38 The Battle Begins

As Thorian descended from the mountains, he saw a peculiar smoke, and, upon noticing the flags of those cruisers, he took the whistle from his chest to call Doki, who appeared by his side moments later.

"Suki, send the younger ones out of the city," Thorian said as he unsheathed his sword and looked into the distance, where certain figures were approaching.

Seeing that Thorian had appeared, Suki calmed down a bit. However, knowing that the island was her responsibility to protect, she refused to move and said, "I'll fight by your side. This place is what I trained for, and you're not taking this away from me."

"You protect people, not a town. Do what I'm ordering you," Thorian shouted angrily, seeing Suki's stubbornness. This wasn't a battle that the Kyoshi warriors could stop, especially not when a unit was likely already on the island at this moment.

Suki's mother appeared beside her and said, "Do as he says; our duty now is to protect the island."

Just as Thorian was about to turn around, he noticed it was too late, so he stopped in his tracks. His eyes focused on these fifteen warriors, probably someone of high rank; he didn't have the chance to know him, but he didn't care.

Thorian let out a deep sigh.

In the distance, Suki was horrified to see the battles Thorian participated in and couldn't believe that there were such powerful people.

"At least he'll fulfill his promise to protect this island." Suki's mother murmured, watching as all the Fire Nation warriors headed toward the center of the village when they saw that a battle was commencing there.
