3 Last Progenitor

" I am someone you do need to know yet... " he replied.

Under his breath Haon said "Wow... great answer".

Seeing his disappointed look the man in black suit asked " Do you remember why you are here?"

"Why am I here?... Why am I here?..." he closed his eyes and then suddenly his eyes darted open and started to quiver, tears started to slowly come out of his eyes then Haon croaked... "my disease..."

The man in the black suit sighed and "So you remembered, well I'm glad you remember and yes you are cured...", silence filled the room then suddenly Haon broke down and started crying, he cried until he couldn't anymore, " thank you... thank you so much" he weeped.

The man smiled at him, then frowned immediately and then said "I'm glad you are happy... but do you know what you're [Rejuvenating] means" ... "Huh?" Questioned Haon.

"You weren't the only one to be approached by us, infact you were the last one out of 777 people to get contacted... we gathered as many people as we can who had incurable disease, who had no more relatives left..." he said, Haon looked at him confused.

"Do you know what we are?" He asked.

Haon shooked his head, the man looked at him straight in the eyes and said " We were a simple biotech company, who ventured into gaming, but now we are heralded as saviours of humanity... do you want to know why?"

Haon looked at him with slight fear in his eyes, he wanted to answer verbally, but he couldn't, he was so scared that his mouth couldn't utter words, he could only meekly nod.

The man stood up and walked to the windows, and began to speak "You have been asleep for 127 years...", Haon was shocked to the core, he wanted to rebuke it call it an "impossibility", but again he couldn't, "As I mentioned before we gathered 777 people with incurable disease that had no relatives, and we put them in [Cryochambers], like with you, they didn't have a choice, either die now or come with us... we used your brain power to develop an hyper intelligent A.I that would develop by itself, and that can develop worlds, we called it [Avalon]... [Avalon] performed better than expected and started to create this fantasy world, but it performed too well... we couldn't control it, it started to take over firstly this company then the whole world's entire digital system, around this time a war broke out... it was around 10 years when [Avalon] started being uncontrollable, this war involved everyone and lasted 30 years, the war was so brutal that it eliminated countries, especially weak countries, places like Africa lost most of population, with no countries to support its development and with the country being poor, many of its population died... 2017 there were around 7 billion people, 30 years later 2 billion are left, in 2017 there was 197 countries there were only a few countries left mostly 1st world countries, the war was mainly an east vs west situation, around 2040 the countries left in each side united, the east side became, The Eastern Federation Collective, and the west side became, Western Union Collective..."

He stopped for a moment and looked at Haon, beckoning him to speak, Haon asked "How was it stopped?".

The man smiled and said "Good, you know what question to ask... and to answer your question, it was our company that made peace happen, we introduced [Avalon] to the world, [Avalon] became a second life to a point where it's currency [Avon coins] became the world's currency it was hyper realistic game where people could enter and forge a new life in its 1st year it was a hit, a continuously evolving game managed by a hyper intelligent A.I, it was a new world, everyone rushed to it due to its fairness, it was a new world where everyone, rich or poor, was equal you couldn't buy wealth in the game, but only earn, it was a hit... and much more with [Avalon] in the world system, technology improved in leaps in bounds, but again it couldn't be controlled around 2060 [Avalon] became a saviour known to man kind, it knew everyone's deepest secret and the world revolved around it, it develop new technology that could extend humanities lifetime, but also end it, it demonstrated its power by healing the incurable, and where better else to prove it, than the brains that made it, it cured almost all of the 777 incurable patients apart from 1, you... when those 776 people entered the game, [Avalon] gave them the title [Progenitor], the [Progenitor]s became an instant hit, it was found out that the title was actually their healer, during the times they were asleep in the [Cryochamber] [Avalon] was healing them, it altered their DNA making them unique, these [Progenitor]s became instant hits, they were renowned as the by product of greatness and [Avalon] became the saviour that could do anything some [Progenitor]s became the best players and went to become [Ranker]s some didn't and just became ordinary players, [Ranker]s were players who conquered the new updates that [Avalon] produced every year. 20 years later the world became peaceful indefinitely, disagreements between the two Collectives could be solved in [Avalon] since you could war against each other, each had their own territories, and with [Avalon] continuously expanding there was always stuff to do, that was until it couldn't produce anymore content, the world was in disarray, it wasn't world ending, it was just became stagnant and that was 10 years ago, we found out it was due to you the last [Progenitor] since [Avalon] is part of the [Progenitor]s it needed every [Progenitor] to at least enter [Avalon] once for it to complete itself, so [Avalon] was technically in Beta, [Avalon] told us that it wasn't meant to go on this long, the Beta, and that it was meant to reset in the first 10 years of its lifetime to be fully independent, so that it can produce content indefinitely, at first when the world found out that, it was chaos, until everyone realised that it didn't really matter if it stopped developing , this was due to the economy being heavily tied to the real world there are currently 1.5 quadrillion [Avon coin]s in circulation in the world everyone was paid in [Avon coin]s even those who does not play or those who couldn't play, so with the economy secured [Avalon] became a place of leisure and solving political problems and [Avalon] knew that too, to be honest with you we didn't want to wake you up, no one in the world wanted their progress reset so the the Collectives decided not to wake you at all, suddenly around 5 years ago [Avalon] announced that it was shutting down... the world couldn't handle it, no one could, with [Avalon] being in the centre of everyone's life, it disappearing is a disaster, now the people who heralded us as saviours is now heralding us killers, the collectives couldn't handle this, with the economy heavily tied to [Avalon] it shutting down means that 1.5 quadrillion [Avon coin]s would be wiped instant, the world couldn't handle that , so we had to cure you, we had to [Rejuvinate] you... [Avalon] is going to shut down in 2 years if you do not enter, but do not consider yourself a saviour... I suggest you do not even put on your [Progenitor] title people would kill you"

Haon's eyes shook... *ping* a noise was heard from his arm, his bracelet glowed and whirring sound could be heard... "Quest complete: Awakening, [Last Progenitor] title gained " the bracelet spoke...

The man in black turned and said "Well then [Last Progenitor] let us get you in [Avalon]".
