1 Prologue I

It was 2256 A.D, and the population of Earth that used to be over 8 Billion human life dwindled to a billion.

Wars fought by humans destroyed the homes of not only other humans but also other living beings. Extinction happened to many different species of animals.

After the nuclear war and some other natural calamities like earthquakes and continuous rising sea levels caused the landmass that used to be 29% decreased to 13%.

Many people suffered but by the year 2270 A.D., society was introduced to a restructuring that paved the way for the current [World Government]

The sunken landmass where people used to live was replaced by [Artificial Islands] known as [Divisions].

Ten more years later, even the landmass that remained was also called Divisions. These Divisions became the [Seven Divisionary Countries] that has its own culture and history.

The new world rule and newly established countries paved the way for humanity to strive for a greater good.

But even in this world of prosperity, there are still a lot of elements that make the world slowly rot away and make others suffer.

A good illustration of this is the life of Leo Ashton.

Since his early childhood, Leo Ashton never owned the luxury of experiencing a rose-coloured view of the world.

When he was just 6, he and his two siblings lived a life of difficulty.

Their parents treated them like unwanted trash. With such a treatment, this made Leo adjust to 'real-life' much quicker than anyone of his peers.

A heaven-sent concoction created a useless and abusive father.

The ingredients used to create this masterpiece were, being a gambling addict, an alcoholic, a pinch of violence, and most important of all being a natural asshole.

If he was not out gambling, beating Leo and his siblings black and blue was their father's pastime. Being the oldest, Leo defended his siblings from the fist of their father.

His younger siblings were twins and were at the young age of 4 years old. Both of them are delicate young girls who also suffer from the abuse of their father.

Their mother was also no good. She was too busy keeping her so-called 'youthful' looks that she had no time to look after her children. She only sees her children as a nuisance.

He and his sisters could only depend on one another. Both mentally and physically supporting one another, they strived to leave that house and become independent.

Leo worked hard in his studies so he can have a brighter future.

But to his dismay, he learned he had no talent for this particular set of skills.

However, he did not give up. Instead, he went to find his strengths and then chose to focus on increasing that strength of his.

Although he had an introvert personality, Leo has some talent athleticism wise.

So, he chose to pursue a path that will lead to him capitalizing on it. So, he went to train on [Mix Martial System].

Known as Mix Martial arts hundreds of years ago, it now became MMS had existed hundreds of years ago, but it is as popular as ever.

In a time where crazy things appear left and right, owning a healthy physique is a must-have in this current era to feel more secure.

So, Leo trained in secret. He did not tell anything about his plans to his parents. The people who knew what he was doing was his sisters who were supporting him by providing him cover from the prying eyes of their parents.

Even though they are only five years old at the moment, both were compelled to mature earlier, just like Leo.

Leo secretly sneaks out at night so he can go to a gym. There, he trains his body with the best of his ability.

But hard work also begets the irritation of stupid people. So when they look at him execute his weak strikes, they laugh.

But Leo ignored them and continued on with his life. But there are times when he chooses not to go to the Gym.

Those times are the time when his father gets drunk. His father would come home with a balled-up fist and a fiery temper. As for the result, it is pretty self-explanatory.

Leo would be battered and bruised, but he will never let his sisters get touched.

There was one time that their father tried to punch Lilith, he shouted curses to get his attention.

Yes, he did get a beating of a lifetime, but he did not regret it one bit.

That night, it was Leah and Lily who tended to his wounds, and they cried for him when he refused to let out a tear escape from him.

In his mind, he was always thinking, "I must be strong for them."

If he was weak and fragile, who would be the support of his sisters? Their mother? What kind of joke would that be? But when he was alone, he cried.

Time moved quicker than and Leo reached the age of 13.

In this new age being 13 means you can already work to gain experience. Leo took advantage of this and went to work at a Gun Shop several streets away from their house.

He did this for him to gain a way to earn some money for his family. He managed to make some money and keep his job a secret, but this resulted in letting his sisters out of his sight.

His sisters were still in full support of his decision despite having to bear the brunt of their parents' so-called tough love.

They have yet to go to school, and they rarely go out so their father must have thought hitting them on the face was fair game.

The usual weapon of choice their father pick is a belt, his fist, and occasionally and two by two wood he kept for some lovely home improvement.

Leo decided to change his shifts, so he can go back home for some time and then take the beating instead of her sister's and then return again after having his wounds nurse by sneaking out.

Everything was going well, no one managed to figure out what they were doing. Leo was slowly earning money the more he gained side jobs.

And despite everything he had been through, he still kept his hand clean of any crime so he can look at his sisters with pure eyes.

But not everything flows the way you want to.

When he returned home later than he had expected. He opened the front door as quietly as possible so he can sneak inside. He had a broad smile as he had brought them quite a treat; he bought them a bag of their favourite junk foods.

When he got in, he scampered past the front door then was just about to cross the kitchen when he found some muffled cries from the kitchen.

He was baffled as the cries were getting louder, and the sound of someone resisting was heard.

Moving quickly, but still silently; he stood before the kitchen's doorway and with the light from the moon giving him a clear view; he found one of his sisters tied while the other being undressed by his father — no, he was no longer his father, he was nothing but a bastard.

And after witnessing such a sight, his body moved before he can think straight.

He tackled the drunken bastard away from Lily.

"Son of a Whore, what the fuck are you — ugh! Stop! Stop it!"

Leo didn't listen to his words. His fist rain down upon the bastard; and with the bastard being too drunk to even retaliate, he had free reigns on what can and cannot do.

His fist didn't stop even after he stops making any noise. Blood was flying everywhere, but his rationality had already flown away.

Leo continued without mercy, and the sound of his fist hitting the bastard's face echoed throughout their home.

Sounds of footsteps were heard coming from behind, and when the light was abruptly turned on, a shrill cry was heard.

"Aaaah!"

Her mother cried out and then collapse on the floor when her legs gave out.

Witnessing the mutilated visage of her husband, she runs out without even caring for the tied up twins. She called for help, but Leo continued his punches, not even stopping even long after killing the bastard!
