005- Wednesday

Wednesday, 7:00am

Eli was stretching as he stood in line for his coffee, after the night he had last night with Elizabeth he really wanted a coffee this morning instead of his usual smoothie. As he was waiting for his turn he heard a voice coming closer which made him laugh some, "Sorry... Excuse me..... Sorry Ma'am.... Don't worry I am with him."

Turning he saw Adalind cutting people in line as she moved closer to him, he could only shake his head as he saw her coming closer, until finally she was smiling while standing next to him, "Good morning Adalind, cutting the line I see." He said while shaking his head at her.

"Good morning to you too. And what are you talking about as long as you are in line then you were saving a place for me then." She said like it was the truth making him believe that it is how it was suppose to be.

He shook his head while laughing at her, "You are something else you know that?!"

She only smiled at him as they moved one step closer to the counter, she was going to say something else but she saw him take out his phone and smile at whatever was sent. This caught her interest as it was always her doing this, "Oh what is this? Does you finally have someone to flirt with like me?"

Eli looked at her with a raised brow smirking, "Yeah I met someone last night, she is only in town for a couple of days though so it is a short fling."

She looked surprised but sent him a sly grin, he went on to explain to her about the woman before he ended up buying her another coffee. After that she followed him out to his car naturally getting a ride, "When is your car going to be fixed again?" He asked as they got in.

"Next week, something is wrong with the starter or something I can't remember what the guy said exactly. Honestly I think that they are just trying to charge me more by keeping it there." She said on a sigh as she took out some work papers and looked them over.

"Typical." Eli said as they drove off.

When they made it to the office she once again needed to hold on to his shirt as he led her to his office, he dropped her off before going to his own. He stopped to give Jess a muffin before walking into his office, "Someone had sex last night." Jess sang as she followed Eli into his office.

"And how would you know that?"

"Because it is all over you, I know what a well relaxed man looks like. Seeing your appearance then it is obvious that you got it good last night, so who was the lucky lady?" Jess says with obvious jealousy in her tone.

Eli rolled his eyes hearing it, "Yeah met a woman last night after I went out to the bar, we kind of clicked and it happened. She is from out of town so it is just a fling until she leaves."

He felt a headache coming like he was going to have to explain this multiple times today, he was wondering if he should just go ahead and get some cards made. Jess stared at him for awhile before she turned on her heel and left, he didn't say anything but started working on his computer.

At noon when he was in the middle of looking something up for his case Scott walked in, the guy was wearing sunglasses while holding his head. Eli already knew that he hadn't been in the office this morning, he only shook his head as Scoot went straight for the couch going down head first.

"Turn off the lights, I still need more sleep. I didn't think that she would make me drink more but we got back to her place and she kept feeding me shots. The sex was wild though, she was great." He said turning his head and giving Eli a silly smile.

Eli grunted but didn't respond, he was trying to figure out how to get the second guy off the murder charges since he clearly did it. This was one thing that he didn't like about this job at the moment, he really didn't think that he would be trying to get killers off.

What was this, How To Get Away With Murder?

Rubbing his forehead he tried to work as Scott narrated his whole night with the woman, Jess came in twice during it and frowned at him but said nothing. Eli tuned the guy out after he started talking about them tumbling into bed, he did not need to know what Scott did to women there.

Luckily around six he got a call, but it was from none other then Elizabeth who was asking if he wanted to go out for a late lunch/early dinner. How could he turn her down, he went straight out his office telling Scott to stay out of his bathroom before leaving the drunkard.

"ELI!" He heard someone call out to him as he made it to the elevators looking over it was Adalind who was walking to catch up, "Hey, how is your day? I haven't heard from you, I assumed you would send me at least one message. Anyway don't mind that at the moment, instead where are you headed?"

Laughing he looked down at her since he was five inches taller then her, "If you must know I have a lunch/dinner date with someone. Seeing as I haven't eaten since Jess gave me a bite of her sandwich then I am taking this chance to go meet up for the food."

Adalind paused smiling at him, "Meeting the fling for food, nice. That is also where I am headed but unlike you who seems to be leaving his stuff I don't plan on coming back. I can finish anything else I need back at my house."

"So can I but I wasn't thinking, I might as well do that. I don't need the files in my office since they are on my computer I can just access it from home, as for locking my office Scott has a key so he can do it." Eli said while taking out his phone to tell Scott to lock it up before he left.

"Good thinking, I am glad that even if we go home and work it is still billable. The joy of being a lawyer or is that more of a perk?" She asked with a thoughtful expression as their ride was coming to an end.

Eli smiled as they stepped out of the elevator, "How about both."

He heard he laugh as he walked away, he was meeting Elizabeth at a Sushi bar that she found and liked, it wasn't his favorite but he would try it. He got there seeing her already standing outside the restaurant, she was in a classic look with a tight fitting leather jacket, a white shirt underneath it with tight fitting blue jeans that showed off her but, she was in what looked like Jordan's which he found amazing.

"Well hello there good looking." He said stepping out of the car and walking over to her.

"You don't look to bad yourself." She said leaning over giving him a light peck on the lips, "Hope you are hungry, I found this place last time I was here they have the freshest stuff and none of it is ever imitation."

"Great, nothing I hate more then imitation meat in something. It just doesn't feel right having that in food." Eli said taking her hand as they walked in.

