41 Alliance

Level 9 Martial Practitioner.

Division Head Nar couldn't believe this. No... she didn't want to believe it.

This was unprecedented. This single fact, would change the entire landscape of the whole academy internal struggle.

A Division Head reaching level 9 was not a weird thing at all. In fact, some of the previous Division Heads of all Divisions had reached Level 9 Martial Practitioner before taking up the position.

Though the minimum requirement for being a Division Head was at Level 8, there were a few notable exceptions.

Such exception was this Division Head Syamil. He did not reach Level 9 before officially becoming the Refining Division's Division Head. Instead, he was at that time, Level 7.

Why he was even able to become one before reaching it, was because of is monstrous talent. He was the best Refiner in the whole history of the city. And no one, besides the other legendary monster, could even afford to compete with him in terms of latent talent.

This was why, the Refining Division was so powerful and influential. It had both monsters at the very helm of the division.

Reaching Level 9 was only a matter of time for the Division Head, in fact given his age, his cultivation talent was also one of the best.

It had to be known that Division Head Syamil, despite being over a century old, was younger than the other Division Heads, except for Division Head Nar of course.

Martial Practitioners will extend their lifespan each time they rank up in cultivation. Martial Practitioners under Level 4 would not have that much of a change, but after that it starts to increase exponentially.

And Martial Practitioners who who were the most talented, would usually reach the legendary Level 9 at around 300 – 400 years of their life, if they could live until then.

So being able to reach that point, in only a century, was not only a rarity, it had never even happened before.

[Was this because he refined a legendary pill? How did he reach it so quickly?! If that person knew, she would not even try to attempt this coup.]

The only reason the insane woman even had the guts to challenge the Headmaster, was because Division Head Syamil was still not a peak level Martial Practitioner yet.

She didn't have to worry about him at the moment, and only needed to make plans against the Headmaster and the Medical Division.

Now that he is one, she would either back down or simply change her plans drastically. She could not afford to mess with the Refining Division currently.

"You have been hiding it quite well, I never would have guessed that you would reach this level that quickly." She didn't even bother to try and regain her composure. She was only thinking about how she could avoid any confrontation with the Refining Division.

Division Head Syamil retracted his aura and started smiling again, "It's nothing much. I just didn't feel like telling anyone."

"Since you have reached it, I assume that your equal has also reach this level."

Division Head Syamil creased his brow and started laughing, "As expected of you, I can't seem to hide anything in front of those eyes."

Vice Head Faiz on the other hand, didn't seem surprised that Division Head Nar came to that conclusion.

She was one of the few people who knew how deep the rivalry between himself and Division Head Syamil was. If one reached a new rank, the other one would also reach it sooner or later.

Plus, if only Division Head Syamil had reached Level 9, he wouldn't have had that much confidence. Even a Level 9 Martial Practitioner can't survive a grouped up assault.

"So, what are you going to do now that you know?" Division Head Syamil asked.

Division Head Nar started to ponder this fact deeply. She needed to be careful with her decisions. If she made even a single mistake, the Medical Division would suffer.

"I propose an alliance." She said seriously.

Division Head Syamil's eyes widened and he started to laughed loudly again, "Not only did you not back down, but you instead proposed an alliance? Not bad. Not bad at all."

"Fine then, I'll accept it. But tell me something first, why did you assume that I wouldn't reject this offer?"

"Nothing much. Just a hunch."

Her face had not a single bit of insincerity. This was very different from her usual expressions thus far.

Division Head Syamil started laughing again.

[This girl's not bad. I knew she was smart, but who would have guessed that she would do something so unnatural.]

"Let's work out all the details then."

-

In the dawn of morning, Zhang Wei woke up and started stretching. It was quite a sight, waking up in this kind of fancy room.

Yesterday, since he wanted to discuss with Asyraaf about the 'plan'. Asyraaf suggested he spend the night at his house.

Since Asyraaf's house was closer and it was more convenient, he agreed. What he didn't realize was that Asyraaf's family was no ordinary noble family.

It was instead, the Gavin Family of the 10 Great Families!

[I should really memorize all the 10 Great Families' names.] He was tired of being surprised so many times.

Though Zhang Wei knew that Asyraaf's family, given how much of a genius he is, would not be normal in the slightest.

So while he was a bit surprised, he wasn't that shocked. In fact, compared to the news that Asyraaf

was the direct disciple of the Refining Division's Division Head, this was much more acceptable.

Regardless, he still wondered, why did Asyraaf not have an animal symbol insignia like the others? When he asked him, he said, "I haven't earned it yet."

Earn it? Given Asyraaf's current accomplishments, how in the world did he still not earn the right to use the insignia?

"My old man said that, I needed to reach Level 5 Prime Refiner, before I can use it. He's a bit of a shitty old man." Asyraaf answered nonchalantly.

[That still doesn't explain shit!]

While members of the 10 Great Families would have to be more outstanding than other families, especially the talented ones. They weren't really given almost impossible task to do.

Level 5 Prime Refiner may look easy, but it was anything but that. In Zarion Academy, the only High Level Prime Refiners are Division Head Syamil and Vice Head Faiz. The Elders would typically excel in either one or two types of refining.

So telling your son to be a Level 5 Prime Refiner was basically saying, 'become a doctor, and only then will I acknowledge you'.

But since Asyraaf didn't really care, there was not much to say about it.

"Sir Zhang, what would the plan be?" Asyraaf was kind of scared that Zhang Wei would think up an outrageous plan. But since it was Zhang Wei, he wouldn't do anything that he could not handle.

The Syamil Smile appeared, and Zhang Wei started to explain his 'amazing' plan.
