9 Chapter 07: Trained in Dream

Camille's POV

I woke up. When I opened my eyes, all I can see above me is not a ceiling anymore. Instead it's a sky.

I sat down and looked around.

W-Where am I?

Am I d-dead? Is the scene where I entered an academy is just a dream?

"Camille!" I heard someone calling my name.

I looked behind me and I saw a weird creature.

It looks like a dog with so much fur!

"D-Did you just call my name?" I confusedly asked.

"Yeah. How are you?" she said.

"W-Wait you're a dog right? D-Did you just talk?" I asked.

"One, I'm not a dog. Two, of course! You just saw it?! There's nothing impossible in the world of magic" she said with a combination of cute and sassy voice.

"Then what are you? And, w-where are we?" I asked.

"We're here in your drem. We're wasting our time. Come with me!" she said and started walking.

"Wait! Where are you going?!" I asked but she didn't answer and went away. I ran as fast as I could to catch up with her.

We ended up in a sparkling place. Then, a floating lady wearing a robe with the color of a galaxy just came to us.

"Gwendolyn, I hope she's the one" the strange creature I am with spoke.

"I hope so" the floating lady in robe named Gwendolyn said.

"The one?" I coldly asked.

"Yeah. There's no time to waste. Charm Tournaments will come soon. We'll help you find your Charm" Gwendolyn said.

"Huh?" I asked.

"Since Brylle helped us already, we saw that you're good at Archery. So, I'm giving you this" she said and made a pattern with her arms. Then suddenly, I'm already holding a bow and arrows!.

"W-What will I do with this?" I coldly asked.

"Focus" she just said.

Huh?

A few moments later, I felt something that moved on my arm. I looked at it and saw a spider?! It's too small. Because of me being so busy staring at it, I suddenly felt pain. It looks like it bit me?

"Ahhhh!" I yelled because of so much pain.

"Will you let your enemy absorb your strength so you let them attack you without dodging it?!" Gwendolyn shouted.

"I don't-" I was about to say something when she just shouted.

"Concentrate" she said in a normal voice.

I toppled it out of my left arm and looked in front of me.

There are too many of them coming towards me. Oh, so she means, I'll hit them with my arrows?! Of course I didn't know because she didn't even explained anything!

I aimed my archer and hit them one by one. Really?! It's so hard to hit them all yet they're too close to me.

I stepped backwards and hit the side where there are too many of them.

Whatever I do, I can't finish them with one continuous arrow. So, just like in the training room, I aimed many arrows at them but now, it's five arrows at once. Unlike in the training room when it was all three.

I did eat so fast and repeatedly and thank goodness I just saw that they're decreasing in numbers.

Then, once again, I got five arrows at once and then I just realized that it's the last arrows I had. Will they all vanish when my arrows are all gone?

"Concentrate" I heard Gwendolyn's whisper echoing in my mind.

Fine!

I focused my last five arrows to the cornered areas of the spiders.

I closed my eyes and let go of the arrows at once.

When I opened my eyes, I saw my five arrows just lit on their tip. They even differ in colors! The one is dark blue, the second one is sky blue, the third one is green, the fourth one is violet and the last one is pink.

They all hit the ground in unison.

The first arrow caused a flood that drowned the spiders. And when they're gone, it just vanished like nothing happened.

The second one repels all the spiders that are so near in it.

The third one covered all the spiders near to it with soil.

The fourth arrow caused lightning to come out and electrocuted each spider near it.

And the last arrow hit the ground with the loudest echo heard everywhere. I can even say that the arrow itself is the one who shouted! And because of it's too much volume, evem I covered my ears. When I looked at the spiders, they are all lying upside down.

But what shocked me more is that they happened in unison as they hit the five corners.

Looks like I now believe in magic!

"Thanks for helping me" I said as I went closer to them.

"Thank yourself Camille" Gwendolyn said that made me so confused.

"Huh? A-Aren't you the one who did it? Then thank you because I wasn't bitten for the second time anymore" I answered.

"It's not me who did it" she answered.

"Then who? Is it you?" I asked and pointed at the strange creature.

