1 Tan Lixia
It was a hot Saturday afternoon in Melbourne. The sunlight shone bright and scorching hot, it was 42C outside, one of the hottest day in the summer. Tan Lixia currently sitting on a Belgian roll arm sofa, sipping her iced peach tea while reading her favourite webnovel.
Suddenly she heard a commotion outside. Lixia put her iPad down and walked to the back porch. Outside the sliding door, she sees a cute koala crying pitifully. "Chenmo, you came! Are you thirsty? Let me get some water for you." Lixia goes to the kitchen to get some water in a big bowl.
"Chenmo, be good, move a little so I can give you water." Lixia trying to coax the cute koala. Looking at Lixia carrying a bowl with his black eyes, Chenmo started to crawl to his usual spot.
"Good boy, here's your water, drink slowly okay? You must be really hydrated now." Lixia watching Chenmo drinking water greedily. She wants to pat his fluffy bottom but try hard to resist the urge. Chenmo looks docile but he's still a wild animal.
After satisfied, Chenmo look at Lixia and then he crawls to the nearest tree. Lixia fills his bowl again, afraid he'll get heatstroke because of the hot weather. After that, she went back to her novel.
Tan Lixia looks like a typical teenager. At the age 19 she graduated from university with honour. She studied politics science, majored in international relations. She wants to serve her country by working at Ministry of foreign affairs as a diplomat, like her maternal grandpa. After retired Grampy Sugihara now living in Kyoto. Her biological dad, Tan Yizhen was the CEO of Tan Corporations. Her biological mother, Sugihara Aiko was a famous architect. Her parents passed away in a car accident when she was two years old. A drunk driver ran over their car during their family holiday in Bali.
After the devastating accident, Lixia dad's cousin adopted her and brought her to Australia. She has two older brothers who adored and pampered her too much. Lixia loves books, baking, traveling, and eating. She doesn't hesitate to go travel far away only to try delicious food. On one crazy weekend, Lixia dragged her best friend Park Yoona early in the morning to the airport and they flew to Singapore because Lixia wants to eat hainanese chicken rice from her favourite stall.

She continued reading her novel, she was feeling lazy to pick up the phone. After the third attempts, Lixia no longer possible to ignore the call. She swiped the screen of her phone.
"Xiaxia! Congratulations you Miss smarty pants. I just heard the news. Magna cum laude?! Girl, what did you eat everyday, huh? Where are you now?" Park Yoona sweet voice sounded from the other end.
"Thank you eonnie, I'm at Frankston. I need a break from city life. Why did you ask?"
"Let's have dinner together tomorrow, I want to see you before I'm going back to Korea next week." Yoona sounds really sad.
"Okay, come over to my place. I'll make samgyetang for us. These past few days the weather was really hot, we need some nourishment. Do you want me to cook anything else?" Asked Lixia.
"Lixia, can you do me a favour?" Yoona voice turned coquettish.
"Haha, I know, oatmeal raisin cookies, white chocolate macadamia cookies and homemade raspberry jam, am I right?"
"Yes, yes, you're the best. Aigoo, I'm going to miss your cooking and baking so much when I moved back." Yoona started to feel sad again.
"Don't be sad, I can visit you in Seoul, right? Okay, hanging up now. I need to go back to the city and do some grocery shopping for our dinner tomorrow." After saying goodbye, Lixia disconnected the call.
Lixia started to clean the house and make sure she locked all doors and windows before walking to the nearest train station. Her parents insisted to send a driver to pick her up but she refused. Lixia likes to keep low profile. Beside, public transportation in Melbourne isn't bad. While waiting for the train to arrive she texted another important person in her life.
[Taeyang Oppa, do you have free time tomorrow? I'll make samgyetang and bulgogi, I want to send some for you. Yoona eonnie wants to meet up before she goes back to korea]
Not long after, she received a reply.
[Little squirrel, I don't have any plan tomorrow. I can come to your place. I will bring your favourite madeleines]
Lixia smiles when she read the text.

It's almost 3pm, Lixia went to a supermarket near her apartment. Usually, she lives with her parents at the family house. But sometimes Lixia prefer to stays at this apartment in the inner city when she needs peace and quite. After making sure she got very ingredients she needed (and her favourite rum raisin ice cream), Lixia walks home. She puts all the groceries away then call her mum to tell her she will go home on Monday instead of tomorrow because she had dinner appointment with Yoona and Taeyang. Feeling tired, Lixia makes a quick dinner. It's Thai green chicken curry with noodle. After taking a long bath, she sets her alarm and goes to bed.
