Chapter 3: Blue Sun

I slowly opened my eyes as bright light hit my face

"Good morning Anya, Happy birthday" Mommy said as she picked me up.

We started sleeping together in the same bed ever since that Lizard was seen inside the house.

news flash!

I am now 1-year-old

I can walk, and I can also speak their language.

"good morning Mom, good morning Dad," I said as I stretch

"Our precious Anya is growing up so fast, what if tomorrow she introduces a man she likes?!" Dad said hysterically

"Stop it, She's still 1-year-old what are you talking about?"

You might think how did a 1-year-old walk?

Well you see in the past year whenever I am left with the maids and my pacifier, I always exercise my limbs and when I was 5 months old, I was able to flip and that was when I started practicing how to crawl, all the way to walking. And so now I can walk but I still need a little assistance that's why I can only walk when I am with an adult in case I ever get out of balance, I can just hold onto them.

Aside from that I also discovered a lot of things about this world from the past year. Such as;

I was born in an empire, I am the only princess of the empire and my father Yohanne Lavemir Theodoreford and mother Genevieve Mary Ruth are the emperor and empress, respectively.

I also have brothers, Tristan Ruth Theodoreford which is 11 years old and Calvin Ruth Theodoreford, 7 years old.

There is something about this Theodoreford surname of ours that kinda reminds me of my book

yes, the book I was writing.

The empire in my book was named Theodoreford empire, maybe it was just a coincidence since you know in my book there were only 2 princes and the empress there had died unlike here and the empire wasn't really a highlight in my book I haven't even thought about naming the royalties in the empire since they only appear at the beginning of my story.

Anyway, let's go back to my brothers. They are studying in an academy in the empire, since it is mandatory to men, just like earth's old monarchy, only men can attend the academy and women are only taught at home by tutors. The only special thing in this world is that, Noble women with magic are taught magic at home as additional subject to learn.

I heard that Tris is a genius since he's a triple base magician while Cal is a talented swordsman. I have such amazing brothers! I guess I have a lot to look forward to in my future.

Triple base magician means he has an affinity to 3 magic attributes. In this world there are 8 attributes wind, water, fire, land, light, shadow, wood, and metal.

it is rare to have even one magic attribute that's why my brothers are considered geniuses

It is also said that the emperor has all attributes that's why he is so powerful, and that emperor is my father.

Wait, what? You're asking how I knew about all this despite being a 1-year-old?

Other than my brothers, who tell me stories, I can now communicate with the fairies. They were even shocked at first when they realized I can talk to them.

Thanks to them I learned how Magic works. As they said;

Everyone has Mana, it is the basic unit of magic, just like matter in which atom is the basic unit.

Mana is something we all have, trees, humans, fairies, even the ground itself.

Magic Is the manipulation of mana, so basically you can manipulate the mana from the ground if you have the attribute of land.

Attribute affinity varies from person to person.

The fairies said you can't learn to control an attribute, you have to have an affinity to that Attribute to manipulate the mana in it.

For example, You have an affinity to wood, which means you can manipulate the mana in the plants, maybe, to reform the tree or control the growth of a tree.

If you ran out of mana, you can collapse or die and they also said that mana Capacity is different from attributes. the Mana capacity is the amount of mana in your body while Attribute is as I explained earlier.

The fairies also said that Mana absorption is also possible but that is something you have to be born with or so they call talent.

People who can absorb mana from their surroundings are called Imbiber, and they're quite unique.

The fairies said that Imbibers are also divided into two categories,

The barren and the Revitalizers

Most Imbibers are barren, they just absorb mana from their surroundings and not produce it, while the Revitalizers have mana in them and can absorb mana from the surroundings these revitalizers are few in number and are the rarest of two.

Well, as you can see, since I can't walk around this past 1 year, I was entertained by the fairies.

I learned a lot thanks to them.

Mother and Father are busy managing the empire that's why I am mostly left by myself but we sleep together at night to avoid the lizard incident from happening again.

The lizard was also pretty common as the fairies said. They are like pests in a house (typically like the lizards we have on earth) and they mostly live in the forest. It was also discovered that the lizard that got inside the bedroom that time was owned by the intelligence or research department of the castle.

My parents and the maids were also surprised when I started talking after the incident, not clearly and fluently but I can talk so they were surprised.

I can't talk properly yet, but I am doing my best so please don't judge me, I still get lisped every now and then.

"My princess happy birthday" this is Anna my Nanny.

"thank you, Nana" and that is me trying to talk

Despite being lisped Anna smiled warmly at me.

"We will get you ready princess since today is the day you will get your God blessing," Anna said as she carried me to the Bathroom.

"Nana what is God Bwessing?" I asked.

"God Blessing is a Ceremony for every children's 1st birthday where they will go to the church and get their Mana attribute identified, and some will also get their talent identified that's why it is called a blessing"

Anna said as she baths me.

"The amount of mana we have will vary and so are the attributes. The attributes will be determined now while the amount will be determined on your coming of age Ceremony since children 6 years old and below do not have enough mana to use magic."

