5 The Avatar meets The Mother of Chakra.

Shin woke up with a throbbing headache. He groaned and held his head until the pain was somewhat subdued. He was about to go about his day, but something stopped him. Something felt amiss for him. 'Arggh...What is it?' Shin questioned himself as the feeling of haven forgotten something important, a feeling many sympathize with, kept him from moving on with his day. It was something... something dangerous. It had been 13 years since he came to this world and the thing which worried him the most was... Kaguya Ōtsutsuki!

'But she is the new concubine of emperor Tenji, isn't she,' Shin thought to himself although he felt that he was forgetting something very important related to her. His thoughts felt jumbled and hard to focus on until Shin had a breakthrough. 'Yes! I used to watch Naruto before my rebirth and she was there, that woman, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki,' he thought to himself.

The headache flared up once again, and this time it put Shin in unbearable pain. It felt as if someone was splitting his skull open. He fell to the ground, barely able to hold back the cries of anguish or keep his mind straight. Slowly the pain subsided again and his thoughts became clearer.

"Young master, are you alright?" asked a worried Mrs. Suhi from beyond the door.

"I-I am fine. Just a nightmare," Shin said to dissuade her concern for him. It was a nightmare alright, and now he was stuck in it. The headache must have been the side effect of that memory altering technique Kaguya used to convince everyone that she was a concubine of lord Tenji. Shin was there with his father when she used that technique.

He could remember it clearly, those clear white eyes, long blue hair, and pale-white skin. For someone whose arrival he had dreaded for a long time, she looked harmless for the most part. She was brought to be shown to emperor Tenji. While one of the guards was informing on how they found her, she had suddenly started glowing causing Shin and all those around him to black out. After waking back up, Shin almost had no concerns of Kaguya. Heck, it was as if he couldn't recognize her as a threat. He had ended up spending the rest of the day in some sort of a trance.

After revising what had happened yesterday, Shin started to panic a little. He had no idea what he was supposed to do and unfortunately, it didn't seem like Shin had much of a choice because the moment he got back to his feet Mrs. Suhi called him.

"Young master, it seems that someone has called for you from the Royal palace."

<Kaguya's P.O.V>

<Yesterday>

The welcome I had received yesterday night, on my return, was certainly 'something' to say the least. Right now, I was being lead somewhere by a few people of this land. They were probably taking me to their leader.

As walked I couldn't help but take in the beautiful scenery of this planet. However, as we kept on walking, I noticed the reason I had been sent here. The God tree, in all it's glory, could be seen in the distance. I had been sent to procure a chakra fruit from that very tree for the higher members of the clan.

The tree brought back painful memories. I had been there, back during the time of it's plantation on the soil of this planet with my then fiancé, Isshiki. It had been a dreadful day for me, it was the day I was driven to kill my betrothed.

We reached the place of their leader and I was forced on my knees. One of the guards began explaining the situation to their leader. Meanwhile, I was too busy focusing on the next step of my plans. I was tired of the Ōtsutsuki and no longer wanted to be part of them.

As I was about to execute a technique which would help me take place amongst these people, I noticed something surprising. It had been so surprising, that it caused my concentration to falter. I turned my attention to the anomaly. It was a human, he looked like a young adult. I concentrated my attention on him. There was no doubt about it, that boy standing near the emperor had the ability to manipulate energy, at least to a certain degree. The energy in him flowed in him in a way which differed from other humans.

This was alarming. After deciding so I proceeded to use the mind-altering technique to make all those present believe me to be the Emperor's newest concubine.

<Shin's P.O.V>

I stood there, waiting in front of the entrance of Kaguya's room while going through a bout of the jitters. I had no idea why she had summoned me. Hell, I had been planning on laying as low as possible to avoid meeting her at all, at least not until after I had mastered all the four elements on the level of a master bender.

Gathering my courage for what was to come, I knocked on the door. The door was opened by Aino. She seemed surprised to see me.

"Shin? What are you doing here?"

I knew there was a chance that Aino was going to be Kaguya's handmaiden even though there should have been a lot of changes in the future due to the butterfly effect caused by my presence.

I replied, "I don't really know." I really didn't. I had no idea why the hell had Kaguya called for me. "I was told that Kaguya-sama had requested for my presence."

"She did? Just wait a moment, I will be right back." Aino returned to the room and came back moments later. "Kaguya-sama is waiting for you inside."

I entered the room and there she was, sitting on a tatami mat, staring right at me. I gulped in nervousness before bowing. "You called for me? Kaguya-sama."

She just kept staring at me, seemingly searching for something. Apparently having noticed something, she gestured me to sit. I did as was requested, hesitatingly.

"You seem nervous," she stated as soon as I sat down.

I flinched slightly before replying, "my apologies, your highness. It's just that I have no idea why you have called me here."

"Ah, yes. I called you here to have something confirmed..." After saying so she stood up. My heartbeat quickened, something felt wrong. I heard a thud beside me and found Aino laid out on the ground, unconscious.

This immediately put me on my guard. "What is happening?- No, what did you do?" I asked as I glared at the only person in this room other than me and Aino.

Kaguya remained expressionless. "Like I said... I just want to confirm something." She dashed towards me with her hand outstretched and slashes her hand towards me. I instinctively dodged the attack and flipped backwards.

"Lady Kaguya! What is the meaning of this?!" I asked her. She didn't answer me. I had no idea why was she doing this. According to the anime she lived a pretty normal life when she took the place of emperor Tenji's concubine, well at least in the beginning she did. I questioned internally on why the hell had she targeted me specifically. I didn't get much time to ponder as I dodged another slash towards my neck. She stepped close to me and was about to stab me in the chest with her hand.

I couldn't hold back anymore. The floor between us burst as a wall of earth appeared from the ground and separated the two of us. I quickly followed up on that by using earth bending to trap her from the neck down with earth spikes.

Now trapped in an earth wall, Kaguya nonetheless smiled. "I knew it..." she muttered and the earth spikes surrounding her disintegrated, freeing her. I immediately lit my fists ablaze and got ready to fight for my life, however a sudden, strong headache assaulted me again, causing me to lose my focus, and control over my flames. The last thing I saw was the visage of Kaguya as she stared down at me.

<Shin P.O.V>

I woke up once again. There was no headache bothering me this time. I looked around and almost lost my cool when I found Kaguya sitting across from me on the Tatami mat. With a few deep breaths, I calmed myself down. "What just happened?" I managed to ask.

With an expressionless still face on, she replied, "I just confirmed my suspicions."

"And that is...?" I asked, trying to figure out how much she knew to avoid accidently revealing anything about myself.

"It is certain that you can manipulate Chakra, something which all living beings have but cannot manipulate with the Ōtsutsuki being the sole exception." She paused and stared into my eyes before continuing, "So, tell me how does a human have access to chakra. Although, admittedly, the chakra used by you is certainly different in nature."

A/n: There is so little given about the origin of Kaguya. I am going to have to make stuff up. Plus, hopefully, the next time I publish a chapter I will have a editor by my side.
