4 Chapter 3 - The Strange New Girl

*Inuyasha's POV*

Class was about 5 minutes from being over, and I was just playing on my phone. Mr. Myoga didn't really have a whole lot planned since it was the first day of a new school year. But my gaze just kept going back to Kagome. What is it about her that kept my attention? Maybe I'm still in a little bit of shock that she looks so much like Kikyo. Maybe it's the way she was dressed. Or maybe....maybe it's the way she reacted to me. I mean I didn't do anything to her, I just looked at her, and when we made eye contact for just one second, she had fear in her eyes. Like she was gonna get hurt. That's what got me confused, She is a strange girl I'll admit, but I guess that's one of the reasons I find her so interesting. I wanna know what's going throw her mind. I'll have to ask Kikyo about her later.

I turn my head away from my phone and look at the front of the class to see that Mr. Myoga was packing his bags. Was he leaving early or something? "Okay class, I was just called to the office to take care of some busyness so I'll be gone for the rest of the class. I hope I can trust you to behave yourselves. Have a good first day, class, bye" and with that Mr. Myoga left the class. Well, nothing like free time on your first day.

There were a few moments of silence until I heard some people the row behind/next to me whispering something. I tried to not make it noticeable when I was trying to hear what they were trying to say. I didn't really even care what they were saying until I heard them say Kagome's name.

'What?' Okay, now they got my attention. What are they saying about her?

"You know for someone who's related to Kikyo, she sure looks like a freak" Bankotsu whispers to his friend Renkotsu "Right? I mean, what with those clothes she's wearing? It looks like Hot Topic threw up all over her."

I growled at them mentally for what they were saying about her. I mean sure she dresses differently than others, but that's no reason to pick on her. In my opinion, what Kikyo told me about her seems off. Sure she may seem distant, but...

I look back at Kagome and see that she has a sad look on her face, but her eyes also held hardly any emotion, like her spirit has been broken. Just what has she gone throw to hold such little emotion in her face? All of sudden, someone threw a crunched up paper at Kagome and it hit her on the head, which caught her off guard as the balled up paper fell to the ground. She put her pencil down and picked up the piece of paper and unfolded it to see what it said. I looked at her to see her reaction.

I saw that she had a pained look on her face and her hands started trembling out of anger, but also sadness. She closed her eyes and crumpled up the paper and throw it to the wall. She just picked up her pencil again and started drawing in her notebook. I look back at Bankotsu and Renkotsu and saw that they were trying to hold back laughter. I started to growl at them, but even if they noticed, I don't think they even cared because they kept laughing. Before I even knew it, the school bell rang signaling that it was time for next class. I started packing my bag, so did everyone else.

My gaze landed on Kagome again and I noticed that she was already leaving her seat. Still holding her notebook she was rushing out of the room, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw that a piece of paper fall from her notebook she was drawing out of. It looks like she never even noticed so I grabbed the paper and tried getting her attention "Hey! You dropped something!" But she had already left the class. I looked at her the piece of paper and saw that she had drawn a forest with a beautiful Bonsai tree surrounded buy other normal trees.

'Wow! She's one help of a good drawer! Maybe I should give this back to her before the day is over.' I saw Bankotsu and Renkotsu leave the class and I remembered something. That crumpled up paper! That's right! Just what was written on it that gave that reaction to Kagome? I walk over to where Kagome had thrown that crumpled up piece of paper and picked it up. I unwrapped the paper and read it, and what I saw made my blood boil. No wonder she had that look on her face.

The paper said: Hey, is it just me? Or does it looks like Hot Topic just puked on you? Was your choice of clothing suppose to be a joke or do you normally dress like a slut? Hahahaha!

I did the same as Kagome did and crumpled up the paper again and help it tightly to my side. "Those fucking bastards" I grabbed my bag and headed to the door heading to my next class. As I was walking in the halls I saw Kagome, she looked confused about where to go so I'd thought I'd help her. I walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. She froze then slowly turn around, when she saw me her face turned completely pale.

*Kagome's POV*

I felt a tap on my shoulder and froze. 'Who that?! Is it someone who wants to hurt me?' I turn me around and see Kikyo's boyfriend! I could feel the color leaving my checks again 'W-why is he...?! No! No! No!' The words Kikyo told me just kept repeating in my mind. Over and over again the fear was filling my brain. I felt like I was having a panic attack. He seemed to notice the way I was acting. "Hey...umm are you okay? You seem a little scared" I found it hard to form words. It was like I just lost my voice "Hey calm down okay? Just take a deep breath calm down" He put his hands on my shoulders and looked me in the eyes trying to calm me down. For some odd reason, when he looked at me I felt safe. Without realizing, the color from my cheeks were starting to return, meaning I was starting to calm down.

He smiled at me knowing that I was starting to calm down. He let go of my shoulders and said "There, are you feeling better now?"

I nod my head and look at him. He smiled at me again pulled out a piece of paper. "Here" He handed me the paper "You dropped this when you were leaving the class" I took the paper and saw that it was my drawing.

