at all. my wife is much more capable than me and she will most likely be able to handle a situation if any presented itself. but what will that make of me as a man. I'm nothing but a laughable trash. I always wonder why she stayed with me and always asked her as the answer would always be the same it's because she loves me. But how can anyone love a cripple such as myself if a copper level one in elementary can kill me with ease. I'm such a disgrace to my family and my two boys will have to grow up knowing their father is a disgrace and trash to society.

Belus starts to doze off thinking of who he is and the past that always haunts him of being a cripple for life. Anyman who doesnt feel like a man no longer when they cant protect whats close to them.

A carriage slowly aprocachs where the tent that Selins and Belus have set up as the sun rising started to light up the land.

" who might that be. enemies?" Belus looks onto the carriage that looks familiar from the distance.

"Hoyyyy, Belus we finally caught up to you we are headed for the capital we wont be making any stops" Benelix gets exicted from seeing Belus on the alternative route instead kf heading on the main road.

Belus recognizes the voice from anywhere its Benelix. out of all the people he could have met he met Benelix on this route.

"hahaha, dear friend I will see you there I see your daughter is safe and well." Belus looks at the carriage and sees his brothers daughter seemingly safe. which help relax Belus from the earlier troubles that he and Benelix had encountered.

" I'll see you there Belus we are going to continue our route we need to get as far away from the war as possible its getting closer and closer towards this road i herd sirens from the distance" Benelix lets Belus know that the war is approaching closer towards the territory that they are currently in and they need to get a move on.

"I understand Benelix no worries, i will see you in the city of Niamo" Belus says his goodbyes to his friend as he knows he can not make a full stop and sit and chatter as the war is getting closer to where they are.

Belus lays on the grass for about an hour or so and starts to doze off without him even knowing it. Belus was planing to eaor up Selins and the kids so they can head right away towards the journey. Belus for some reason feels very fatigued and can understand why he keeps shutting his eyes.

"hey how long are you going to be asleep for" a man in a dark purple cloak says to Belus in a calm and evil why.

Belus awaken right away and tries to move right away but couldnt move as there is a knife on his neck.

"what the fuck is going on I fall asleep for no reason" and all this happens. Belus starts to hear muffled screaming and looks to his left his eyes open as wide as it could as a tear drop fell.....
