17 Hey, Author Speaking
To my current and future readers
I am the Author, I wish to offer a certain insight to my readers and offer a few points as we go further into the story, about me, Valerian and the direction the story will take.
Currently, I am the only writer and editor for this book that will have mulitple volumes that aim for different aims, goals and ideas, some, mortal, immortal, moral and immoral, others violent and peaceful.
I cannot reveal anything about the Traveller yet but he will not be the only protagonist in our story.
A while back, I started a different Webnovel and found it lacking.
There was a need for massive time skips, character development for characters that would not matter as well as too much use of plot armour for a our main protagonist even though he was supposed to be overpowered.
In the grand scheme of things, the start of the novel was irritating to me as the author and it took some time while I was sick and stuck in bed to see that.
I made a focus group and created a Q&A on my instagram to better develop the story of our former emperor Val.
They may seem like minor spoilers but I promise you, the answers to these questions play a minor role or have already been exposed.
1. Q: How old is Valerian?
A: Lord Jata stopped caring for his age after the sun went from blue to yellow. So quite old.
2: Q: How do people become [Alpha] rank?
A: [Alpha] rank is not easily obtained. No simple inheritance, bloodline or being can make it to [Alpha] rank.
One needs to have already been powerful in their early years, at least [SS] before hitting puberty and they still may not be able to break the ceiling at [SSS] rank.
It would take effort that spans eons and transcend the knowledge of the Universe itself. They gain true omniscience, true omnipotence and true omniprescence.
3: Q: If Valerian is an absolute being then why does he sometimes struggle to keep his subordinates like Uriel in check?
A: Valerian was not always indifferent. He has had many different changes over the course of his life and his subordinates have only seen two.
One was malevolent and the other was benevolent, this is the first time he has chosen a persona that is indifferent to lesser beings.
He has always been a hero or a villian depending on who you ask so his subordinates are acting on the actions of the past, the old method of operation, something that annoys our protagonist but he understands because that it is not as easy for them to change as it is for him.
4: Q: How cruel is Valerian and does that change?
A: The persona,Valerian is not cruel, Samael is. He does everything for a reason. He adopted a sense of indifference for a reason, he wants this to be his final persona but he loves his family, old and new but he believes in tough love too.
5: Q: How long will this novel be?
A: I do not know. As long as there is a demand, there will be Valerian.
6: Q: What weaknesses does Valerian have?
A: His sense of right and wrong. He overcame a lot when he was young and struggles with understanding the weakness in others. He went from being alone and weak to being powerful and worshipped.
There was no "growing strong together". He was alone for a long time and the people he considers friends can be counted on one hand. His first, out of character act was considering Peter as a ward. Let me knoow if you think that should change, lol.
7: Q: Will he be one of those MC's who do everything for a woman/women?
A: Val does not care muchfor gender, he cares about strength, intelligence and wisdom. A pretty face will not affect him, there has to be a clear benefit to him or the ones he cares about.
8: Q: Will we see a softer side to Valerian?
A: Absolutely. He is far from heartless...hehehe, I smile because I know.
9: Q: Is there really a system?
A: Yes there is.
10: Q: Will there be a harem?
A: There will not be a bunch of airheads that get out MC into silly, awkward and stupid scenarios that make him look like a hero or give him great benefit because of plot armour but yes, our MC will have a harem.
11: Q: Who or what is Val talking to in the shadows?
A: With the love and adoration the Praetorian Guard shows Val, they would definitely not allow just fifteen elite guards to protect the Dark Radiance from harm.
So far these are the questions I can answer without spoiling things. I hope it is cool with you. I noted some mistakes in some of the chapters and I must admit that these errors annoy me, Lucien was the name I had given Valerian in the beginning but chose to change because it was a bit too obvious for a vampire novel.
