4 Ambush

"With that, Master cannot bully Yanyan!" The little girl showed him a cute little clenched fist.

"Master won't bully Yanyan." Wu Juren said helplessly.

His goal for using summoning magic was to get himself a battle spirit who can fight alongside him.

Looking at Yanyan's cute appearance, he could not bear to throw her into battles and wanted to protect her from harm instead. It was like he just picked up a daughter instead of a battle spirit.

"Really?"

"Really."

"What does Master want Yanyan to do?"

Wu Juren thought a moment before asking, "Does Yanyan want to play a game with Master?"

"Yanyan likes playing games most."

Yanyan nodded energetically.

"Alright, do you see this herb?"

Wu Juren pulled out a stalk of Blue Silver Grass from his straw basket backpack.

"If you can gather more of this herb than Master, then you win. If you also happen to find the Violet Silver Grass, then you win instantly."

Violet Silver Grass was like Blue Silver Grass but had more potent medicinal properties.

"Does Yanyan get a reward for winning?" Yanyan jumped straight to the main interest of the game with curiosity.

"What does Yanyan want as a reward?"

Wu Juren forced a strained smile. It was not as easy to trick the little girl into free labor as he initially thought.

"Was Master not planning to reward Yanyan if she won?"

Yanyan look like she was about to cry.

"No, no, of course not. Master will take Yanyan to eat something yummy."

Wu Juren hurriedly tried to placate her.

He was afraid of crying children. He inwardly thought that Yanyan was very intelligent and may not be as young as she looks. Spirits were different from humans, after all.

"Okay~."

Yanyan ran off to search for the herbs.

She did not wait for him to give the signal to start the competition in fear that she would lose if she did not get a head start. Wu Juren chuckled lightly at her behavior. Children are so innocent.

He wanted to collect the additional herbs for himself. He wanted to try his hand at alchemy and join the Alchemist Association.

It would help with his financial situation considerably. He had a lot of alchemist knowledge but no real practice, so he was not sure how he would fare in concocting pills.

Wu Juren chased after Yanyan. They have a spiritual connection between them, but it would still be troublesome if she went too far from him and got lost. He was unaware that a storm was raging elsewhere.

Inside a majestic golden palace, a powerful voice shook the entire place.

"WHERE IS MY BELOVED DAUGHTER!?"

A middle-aged looking man in golden robes could be seen raging. His presence and aura instilled awe and reverence in those around him.

"Y-Your Majesty, the little princess ran off to the other side of the summoning gate."

A person in gold armor made the report while kneeling on one knee and breaking into cold sweats.

"WHAT!?"

The king's eyes almost jumped out of his sockets at the news. He fell back onto his golden throne.

"How is that possible… There hasn't been any contact with the other realms in millions of years…"

The king seemed to have aged a few years.

The only known method for spirits like them to leave the world was through a summoning contract from other realms.

However, the last time a summoning contract was made over 9 million years ago. Why did it have to happen now of all times? His daughter was only 8 years old!

"What are your orders, your majesty?" The spirit in golden armor asked.

"Forget about the matters concerning the princess." The king waved off his hands for the spirit to leave with a lack of energy.

There was nothing they could do to bring his daughter back on his end. Perhaps it was her fate and fortune to leave the spirit realm.

"Young master, are we really going to do this?" A servant asked carefully.

"Of course, we are! This young master has not suffered any serious injuries since the day he was born! I have to hack that bastard to pieces to be satisfied!" Mo Yeshi said. He took a bunch of servants with him to leave the city sneakily.

"Won't we be punished if we were caught? Killing a student is a serious crime." The servant reminded him.

None of the servants had spirit roots, but they were all trained fighters and could even fight 3-circle mages.

"If it was inside the city, then I would think twice about it, but since that bastard is outside, he can only blame himself! He is asking for death by leaving the safety of the city! We can blame his death on the magic beasts! Ahh!"

Mo Yeshi gnashed his teeth before yelping in pain.

His whole face swollen to the point of being unrecognizable. No one would identify him as the second young master of the Mo family, if not for his distinct voice.

He could not handle the humiliation Wu Juren had brought upon him. He had been slapped by his own father, Mo Zhetian, for losing the family's face.

"If you had mastered the Borg skill, would that trash who can't even use magic have the opportunity to beat you!?"

Those were the words of his father.

Borg was the symbol of a mage. It was a defensive magic spell that protects the mage against attacks from any direction. Unless the attack exceeds the Borg's defense, it will not crumble.