"Th-thank y-you..." My voice cracks a little causing him to chuckle a little "That voice crack was cute" I blushed a little at what he told me. I wasn't expecting any of this, why would Kikyo's boyfriend be talking to me? "I'm Inuyasha by the way, it's nice to meet you Kagome" Inuyasha extended his hand so we could shake hands with each other. I hesitated, but I took his hand and shook it. "It-it's nice to meet you t-too" I say a little nervously.

*Inuyasha's POV*

As I shook Kagome's hand, I just thought the same thing in my head

'This is weird, Kikyo told me that this girl was extremely violent' But I couldn't see a trace of violence in her. All I saw was how soft and gentle her eyes were. But she also carried almost no emotion in her face excretion. It's like her soul had been broken and her heart had been hurt so much that she's resorted to being alone and not trust anyone. I felt my heart hake for her. Even though I just met Kagome, I wanted to be there for her and help heal her pain. Kagome looked behind me, I turned my head and saw that she was looking at the clock and that brought me back to reality. I looked around and saw that we were the only ones in the hallway.

I looked back at Kagome only to see that she had left. whoa! she's fast, how did she just disappear like that? Then I remembered why I came up to her in the first place. I slapped myself of how distracted I got just by looking at her.

'What a strange girl, I should get to know her better' I thought to myself then walked to my physics class. Little did I know that there were a pair of eyes watching me. As I walked into class I saw Sango and Miroku. "Hey! Inuyasha! over here!" I heard Miroku shout. I walked over to Miroku and Sango and sat down. "Hey, guys, what's up?" I ask

"Okay so the strangest thing just happened to me while I was walking here" Miroku said and I raised my brow "What happened Miroku?" Sango asked

"Okay, so I was just walking to class talking to some girls and--"

"Please say you didn't touch their butts?" Sango asked annoyed interrupting Miroku

"M-maybe, but that's not the point. After the girls left I was left alone and just started walking to class. When all of a sudden I felt a small gust of wind and BAME! Someone ran into me causing me to fall to the ground along with the person who knocked me down. I looked up and saw a girl. She had raven black hair and brown eyes. She was also wearing a lot of black and red clothing. She also looked a lot like your girlfriend Kikyo" My eyes widen at who he told who crushed into him. Miroku was talking about Kagome!

"Wait, did you say she looked a lot like Kikyo?" Sango asked

"Yep, almost identical to Kikyo actually" Miroku said

"Oh great, another Kikyo" Sango said annoyed

For some reason I got a little mad when Sango said that. for one insulting my girlfriend and two saying that Kagome was a bad person.

"Oh, will you two just stop? Leave the pore girl alone, Kagome's probably been throw enough pain already" I say causing Miroku and Sango to look at me with confusion.

"What are you talking about Inuyasha? Who's Kagome?" Miroku asks

"Oh, funny you should ask that hehe, That girl that bumped into you was Kagome, she's a new student and Kikyo's little sister. Strange right? hehehe...."

They both look at me in shock, which I'm not surprised, I did sorta just say that Kagome was related to Kikyo. "And for the record Sango" I say with a little anger "Even though Kagome may look like Kikyo and may be related to her, doesn't make her like Kikyo. She's actually really shy and timid" I say with softness in my voice. They both looked at each other then back at me wanting me to continue "She's also very distant and looks like she's been throw so much, she hardly held any emotion in her face except fear and sadness. Like her spirit was broken, no to mention that she got this really nasty letter before class was over." I pull out the letter and hand it to them.

Sango took the letter and read it with Miroku. After they read that letter their eyes widened in shock. "People wrote this to her...?" Sango asked feeling bad for what she said about Kagome earlier "Yea, and let me just say that she wasn't too happy about it either"

"That is utterly barbaric, treating a girl like that" Miroku said

"Yea, and guess you wrote this note to her" They both looked at me confused for a seconded then remembered what I meant. "Oh..." They both say in unison "Not those two bastards" Sango says irritated "I'm afraid so, and I have a bad feeling that they'll be picking on her a lot more"

"Well, not if I have anything to say about it" Sango says mad at this point "Agreed" Miroku says

I smile at how my friends were willing to try and protect Kagome, even though they never actually met her. "Then let's all agree to be her friends!" I say with determination in my voice. Both Miroku and Sango say yea in unison. The teacher comes in about 5 minutes after our conversation on being Kagome's future friends.

*Kikyo's POV earlier before second class started*

I was just walking and talking to my friend Kagura hanging out in the halls. We were talking about how stressful life can be with My extremely annoying sister. "Really? Your sister must be terrible! geez, sorry you have to deal with that." Kagura says

"I know right? It's like living in hell when I'm with her. At least I have her under my thumb, She'll never disobey, and that's one of the perks of being fared" I say with an evil looking smirk on my face

"Well I'll see you In class Kikyo, see ya" Kagura waves bye and I start walking to my class until I saw Inuyasha. I was about to walk over to him until I saw him with Kagome. I hide behind a wall and see that they are taking to each other. 'Why you little wench!! I told you to stay way from Inuyasha! And now? And now that you disobeyed me....your life is going to be a living hell now" I think with anger and evilness. I walk away and smirk evilly.

"I warned you, now you'll pay the price" I chuckle evilly to myself
