5 The First Beat

Closing his status window Luke looked around the smell of burning, the sound of people crying, and monsters shouting could be heard. He grinned as he saw that his hands were no longer shaking, which was one of the reasons he liked this game. "AI Delete skill Amplify, Sound Healing, Bard's Cry" was the first thing Luke stated.

The reason was the hidden mechanism, as the world was regulated by AI Celeste the tutorial was made for the people to escape easily from the back gate of the village but some players killed all the monsters which increased their rewards with only some common drops no increase in level but till the end, no one has managed to complete the tutorial by 100% even Luke did not know how to achieve 100% if some player had completed it was never known because of less number of players playing tutorial in later days of the game or the rewards was too good to reveal it in the forums. The skills given by AI were not random but covered all major aspects in the case of Bard such as

Amplify: Self-Buff Type

Sound Healing: Recovery Type

Bard's Cry: Attack type

Beat Sync: Movement Type

The deletion of a skill rendered a player weaker than they were before as per the AI Celeste. Since it is a predetermined factor, some players disagree with the statement saying "I only need one skill or no skill to complete the tutorial". Having more skills increases your versatility in combat and for reduction of the skill increases difficulty. However, many players do not delete a skill; instead, they simply do not use it leaving them in their arsenal for potential future applications rather than erasing it.

The AI presented

Are you sure about the deletion of 3 skills which can result in increased difficulty for you because of the selection of your class?

YES/NO

Note: You can gain them later in the main game

"Yes" ordered Luke

A notification appeared in front of him stating

Skill Amplify has been removed

Skill Sound Healing has been removed

Skill Bard's Cry has been removed

You have gained a level-up card X3

Do you want to level up Beat Sync using level-up cards?

"Yes" ordered Luke.

Deleting a skill will let you gain level-up cards which can be used to level up other skills. The higher rarity skill you delete the more level-up cards you can get but people won't go over deleting skills of higher rarity skills just for level-up cards and the rarity of the skill does not matter in the tutorial so it is not presented in the tutorial.

Skill Beat sync has been leveled up X3

Beat Sync (Level 4) (Novice)

Sync your beat with your previously produced beat to increase your movement speed by 35% for 1.1 seconds up to 6 beats.

Cost: 12 SP

Cooldown:5 sec

Luke then began walking towards the main entrance of the village on the way he spotted several individuals hiding in garbage bins on the road, and houses on the left of the road which had not caught fire from the right side due to the direction of the wind.

Luke thought "The monsters attacking the village comprised of eight Level 5 Goblins, two Level 10 Goblins acting as a guard for the boss and one Level 15 Orc of Level 15 as the boss".

Luke on spotting the goblin takes out his tuning forks from the pouch hung over his belt in his beginner clothes. He inspected it which presented the stats as

Tuning Forks (Custom made)

Quantity: 2

Attack:8 for each fork

Durability: ∞ (Because of the tutorial)

Produces a sharp sound when hit with each other.

Remark: Bruh! If you want to play with sharp things why don't play Swordsman or Thief?

Ignoring the remarks made by the AI he equipped both tuning forks in each hand and stealthily made his way to the goblin.

He checked the pointy ends and whispered "Sharp enough".

He shouted "Beat Sync" and hit the two tuning forks together which produced a sharp sound in the atmosphere.

[Goblin's POV]

I was just chewing on a human meat which I just killed. Hearing someone saying something behind my back and a sharp sound came which hurt my ear.

I turned around only to find nothing. The same sound came again from my back I turned around again only to find two sharp pointy things coming for my both eyes before I could dodge….

[Luke's POV]

The skill beat sync is a very particular skill that requires you to synchronize with the beat you previously produced if you fail to sync the two beats it goes on the cooldown. One of the reasons why I took tuning fore is because the sound beat produced by a tuning fork is sharp and can be synchronized easily even while moving compared to other musical instruments which are comparatively harder to synchronize while in combat and some instruments cannot be even used as weapons.

Luke first attracted the goblin by shouting the skill name, a sharp sound produced by the tuning fork using the first movement speed boost to get behind the goblin which was peacefully eating his meat(humans).

The goblin circles to search for him as soon as he hears the sound. At that point, he charged straight toward the goblin, cutting down on their distance while striking the tuning fork a second time to give himself a second continuing speed boost. This made the goblin turn around, but he used the momentum from the speed boost to pierce the goblin upward through his eyes, piercing the brain with the tuning fork.

The movements displayed by him were not what some casual player could do they were the movements of a player who once ranked above the others in the support category. Here a single boost goes on around for 1.1 sec which is nothing in real life for many people but in-game it can change the outcome by an entirety and syncing a beat with tuning forks is a child's play with Luke's talent.

Hearing many system prompts passing by his ears and seeing the goblin unresponsive he took out the tuning forks from the goblin and cleaned them with the loincloth worn by the goblin while he sees the system notifications

Deals 16 damage to the goblin (8 X 2)

Critical hit brain penetration Instant Death

Luke reasoned "A normal Level 5 Goblin has somewhere around 25 health since the 'Inspect' skill is only available in the main game. If this was real life it would have been impossible to murder someone with a tuning fork since they are not made to be used this way and if not for the infinite durability of the tutorial the tuning forks would have been broken or bent if used like that as a weapon in real life made of steel".

The mace that the deceased goblin had been holding onto since his death is snatched, well, picked up, by Luke. Since the corpse vanishes in the main game after death and only loot remains, it cannot be considered a drop.

With a giggle, Luke declares, "The fun starts now."

Luke hums a song in his mind and moves as if he's in the urge to dance while saying "Sweet tasty rewards wait for daddy. Daddy is coming".
