13 Chapter 13

Chapter 13:

She was completely incapacitated. Her arms are losing their senses. She felt helpless and hopeless, and with her surrounded by her enemies, more fear started to invade her heart.

However, that is not the end. From the darkness, a figure slowly appeared, looking menacing with his masked face and steady posture.

The eyes peering into the mask hole boring into her being, two sets of marble looking at her as if she's a helpless prey.

"I received your invitation, Young Avatar" Amon spoke with a deep voice. Intimidating and scary. Korra's eyes widened, fear and despair filling her.

Amon extended his arms seemingly aiming for her forehead and by this action the latter flinched, this was the same move Amon did when he took Lightning Bolt Zolt's bending.

At that, Korra shivered. She was so scared and helpless, she regretted her arrogance, her overconfidence, she should've just stayed put.

Then as she was thinking Amon was going to take her bending away, Amon's hand grabbed her chin. Then he pulled her chin up, making her look at him in the eye.

Korra is frightened as Amon reaches out his hand to touch her face; she turns her face away. Amon bends his wrist so his hand is now with his palm facing upward as he grabs Korra by her chin and forces her to look at him. Korra looks at him full of fear.

"Our showdown, while inevitable, is premature." He said then he kneeled matching her eye level and continued.

"Although it would be the simplest thing for me to take away your bending right now… I won't."

"You'd only become a martyr. Benders of every nation would rally behind your untimely demise"

"But I assure you, I have a plan, and I'm saving you for last. Then, you'll get your duel and I will destroy you."

Amon stood up looking at her more threatening, intimidating, and ominous than the last she'd seen him.

He raised his fist in the air, going to aim for her but as he was about to release his punch a sudden gust of very powerful wind slammed into him.

"GUAAGHH!" Amon was flung like a lifeless doll, slamming him into the ground.

"It's the Airbender!" The chi-blockers shouted in chorus, a figure in the dark appearing, frowned brows like an asura and an outstretched fist.

"Attack him at once! Don't give him time to air—" Before he could even finish his sentence a small but concentrated air bullet struck his throat making the air coming out of it squeal.

The Airbender twisted his body and made a spiral motion while pushing his palm. A wind pressure powerful enough to push boulder slamming into that very chi-blocker knocking him out of the fight.

"I told you, I'd be running to your side when you get in trouble" The light of the moon shined down upon them, casting illumination on the figure revealing his face.

It was Jiran.

Korra felt as if the weight of the entire world were lifted off her shoulders.

"Jiran…" Korra muttered then tears started to stream down from her eyes. She felt so scared, she thought that this was the end of her.

She had no one at that moment, alone and helpless, surrounded by enemies. And yet at the moment of despair, a light shined through.

This was her light. Jiran walked closer to her and without any warning Korra jumped into him and hugged him. She squeezed so hard that Jiran felt the air out of him get pushed out.

He felt something wet on his robe, tears. And this made Jiran hug Korra. He returned her embrace and caressed her hair.

Sob… sob… sob…

"I was so terrified, I felt so helpless." Korra cried.

"There, there, no need to be scared, I'm here, and I'll always be here," Jiran said gently as he hugged her. With that statement, Korra bawled out her eyes more.

"Now why don't you wipe those tears away and watch me kick these asswipes huh" And with that Korra let go of Jiran, then she looked up to see his eyes looking at her with gentle and loving care.

At that eyes, Korra started blushing really hard that her face turned tomato red.

"Hehe, my charm never fails me" He chuckled, making the mood lighter but as he turned his head around to look at the wary chi-blockers, the air around him changed. From warm to extreme cold.

Then without any warning, Jiran stomped his foot in the ground creating a wave of wind gushing forth towards the chi-blockers.

They tried to dodge the attack but it was too widespread, only those who were at the edge of its range managed to dodge. However, that was not the end of it.

FWWWIISSSSHHHHHHH!!

Jiran swiped his hand vertically producing a powerful wave of air in the form of an arc, and that attack struck the chi-blockers eliminating the majority of them out of the game.

"There's no use dodging! Charge at him!" Realizing that there's no use in dodging since Jiran's range was too widespread they decided to charge at him and take it the hard way.

"Tsk!" Amon too came into the scene. He clicked his tongue from being attacked.

"Spread out! Don't give him a big target!" He shouted at his henchman.

Then as Amon instructed they dispersed however Jiran didn't appear too distressed. He merely waved his hands and motioned a spherical motion, then a ball of wind was created within his palm.

He threw the ball in the air and then he spread out his hands as if opening a curtain, then from the action the ball of wind expanded in all directions, and the expanding domain was also spinning creating a sucking vortex that pulled the chi-blockers into it.

"Step back!" The chi-blockers yelled but it was too late almost all of his companions were sucked into it and were taken out of the fight.

Seeing these hopeless situations he was once again subjected to, Amon clenched his fist and then he motioned at his henchman and commanded.

"Retreat!" Jiran was about to stop them but Amon threw a smoke bomb at them obscuring his vision, he used his airbending to remove the fog but when it was cleared out Amon and his henchman were gone.
