7 Chapter 05: Ability Testing

Camille's POV

I am now here in my room.

So that's how hard their life is in the past, huh?

So why? Why do I need to get hurt?

I had the same past as horrible as them yet no one cares!

But why do I have to care for them?

I wonder why it always happens. Why do you have to give everything when you can't even take a single thing back?

It's really hard to pretend you're strong enough! It's really hard to prevent your tears from falling down!

I don't know but many tears came falling down from my eyes and I started sobbing.

I covered my face with a pillow to lower the volume of my sob. I don't want to show them how I get hurt at everything!

After I calmed down my self a little bit, I decided to go downstairs.

Camille, don't ever show them you're weak at everything.

Maybe someday, there target will be your weakness points!

I must go downstairs! I won't let them notice my tears!

I went downstairs after I wiped off my tears.

*Downstairs

"It's too early for the night to come. I guess this is the right time to test your ability. We don't have enough time so we must manage it wisely" Brylle coldly said.

"Come on, Camille let's go to the training room!" Azalea called me. I nodded and went with them.

*Training Room

We just entered a door at the end of the corridor.

It was Kyle who opened it and let us in.

When I entered I feel something strange. Have I ever gone here?

"Elites, stay on the other side. You, come with me" Brylle commanded.

We parted ways with the other Elites.

I just followed Brylle's footsteps and we ended at the center of this whole room.

"With your own ability of self defense and protection, you must be able to pass this first stage. Remember, it's still stage one" he coldly said and left me at the center.

I looked at him as we walked away. I sighed and looked in front of me. I'm so terrified because there are too many knives coming towards me and what's worse is that they're just a half meter close to me.

I don't know what to do so I just dodged everything that is about to hit me. There are too many of them that I didn't dodge that made bleeding wounds on different parts of my body.

Then, it stopped throwing knives.

"What does this mean?" I asked while catching my breath.

"A part of testing your ability" he coldly said.

What?! I'm so irritated at once. This one is really insulting me! He could've explained a little bit!

I just face in front again. For the second time, another bunch of knives are coming towards me. It doubled in numbers.

W-What will I do here?! They didn't even gave me a tip!

"Concentrate!" he shouted. How could I even concentrate if this knives' numbers are endless.

Think Camille! Think!

The bunch of knives are coming too close to me.

My brain enlightened.

I catched two knives at the same time. With the knives I hold, I defended the knives coming towards me. It's like having a sword fight with the use of knives.

I avoided almost half of them and defended the almost other half. But because of being unlucky, there are still so many of them that hit me.

Because of the unending knives coming towards me, I lost my strength. I rolled at the side where there are few knives released.

I'm so weak already! What should I do?! I don't have time to look at the Elites to ask any advice.

What if I just stop those knives coming towards me?! Good thinking Camille!

I noticed there are five holes where multiple number of knives come from.

Without hesitation, I ran towards it carrying five knives with me and dodging each knife I encounter.

When I'm near enough at one of the wholes, I put one knife in it to block the others coming towards me.

I did it with the other four wholes.

I succeeded but I wasn't able to avoid the other knives from the last whole so I couldn't block it.

I'm now running backwards blocking each knife I encounter using the only knife in my hand. When there aren't too much knives, I grabbed the chance to throw my last knife at the last whole to block the knives coming from it.

Luckily, I blocked it successfully.

There are no more knives coming towards me. I did it! But I am not good enough because it is my first time doing this kind of thing. And because of too much bleeding wounds, I laid down. I can't move anymore. I'm still thankful that everything are just wounds. Nothing hit me directly.

"You're not done yet. Show your full force!" Brylle screamed.

I am new in this okay?! I can't do this at once! I just closed my eyes trying to catch my breath and didn't answer back.

"Brylle, she needs a few minutes to recover!" I heard Aspen's voice.

"Fine. Five minutes" Brylle coldly answered.

A few moment later, I felt someone carried me.

When told me to sit down, I noticed it was Aspen. I kept silent and just sit there while Angel is wiping bloods coming out from my wounds.

"It's too hard right now Camille. But I can see you have a great mind. In this world, you must put your full force in everything. Move, before the eneny eats you're strength" Kyle advised me.

"I-I d-don't have any idea of w-what's going on h-here! Can someone explain?" I said breathlessly.

"It's all up to Brylle" Aster said. Then I just rolled my eyes as Brylle called me again.

"You can do it Camille!" Azalea screamed.

When I came near to him, he asked me to go with him to the other side of this room.

When we arrived at the other side, I saw lots of shining weapons.

"You have a good brain. And with your moves a while ago, I just realized that archery suits you more" he said.

I kept silent while staring at him. I don't know but right now I'm still irritated of him not explaining the instructions!

"This time, your enemy is a stronger one not just knives" he said. I was shocked. What does he mean?

"You already lose half of your strength but your enemy will be stronger than those knives" he said.

He gave me an archer together with the arrows at and commanded me to go at the center again.

I followed him with my confused mind. What does he mean about that?

Now that we are at the center, he faced in my direction.

"Kyle! Water Clones!" he screamed and Kyle came running towards us.

Then suddenly, there are three Kyles and one Brylle in front of me. Brylle and the other two Kyles went away from me. W-what's this? Water Clones is what Brylle said, right?

Water Clones! Does it mean these Kyles in font of me are made from water?!

I flipped back and started hitting my targets. I hit the other one and it turned in to water! I'm right at my expectations! They really are made from water!

And now, only one is left!

Then a huge wave just appeared in front of me and is heading towards me of course.

"Ouch!" I whispered as a little drop of water made another wound on my right leg.

What I'm just doing is avoiding to get wet. A few moments later, the water carried me and bumped my head at the wall. Then my sight started to turn everything black. If ever I succeed, thank you. If not, atleast I did my best. Just better luck next time.

I aimed three arrows and let it go at once.

Luckily, I hit the clone with my one arrow and the other two hit the wave that made it disappear. Then, my eyes just closed.

Atleast, I defeated my enemy.
