5 V.1-C.5│Old and New II│

Kushina Uzumaki.

She had a round face, which, with her red hair naturally framing both sides of her face, giving her the resemblance of a tomato.

When not being a kunoichi, her attire consisted of a sleeveless kimono-style blouse that was yellow in color and held closed with a green obi over a short-sleeved mesh shirt with a pair of dark blue shorts and brown shinobi sandals.

As a kunoichi she wears a short-sleeved, tan kimono-like blouse with a dark embroidered border, held closed with a black obi, a dark short skirt and stockings that stopped at her thighs along with the village's forehead protector and brown sandals.

With violet colored eyes, she was dead determined on her goals.

It would be three years from now that she was the unfortunate victim to the fate known as becoming a jinchuriki. Meaning she is currently thirteen years of age.

Even so, she was still determined to become the Hokage for the Village Hidden in the Leaves. This desire so powerful, that it was the only thing on her mind due to a lot of things that had been influencing her.

Specifically Mito Uzumaki, a member of her clan. The destruction of her home village, and having no where to belong, even if she was sent here to become the new jinchuriki. She was unknowing of why exactly her home was destroyed, but the only thing she could really do is try her best in the here and now.

That meant becoming strong enough to achieve her goal. Having become a Chunin rank shinobi recently enough, she is well on her way to the top.

In fact, having been brought here at the age of eight, she was practically malleable for the village, and its desires. However, Kushina being the child she was, is unawares of the evils in the world, only having come to know of the hate a jinchuriki receives.

The thing is, she doesn't even have it at its worst, for although kind of an orphan herself now, she didn't have to deal with random people just knowing about her and looking at her with hate.

Or more specifically, random civilians of the village of those within to see her differently.

Sitting down at her favorite place to get some food, she orders some ramen for herself to eat, and her appetite is rather big. Not that her current level of pay doesn't satisfy her palate, but sometimes she does wonder if there is some place she could call her home for a small while.

"Kushina?" A voice said and she looked around, to identify her older friend, Mikoto Uchiha. Having gone out on a mission before, the two hit it off quite well, but she has noticed that the older girl was not going on missions as often as she did.

Especially in these times of war as well.

"Mikoto!" Smiling evilly, Kushina had just found her target in providing for her current eating spree.

Mikoto looked at her smile and shivered a little, before coming closer and being seated next to her. "How are you?" She asked, knowing about her current status as the jinchuriki for the Kyuubi.

"I am fine. How about you?" Kushina smiled happily, knowing she has a good friend with her.

"The usual, I guess. There has been some interesting things happening, and some annoying things as well." Mikoto sighed, before having her order taken as well.

"Problems? Yeah, why aren't you taking missions anymore?" Kushina asked.

"Its not that I don't, I do. But I have more important things to take care of right now." Mikoto replied, and Kushina was not sure of what she meant.

"And what would that be?" Kushina asked, curious of her answer.

"You see..." Mikoto went on to explain things as best as she could, knowing her friend would not be able to fully know her reasoning. She doubts that Kushina even had any connections like the one she has developed with Obito.

"I see..." Kushina was surprised by her friends willingness to do what she is doing. Specifically the part about sponsoring this boy, and allowing him to live with her in her own place away from her parents household. 'Wait a minute... that makes me think about my own problem...' Kushina was on to something here.

"Yeah. I will track down those that did Obito harm, and kill them." Mikoto was not unafraid to express her feelings with the other girl, as they had grown close enough to share some personal things.

Like being a jinchuriki. "I wish you success. However, about how you said you are now becoming the sponsor of that kid..." Kushina was calm on the outside, needing to pull all the stops for this to work.

Right now, she would convince Mikoto to also take her in, having already gotten an explanation of where Mikoto has decided to post up. Also, it would be with a friend and a harmless kid.

'What could possibly go wrong?' Kushina thought to herself.

"Hello there, I'm Kushina Uzumaki! You are looking at the future Hokage!" The red headed 13 year old said as she introduced herself to the boy known as Obito Uchiha.

He was staring at her strangely, and it almost seemed as if he was about to cry in her presence. 'Did I do something wrong already...?' Kushina thought to herself, her own feelings about this situation strange as well.

For some reason, she felt as if she should know of this boy. As if he was somehow within the back of her mind, but she couldn't quite place it. "Eh... Are you ok?" She asked as the three year old boy didn't say anything to her.

Shaking his head, Kushina watched as Obito smiled a little bit before approaching her and started to introduce himself. "Hello. I'm Obito Uchiha." Obito replied to her, his eyes looking at her in a way that she couldn't quite place.

It wasn't uncomfortable, but it was certainly strange to see the little boy that her friend Mikoto is 'sponsoring,' be so friendly. She wasn't expecting this from someone from the Uchiha.

Mikoto herself left an impression that the Uchiha are kind of cold when they had first meet each other.

Now though, it seems like Kushina would have to reevaluate her perspective on the clan. "Hello, Obito. You may call me elder sister." Kushina was friendly enough, even wanting to get closer with this child some more.

She felt strangely compelled.

"Elder sister..." Obito seemed to think on this for a second. "Ok, elder sister." Obito smiled at her, and she thought of him as cute.

Coming closer, Kushina practically started to strangle Obito as she hugged him very tightly. She felt as if she was already close to him. It was a strange feeling to have, but she liked it, and as she hugged him she felt as if she was with family.

'But why...?' Kushina did have a little confusion, but would put this on the back burner for now, as she felt daggers being stared into her backside. "Hehe." She giggled a bit, before placing Obito down as she turned around to face Mikoto, whose face looked serene, but Kushina felt maybe there was something more to it.

