6 Welcome To New Generation

We walk in and the building isn't as big on the inside as you would think. Sky leads me to an elevator and we walk down an unnecessarily long hall. I start to complain in my head because complaining out loud will make me seem childish. Sky stops suddenly, does his pivot thing and motions for me to stop walking.

"What?" I ask.

"You are about to meet The Light." He says mysteriously and I instantly perk up. "However, not in person."

"What?" I ask all the eagerness draining out of me, knowing that he jazzed it on purpose.

"It's more so...the voice of The Light." He says thinking about it. "This is kind of what I was trying to explain to you earlier."

"So The Light is disembodied?" I ask.

"Like I said, it's hard to explain."

I roll my eyes and shake my head. "You suck at explaining everything.

"That's not my fault."

"Whatever."

"After you leave from there, the first thing we're doing is working on your people skills."

"Wait I have to stay with you?" I say surprised.

"Is that so bad?"

I don't respond, instead I sigh, shake my head, and enter the room.

"Later!" He calls and I hear him trail off somewhere.

When I enter the room it's completely empty except for a ball of light the size of of basketball. So when they said "The Light" they literally meant a light.

"Hello." I say.

"Hello, Kayano. Or should I say child of prophecy." The Light says and the voice sounds really familiar. However, I can't put my finger on it, so I figure if I can't remember then it's probably irrelevant.

"What makes me the prophet child? Why am I so special?"

"Sit Kayano this is a long story." The Light says and I listen.

The Light says that a long time ago a prophet was made by Nebula, Nova's mother, saying that one day a threat would fall upon the universe and that only one person would be able to stop it. It was said that on her third birthday her homeland would be attacked and that was the time when New Generation would need to come for her. Three years after the prophecy was made she would survive a bombing and Nova would be responsible for claiming her. This threat went by the name of Chaos. Chaos was an unknown life form that fell from the sky and because there was no proof of his existence he was deemed a "Scientific Miscalculation." But New Generations has been keeping tabs on him for a while now and he's Evolved into a very powerful and strong life-form that can manipulate mother nature herself. Chaos takes the form of a human, but no one knows exactly what he looks like the only person who can detect him is the prophet child. And that prophet child is me.

"So now do you understand?" The Light says.

"Oh yeah definitely, it totally makes sense that someone fell out of the sky and is trying to kill everyone."

The Light made a sound similar to that of a sigh, but she didn't have a face so I would never know for sure.

"I mean concerning the situation. What we're dealing with is not something we just made

"Of course, but why would you keep it a secret?" I ask.

"Because we felt that if you knew you wouldn't want to cooperate." The Light says and I swear I hear guilt in her disembodied voice.

"But I do have one thing to say. If you knew that the bombing was going to happen...why didn't you save my mother." I say and The Light doesn't answer.

"Would you believe me if I said she wasn't dead?" The Light asks.

"I...don't know." I say. "What evidence do you have that says so?"

"This is another thing you'll just have to trust and believe." The Light says.

"You know I'm really getting sick and tired of hearing that." I say annoyed "I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told Sky, if I'm so important than just tell me what's happening!"

"It's all in due-"

"No it's not! Do you know what I've been through? The fact that you keep hiding things and lying to me makes me not want to cooperate! Tell me where my mother is!"

"Look Kayano, I understand that you're upset but please believe that your mother is safe."

"You'd better be telling the truth." I say sighing. "Just tell me what you need me to do?"

The Light explains that first I'll need to register, get an ID, blah blah blah. A bunch of other stuff that I don't really care about. Then she said something about settling in and making myself at home, so cringey. Then she told me that if I needed anything ask someone. She said specific names but I wasn't really paying attention. I'm still not over the fact that my mother is out there and all they can tell me is "she's safe", to me that's not enough.

"Thanks." I say and walk out without saying anything else.

After exiting the room I realize that I have no idea where to go from this point. At first I look around and don't really see anything but a bunch of doors and I think about walking through one of them, but what if it's something in there that I have no business seeing. Or worse, what if someone's in there like, naked or something. I removed the thought and decided that maybe I could retrace my steps so I walked down the hall that I originally came from, but instead found Sky waiting at the end. We had both rounded the corner and practically bumped into each other.

"Oh, Kayano." he says. "Hey."

"Were you standing here the whole time?" I ask.

"No I just got off the elevator." he says.

"Yeah right." I say not believing him for a second. "Where do I go to register?"

"Glad that you asked." He says. "Follow me."