"How can she be amazed like that if she's the one who had done it?" Gwendolyn said and then smiled. And so is the the strange creature who's eyes became so big because of amazement

"Then who did it? The spiders? The arrows themselves?" I asked.

"Don't pretend that you don't know it Camille. It's you. You did your best" Gwendolyn answered.

"Idol!" the strange creature shouted and jumped so high just to hug me. I catched her and now I am carrying her. She's so fluffy! It just change my mood. I am back from I was before getting cold-hearted.

"Huh?" I confusedly asked.

"I guess you now believe in magic. Now, fix the mess you made" Gwendolyn commanded.

"Huh? How could I even do it if I don't know how?" I asked.

"I didn't told you anything about the spiders yet you did it. I didn't gave you any advice this time and I believe you can do it" she said while smiling.

"Do it idol! Don't waste my trust upon you! You really impressed me!" the one I'm hugging shouted.

Fine!

I put her down and went back from the battlefield with the spiders.

What will I do?

I just put my palm on the ground and I put all my force in my hand.

When I looked at my hand on the ground, I can see that the ground is freezing. When I felt like every part of the battlefield froze, I removed my palm from the ground.

W-What did I just do?

I looked at Gwendolyn and the strange creature and all they do is smile.

I stepped on the frozen ground, put all my force in my feet and I just feel like my feet are melting the ice. When every ice melted, the battlefield came back from what it was before. The mess after the battle with the spiders are fixed.

I went near Gwendolyn and the strange creature and all they do is smile.

"You made it" she said. My left arm feels so much pain. The part where the spider bit me is what causing all this pain!

"W-What's happening?! Ahhhhhhh!" I screamed.

"It's the effect of being unaware of what's happening in your surroundings" Gwendolyn calmly said.

"Then h-heal it!" I screamed as loud as I can.

"Why not you?" she asked.

"I lost my strength-" I was about to say something when the strange creature spoke.

"Before it will absorb your remaining strength, then prevent it" she said. Why is that no matter how angry I am everytime I hear her voice I will calm down? What's with this creature?

I'm gonna listen to you.

I covered my wound using my right palm. I looked at it and it just glowed. I removed my palm covering it. And then, I just saw a dot.

"If you think this is just a dream, look at that dot on your left arm when you wake up" the strange creature said.

"Okay. But can I know your name?" I asked. I don't what has gotten into me that those words just came out from my mouth. Starting when I entered this world, everytime a stranger talks with me, I'm just gonna say 'okay'. But, I really don't know what's happening right now!

"I don't have a name. Mind giving me one?" she cutely asked.

"Huh? What will I give you?" I asked.

"It depends on you" she answered.

"Hmmm... I think Shizune will suit you?" I asked.

"Shizune!!! Gwendolyn, from now on, call me Shizune!" she happily screamed.

"Yes, my dear Shizune" Gwendolyn answered and then smiled.

"What creature are you Shizune?" I asked.

"I'm Shizune!" she screamed and hop repeatedly.

Just leave it there! If they don't want to say, then what now?!

"When you wake up, tell no one about what happened here but, apply this training when the tournament comes" Gwendolyn said while smiling.

"Tournament?" I asked.

"Camille, don't force yourself to be a cold-hearted one if you really are not. Don't force yourself to be alone if there are some out there who wants to be your friend" she said and the topic just changed.

"She's right Camille. Don't let your past destroy your future. You're just pretending to ignore everyone who are so concerned about you" Shizune also spoke.

I was left blank and quiet thinking about what they just said.

"Just think about it! Goodbye Camille!" they both screamed and then a black hole just appeared under my feet.

"Aaaaah!" I screamed because I am so shocked that I just fall.

Then I ended up sitting on my bed catching my breath.

What did they just do?!

Wait, it looks like the same circulating thing I saw at the mortal!

I looked at my left arm. It's the black dot Gwendolyn is talking about.

"You okay Camille?" I heard someone behind my door.

"Y-Yes" I coldly answered.

"Fine. Please prepare your self faster!" she replied.

I looked at the window. It's so bright!

Oh no! I'm gonna be late!