She looked down at their interlocked hands raising a brow after a moment she smiled and let him keep doing it. When they got inside the restaurant was in Japanese style, they got a table for two in a dim light area, thankfully none of the tables were to close.

"So when do you have to go back to the office?" She asked after they ordered their food.

"I don't have to. As a colleague pointed out to me I don't need to go back to the office to work as long as I do it at home since it is all billable." He smiled at her while breaking a pair of chopsticks that were at the table.

"You lawyers really are vampires huh? You take money even when you don't need to work so hard." She teased with a smile.

"Hey! I resent that, I defend some bad people so why not take their money?" Eli said while fake pouting at her.

"Then everything is okay." She agreed nodding.

After awhile their food came and they went into comfortable conversation, Eli never asked her where she was from or anything to personal about herself. He knew that this was just a casual thing for her, something she was just using to keep herself entertained while she was in town.

While he was kind of doing the same as her just keeping himself entertained, he was to busy for a real relationship but figured he could do something like this. He thought maybe he could do something casual with Jess but then shook his head at the thought, she wouldn't be able to keep it casual.

Looking over her shoulder Eli raised a brow, he didn't know why but he felt like the lone guy sitting on the other side of the restaurant was watching them. He wasn't making it obvious but Eli could tell, he was raised to notice these things, the guy would eat his food but he would be looking at them at the corner of his eye.

He also knew this man walked in a little after them, he could feel that the man was a Zauberbiest the power on him wasn't to strong but it was there.

"Is everything okay?" Elizabeth asked seeing that he was looking over her shoulder instead of at her like he had been doing the entire time.

"It is nothing, thought I saw someone I knew but I was wrong." Since the guy wasn't being hostile then Eli didn't event think it was worth mentioning.

"Alright. So what are we doing after this then?" She asked with a smirk.

"Oh, and who says I am not busy after this?" Eli teased looking back at her.

"Oh yeah, and what do you need to get done."

He actually did need to buy a couple of things, he was going to try and get some of it done while he was off earlier today so it actually wasn't all a tease. "Well there are some things I actually need to pick up, there are some potions that I wanted to try making while at the same time I needed to call someone about my grandfather clock that stopped working."

She looked thoughtful a moment, "Well that doesn't sound like to much, I guess I can keep you company while you do it. Out of curiosity, which Potions were you thinking of making?"

Eli smiled while feeding her the last piece of his Rainbow Roll, surprisingly they had them, "Well I need to make two which takes up to two or three days. One is a truth potion so that I can get some information from a witness and the other side of my copyright case. While the second is a memory altering one so that I can help a guy who did it actually get off, discredit the witness then it will be easier."

She nodded her head, "Good plan but I actually have never made a memory altering one. Sure I have made one that can take someone's memories but to actually alter it in a different way seems a little advanced even for me."

Eli grinned while putting his card in the bill, "Well stick with me and you might just learn a thing or two."

She laughed at that, taking her hand again the two left the restaurant after he got his card back, since she took a taxi they both got into his car. He did notice though how the guy who was watching them followed shortly after, he got into an SUV and was just waiting for them to follow along.

Laughing in his head he told her after starting the car, "Well we need to go by The Exotic Spice & Tea Shop which is own by this guy named Freddy. Along the way though I need to call this clock fixer that was recommended."

"Don't mind me, I need to answer a few emails anyway." she said smiling at him before bringing out her phone.

Taking his he already had the number waiting, this guy came highly recommended plus he was suppose to be one of the best in Portland, "Hi is this Monroe?"

"Yes, can I ask who and why you are calling?" A mans voiced asked from the other side of the phone.

"Hi my name is Eli Streets, I got your number from a friend. I was hoping to schedule a time for you to come and look at my Grand Father clock, it suddenly stopped working so I was hoping to see if you can repair it." He said while making a turn.

"Sounds great. I can't guarantee anything until I see it but that shouldn't be a problem for me. When are you free for me to see it." He asked some excitement in his voice.

"I am free Friday after 3. Will that work for you?"

"Yeah I can meet you there, just go ahead and send me a text with all the details about the clock and where to be." Monroe said.

"Sure thing see you then." Eli said before hanging up.

"I leave on Friday you know." Elizabeth said as she saw him set down his phone.

"I know but it isn't until late right," seeing her nod he went on, "So I was thinking of making you dinner your last night, sure he will need to come to the apartment to work on the clock but at least I can make you some food."

She thought it over a moment, "How about I just leave my hotel and stay with you for the rest of my time here?"

He raised a brow before joking, "Moving in already, I know I am good in but I didn't know I was that good."

She laughed, he noticed it was never a giggle which he loved since he wasn't a big fan of gigglers, it just showed how mature she was. "Ha! You wish, I just figured it would be easier for you to cook me things, while also you get a great looking woman kept in your apartment."

Eli laughed right back before thinking it over, "Look in the glove box there." She did and he told her to look into the little box that was in the back, "That is a key to my apartment along with a card for the elevator, go ahead and use it."

"Wow even giving me a key. If I didn't know better I would think that you had this all planned from the start." She joked while putting them both into her purse, "We can go by my hotel after this so that I can check out and grab my things."

"Fine by me, here we are." Eli said as they pulled up to the Spice and Herb shop. The place fit in with the rest this was an older part of town, not exactly down town but these were all original buildings around so it was a neat little place.
