1 Colossal Monsters and Monster Dens (updated)

As Ye Fan pondered the marvels of Blue Star, he couldn't help but think, "This world... it's like a dream, a breathtaking dream that I never thought could be real. The skies, the landscapes, the seven moons... it's all so overwhelming." His voice held a hint of wonder, reflecting the awe that had enveloped him.

These celestial bodies, each comparable in size to Earth or even larger, orbited the colossal planet with a grace and majesty that left Ye Fan in a state of awe. "And those seven moons, each with its own unique character... I wonder what secrets they hold. How do they shape the world beneath them? How do they intertwine with the powers of the awakened?" How did they affect the planet's tides, their ebb and flow guided by the gravitational pulls of the moons? How did they influence the weather patterns, creating a symphony of meteorological phenomena that defied the predictability of Earth?

Each moon had its unique size, luminance, and orbit, casting its radiant reflections upon the planet's surface, bathing the land in a surreal, multicolored glow. With the day fading and the experiment subjects still in their slumber, Ye Fan's excitement grew. Furthermore, Ye Fan pondered did the moons hold secrets or properties that could amplify or modify the abilities of those who had undergone Awakening?

"From what I've known, a few ancient races revere these moons as Gods, even some humans believe the same." Ye Fan pondered the existence of fanatical groups and numerous organizations that propagated faith. Before the reiki revival, many dismissed the notion of gods as mere myths. However, with the resurgence of reiki, some of these fanatics gained power or acquired special talents connected to the deities they worshipped. Furthermore, there are those who resort to using humans as sacrifices to appease the Gods and amplify their strength. Despite the prohibition against such practices, some individuals still engage in these rituals.

Moreover, humans are not the sole intelligent race on Blue Star. Even before the reiki revival, the planet boasted multiple intelligent races, some dwelling in oceans, others near volcanoes, deserts, ice lands, or mountains. Due to the expansive landscape, conflicts among the races were relatively scarce in the past. However, with the reiki revival, individual strength skyrocketed to unimaginable levels. Over the last 400 years, numerous instances of wars erupted between different races, fueled by the newfound and formidable capabilities of individuals.

But the most dangerous is the presence of colossal monsters. These massive creatures were unlike anything he had ever encountered on Earth or even in his virtual gaming experiences, their very presence dominating the landscape. Some of them were so massive that they could be mistaken for living mountains, with bodies that stretched high into the sky, and their sheer enormity left anyone who beheld them in a state of profound wonder.

Their bodies were a fusion of organic and inorganic elements, giving them an otherworldly appearance. They had bony exoskeletons that were as hard as steel, adorned with iridescent patterns that glimmered like precious gemstones under the planet's brilliant, multifaceted suns.

These creatures moved with a graceful lethargy that defied their size, as if time itself were in no rush in their presence. Their colossal limbs, like colossal tree trunks, supported their immense weight and were equipped with enormous, clawed appendages that dug deep into the ground, leaving furrows in their wake. For the inhabitants of Blue Star, these behemoth creatures were a source of both reverence and trepidation. They had earned a place in the mythology and folklore of the planet, with many tales talking about their origins and significance. Unlike, humans and other intelligent races most monsters grow in size with the increase in their evolutionary level.

The origin of these monsters is unique; while some are merely mutants of existing animals from before the reiki revival, a significant 70% of these creatures trace their roots to special restricted areas or result from unique phenomena that occurred post-reiki revival. Humans commonly refer to these areas as Monster Dens. These monsters can be found all over Blue Star, spanning from Tier-1 creatures to transcendental beings and beyond.

According to scientists, these monsters originate from large rune areas that began manifesting randomly across Blue Star following the reiki revival. These special runes are typically concealed, acting as the catalyst for transforming an area into a monster den. They spawn monsters at regular intervals, the frequency dictated by the strength of the creatures they generate. If left unaddressed and not destroyed in due time, these runes have the potential to escalate into a disaster.

There exist millions of monster dens on Blue Star, birthing innumerable monsters and giving rise to an independent ecosystem. In this vast and chaotic network of monster dens, humans and other intelligent races are but mere inhabitants, navigating the challenges posed by this intricate and tumultuous environment.

These monsters have unleashed an unprecedented catastrophe upon unprepared mankind, leading to centuries of extinction crises. Over time, humans have learned to adapt to the current environment, discovering special rune areas that give birth to unique monsters and even encountering low-level intelligent monster groups. Nevertheless, humans no longer hold the position of hegemons on Blue Star.

Some humans have mastered the art of harnessing these monsters to enhance their strength in diverse ways. They use them to create alchemical medicines, become beast tamers, or extract their bloodline for self-improvement, boosting their own lineage and potential. Skilled craftsmen have unlocked the secrets of using monster parts to forge exceptionally powerful weapons, sought after for their unique properties.

Energy extraction from monsters, particularly harvesting cores or essences, has given rise to the creation of energy crystals. These crystals serve as potent power sources for a range of applications, from machinery to advanced technologies. Specialized farms cultivate controlled populations of low-level monsters for various purposes, providing resources, acting as testing grounds for aspiring warriors, or serving as entertainment arenas where skilled fighters clash with monsters.

Humans have developed means of transportation that involve tamed or controlled monsters, offering swift and unconventional travel methods. These innovations, among many others, signify the diverse ways in which humans have adapted to and exploited the presence of monsters on Blue Star.

Additionally, certain monsters, upon their demise, leave behind talent stones that can be utilized by humans and others to acquire additional talents. While the likelihood is low, there will always be instances of obtaining these talent stones when hundreds are slain. Some individuals even utilize monster dens as locations to gather talent stones—after all, who wouldn't want to acquire more talents to enhance their strength?

Ye Fan couldn't help but marvel at the coexistence of such magnificent creatures and the inherent danger they posed. It was a world where beauty and peril coexisted, where every corner of the planet held secrets waiting to be discovered.