Mo Yeshi was learning how to run before he could walk by focusing on offensive magic first.

Mo Yeshi was very narrow-minded and blamed everything on Wu Juren. He did not think for a second that all the humiliation he experienced was something he brought upon himself.

"F*ck, where is that bastard!?"

20 minutes into searching the mountain, he was already tired.

"Let's stop by the riverbank to rest." Mo Yeshi frowned.

He did not think looking for Wu Juren in the mountains would be so strenuous. He had a weak body and did not have a lot of stamina.

"Yes, young master." The servants complied faithfully.

"Go fetch this young master some freshwater!"

Arriving at the riverbank, Mo Yeshi squatted on the ground and ordered his servants.

"Yes, young master."

While waiting for his servants to return with his water, his eyes wandered around randomly.

It did not take long before he noticed a little girl not far from them along the riverbanks collecting Blue Silver Grass. His eyes immediately lit up.

"Little girl, what are you doing out here alone?"

Mo Yeshi made his way over.

"Huh?"

Hearing someone talking to her, Yanyan looked up at the person and said, "Yanyan is not alone. Yanyan is out here with Master."

"Master? Who is your master?"

Mo Yeshi looked around but saw no one in sight. He would have never connected the so-called master to Wu Juren. According to intelligence, Wu Juren left the city alone.

"Master is Master. Why speak so much rubbish? Don't stop Yanyan from picking up Blue Silver Grass."

Yanyan pouted in displeasure. Why was this person so nosy?

"Hahaha, I see. Come, come, forget about your Master and come play with big brother instead."

Mo Yeshi came close and grabbed her hand with ill intention.

"Yanyan doesn't want to."

Yanyan tried to break free but couldn't. This caused her to be even more annoyed.

A simple water spell was sent out and blasted Mo Yeshi into the river.

"Ahh!"

Mo Yeshi screamed.

"Young master! Are you alright?"

The servants ran over and checked for injuries. They were relieved when they failed to find anything substantial. After that, they drew their swords and stood in front to protect their young master.

Mo Yeshi was in a state of shock as he stared at the "little girl" in front of him.

"Y-Y-You, what are you?"

How was this a little girl? This was a little monster! His general knowledge of magic was overturned in an instance.

No one could begin practicing magic before they reach 15 years of age because that is when their spiritual roots mature.

What came as a greater shock to Mo Yeshi was that he did not hear any chanting. Could the little girl be a spirit? No, that is impossible! Mo Yeshi immediately denied the thought.

"Master, there's a lot of bad people here. Can Yanyan beat them up?"

Yanyan ignored Mo Yeshi's question and sent a telepathic message to Wu Juren through their spiritual connection.

"Bad people?" Wu Juren figured it might be Mo Yeshi's people coming after him for revenge. "Sure, beat them up real good for Master, but don't kill them."

Wu Juren relied on their spiritual connection and made his way over. By the time he reached Yanyan's location, the "bad people" were already on the ground gasping for air.

They could not put up a fight against Yanyan at all. They were swallowed by the river water and abused until they almost drowned.

"What did these bad people do, Yanyan?"

"Ah, Master! They grabbed Yanyan and wanted to take Yanyan away from Master."

Wu Juren frowned at Yanyan's words.

It could not be as simple as that. Yanyan was so adorable. With Mo Yeshi's licentious nature, it could only be...

Wu Juren was disgusted and enraged the deeper he thought.

"Y-Y-You're the Master?"

Mo Yeshi stammered while looking at the 'Master.'

"Mo Yeshi, are you still human? Are you an animal instead? You wouldn't even let a little girl go?"

Wu Juren glared at Mo Yeshi coldly.

If it were not for the fact that he was not ready to take on the Mo family, he would have already stomped on Mo Yeshi's nuggets and turn him into a eunuch.

Simple brawls between the younger generation would not matter, but if Mo Yeshi was castrated, the older generation to come out to deal with him.

"I-It was a misunderstanding."

Mo Yeshi wanted to retort, but he swallowed his words. He didn't want to antagonize the little monster.

Wu Juren gave Mo Yeshi an indifferent glance before leaving. He could not be bothered listening to Mo Yeshi's excuses. Yanyan already taught them a good lesson. Any more would become troublesome.

"Let's go, Yanyan."

"Yes, Master."

"You did a good job teaching the bad people a lesson. Master will treat you to some nice food."

Wu Juren didn't forget to shower Yanyan with praise and rub her head.

"Hehehe."

Yanyan accepted the head rub with a satisfied look.