She explained to me

So, there is still a coming of age ceremony

The church is big; I mean huge or maybe the right word is humongous!

Or maybe it's just because I'm a baby

I am being carried by my Mother as we walk inside the church

The roof is made up of glass, and it's concave in shape, with images, like those in a pyramid.

Despite being a church, it does not have pews where people sit and pray, it's just an empty space, like a museum without display.

The walls are full of painting though and in there are portraits of people.

The floor is marbled and at the center is a ball of electricity and its sparkling and emitting flares. It looks like a blue sun and a mini version at that, well as mini as the size of a bus. I mean it's mini compared to the sun, right?

"Greetings, your highness," a man in a graduation gown of blue said as he bowed his head

"No need to be so reserved Detemir it's just the 4 of us after all" Father said jokingly to the man

"you are still the Emperor, Yohanne, you should act like it," Mister Detemir said

"since when were you bothered with such formalities?!" father said with a mocking tone and amused face

"Since my bastard and crazy friend became the emperor," Mister Detemir said smirking

"Bastard? Crazy? THE AUDACITY! HOW DARE YOU CALL YOUR KING NAMES IN FRONT OF HIS FACE?!! You should be beheaded!" My father said in a chilling and stern manner while glaring to Mister Detemir

Are they going to fight?

I looked at my mother but she was only looking at them calmly

And then

"HAHAHAHAHAHA" they both laughed even my Mother snickered and shook her head a little.

"It's been a while, Yohanne, Genevieve" mister Detemir said as he looked at father then mother and then his eyes fell on me.

"Yohanne! you bastard how can such an angel look like you?" Detemir said as he took me from my mother

"Is that how a Priest should talk?" my father said

"You were the one who told me to stop being reserved in front of you," Mister Detemir said

"oh, Anya this is Detemir Vonheim and he is the head priest of our capital, he is also your father's good old friend," mother said to the puzzled me

"She can understand?" Mister Detemir said as he lifted me up, like examining me of some sort

"Nice to meet chu," I said, slightly bowing, he looked at me with a face full of surprise and then smiled warmly.

Mister Detemir has black hair and dark blue eyes. He also has sharp features, he is like a chiseled human being, I mean he looks so handsome.

My father is a beautiful man but this man is handsome, his looks are the epitome of man, with a rather broad body figure. He is in a graduation gown so I can't really see the details but he sure is huge and not fat huge but muscular huge.

"What a precious thing you are," Mister Detemir said with the sexiest smile I had ever seen

Yes, I'm a baby with an 18-years-old consciousness so, stop judging me!!

"hey that's my daughter you perverted priest!" my father said as I felt the wind wrap around my body which kinda took me out of mister Detemir's arms.

They were having a death glare contest when it suddenly became chilly and cold, was it this cold earlier? I looked around and saw may mother glaring this way and ice spears floating in the air around her.

"Don't PASS my daughter like shes a THING!"

Yes, that is my mother, and her hair is now floating in the air, it's majestic actually if only her eyes weren't glowing and around mother's feet pointy icicles are forming

"whoa whoa whoa," Mister Detemir said as he hid behind dad, yes, the big man hid behind my Dad.

After all the chilly reunion the ceremony started with Mister Detemir explaining to me the blue sun

"This precious Anya is the Sapphire, it's a ball of Mana, this one has brothers and sisters all around the world. Anyway, the sapphire will change its color when you touch It depending on your attribute; Green for wood; Red for fire; Yellow for wind; Brown for land; Violet for Metal; White for Light; Black for Shadow and Blue for water"

Mister Detemir said

I just looked at him without responding, he in return had a puzzled expression.

"Does she know colors? I just explained the colors and attribute to her and I don't know if she understood it?" Mister Detemir turned around asking my parents

"She knows," my mother said confidently beside my trembling father

Well, at some point they are afraid of my warm and sweet mother.

This just proves how dangerous a kind person can be.

Hang in there, Daddy, you chose to Marry that woman after all.

After confirming that I understood what he said, mister Detemir put me inside the Blue sun and contrary to what I thought it wasn't hot or anything. I was just there floating, and unlike Dad's stunt earlier I don't feel anything here, there's no gravity, its actually nice, I like it here.

"Why isn't it changing?" My father who seems to regain his normal self, asked Mister Detemir

then I looked around me, I realized what Daddy was talking about, the sapphire did not change color, what is happening?

"Maybe she's a water base like me" Mother said, she looked worried

"no, the sapphire should turn light blue if that's the case" Mister Detemir said

After a couple of minutes later, the color is still the same, that's when mister Detemir took me out of the sapphire

"It seems like the princess does not have an attribute" Mister Detemir said to my parents

"But doesn't that mean she can't use magic? that she's not compatible to any attribute?" Father asked Mister Detemir

Mister Detemir had a look like his constipated or something, he did not answer my father's question.

"But that is impossible! Detemir she has my Blood and Genevieve's Blood! It is impossible for her to not inherit even 1 attribute! She even has the royal family's complete features!" Father said desperately in front of mister Detemir

"I'm sorry Yohanne" Mister Detemir said to my Father.