"I didn't know you would get along so fast with him." Mikoto directed towards Kushina, as she placed a hand to the back of her head.

"W-Well... I didn't know that either." Kushina replied, her features coming in as she was maturing.

Obito didn't think or say anything, just enjoying this moment silently as he finally was able to see someone that he wished to see once discovering he was reborn. It felt like a dream. 'It could be a dream. This may very well be some twisted illusion made by Madara through the Infinite Tsukuyomi.' He thought to himself, as Kushina was escorted to her own room by Mikoto.

Granny Masumi had already gone back to her own house, repaired as it was within a short time using her saved up money, but she much too afraid to have Obito come along with her.

So, Masumi left Obito in Mikoto's care, which made it harder for him to do the things he would like. While yes, he has an excuse about how to know and utilize chakra, that didn't mean he could go off and start doing ridiculous and powerful things.

Using techniques like the Sage Arts... 'Which reminds me. I will have to retrain myself in pretty much everything I know of.' Obito frowned at this, for it was incredibly annoying.

Thankfully he was somewhat of a one trick pony, only having and being able to use a few techniques refined to perfection. 'Heh. I can get over that flaw now with the Sharingan, and become like teacher Kakashi.'

Again, reminding Obito of the fact that a lot of people that were dead or dying in the future would be safe. 'That is if I manage to do anything.' With grim determination, Obito would decide to double down on his training effort.

Putting this aside, Mikoto had come up behind him and taken him into her own arms. "So you like hugs from older girls, do you?" Mikoto squished Obito between her breasts, leaving Obito to struggle for a bit.

"Elder sister Mikoto! I can't breathe!" Obito exclaimed as she released him, and softly hugged him now.

"It took me, what? Two years? One year and a half? It took Kushina one day, no not even a few seconds and you allowed her to hold you so easily..." Mikoto pouted, before placing Obito down.

"..." Obito couldn't just outright say that Kushina was his mother in the past- 'Er, future? This whole going back in time thing is weird...' Obito thought to himself, before he spoke up. "You're my older sister as well." He smiled, not really knowing why Mikoto was upset, but nonetheless made up with it through his cute smile.

Sighing, Mikoto looked at his face, before replying. "I know." Shaking her head, she continued. "I am going to bed, and you should go to bed as well. Kushina is someone that will be staying with us for the foreseeable future."

"Ok." Obito nodded his head easily, only managing to make Mikoto wonder why Obito was so easily fine with her presence at their first meeting compared to herself.

'Whatever... Obito is mine any-' She stopped that thought process there. 'Wait, what?'

It was another night with the Village Hidden in the Leaves, with the people having to seal with the atmosphere of the current environment. War was not kind.

Even still, the people would continue their day to day lives and survive in this harsh world.

Night time, the moon was out and the stars were hidden from the world at large within the Village Hidden in the Leaves. There just so happened to be a child of around four years of age sitting wide awake in the middle of the night.

Black, spiky, wild and medium length hair, fair skin, and relatively cute features that should become much better in the future than now. There is something different about this child however, and that is in his eyes.

Red eyes that glowed in the night, with strange marks within. Two marks that resembled tomoe, two in each eye.

This very young boy is Obito Uchiha and he was currently keeping his Sharingan active, finding this as another way to constantly build up his chakra even when he is doing nothing. It also had the side benefit of allowing him to memorize everything he sees.

It had been nearly a year now since he had moved in with Mikoto, and nearly a year since Kushina had moved in as well.

The Uchiha are people greatly devoted to love and friendship, yet they tend to conceal their more affectionate traits.

When the object of their affection is lost, an Uchiha's love can instantaneously turn into hatred, leaving them more inclined to do anything and everything in their power to achieve their goals and show their own superiority, regardless of the consequences and repercussions of their actions.

This could be seen in the current Mikoto Uchiha, who while isn't that concealed in her care for the current him, she was obviously hiding some of her emotional attachment of him.

Obito had experience of this himself, through Sasuke that is. His best friend embodying these traits quite well, but he doesn't even exist anymore but something within his memories.

'I do wonder what my being means for a lot of people...' While he wouldn't say he is the center of the universe, surely his actions, words and everything else happening is changing the direction of a lot of peoples fates or destinies so to speak.

Putting this aside, he thought of his current situation.

Granny Masumi wasn't even living with the two of them and the old lady seemed to be relieved to hand him off to someone else.

Soon enough he would also achieve the third level of said bloodline limit, nothing really stopping him from improving his visual prowess.

No requirement other than using the Sharingan as much as possible, along with building his chakra and using the abilities the Sharingan has.

The best way to improve ones muscles was through constant use, and a period of rest, which also happens to coincide with chakra as a whole.

Training the body, meditating, both coming together to build chakra, and then there is his eyes, where he can imbue his body with chakra.

Making sure his eyes are used to the constant usage of chakra being pushed into the tenketsu points of his eyes.

The despair of these experiences cause a manifestation of unique chakra within an Uchiha's brain, impacting the optic nerves and creating the Sharingan.

The Sharingan's advanced form also requires extremely painful experiences, which cause the user to delve into darkness that utterly consumes them.

Obito looked out of the window of a less humble abode he currently finds himself within. The moon covered by the clouds in the night sky, and his small form now covered by blankets wrapped around himself, keeping him warm.

'Why do I feel strange when staring at the moon?' He thought to himself before falling asleep.
