Announcement of a Show

Meanwhile, in the magical world... (narrator)

A black, pointed hat sat upon a head of blond hair turned to face a large manor-like layout with a tall building in the center. She compressed her hat into the purse that she was carrying around, as not to attract suspicion of unwitting students walking to their dorms. The sun was setting, and the woman knew she would have to run faster to reach a certain teacher before they went to sleep.

The woman saw ocean blue hair in the distance, a bulky belt around their waist. It was undoubtably who the woman had been looking for. "Elise! Elise!"

The woman called Ms. Silvenda, running across the school yard. Ms. Silvenda was shocked at first and overjoyed to see the woman, but after a look at her, something seemed amiss. The blond was a mess, as if she treaded across the world to see her. The woman's boots were covered and mud and leaves as well as small twigs decorated her head.

Ms. Silvenda rushed over to her. "Aunt Lune?! What are you doing here? What happened to you?"

The blond woman, a witch from west of the LaNova where the school was located, happened to be Ms. Silvenda's adopted niece. "Elise, there's something horrible happening in Dockswin! That entire continent has decended into madness!"

Lune, in a state of overdrimatic panic started yeling in the school yard, causing a scene. Ms. Silvenda was no strnger to her meltdowns but knew she would never travel across a contanent for some minor iinconvenience. So, Ms. Silvenda took her aunt to her school ground provided bedchambers to talk. "What happened, Aunt Lune?"

"It-it was aufully obserd. Horrifying to say the least!" the blond witch whipped her nose with a tissue as tears rolled down her red, long face. "What am I possibly to do now!?"

Ms. Silvenda was troubled by her persistance, making the situation worse. "Plese, Aunt Lune, you need to tell me why you came all this way."

"It's the INN! The burned it, ALL of it!" she shrieked in remorse. "My home and income and belongings were set on fire!"

"Wait, someone burned the Inn down!?" Ms. Silvenda finna got the explanation she was wainting for. "Whose done this? I'll have them sent to the court if I must!"

The witches were both in an uproar about the insident, for the Inn was were Lune had lived all her life and run herself after her parents retired. Ms. Silvenda assumed whoever had committed arson must have been a phycopath, for who in their right mind would burn an Inn that was been standing their since the building of the town, Dockswin?

"Who did this? And more importantly, I demand to know why," despite being infuriated, the ocean haired witch kept her cool.

"It was a mob of unhinged mainiacs that hunted me down because they knew I was a witch!" she continued. "The whole world realy is against us now."

Ms. Silvenda hugged her distressed aunt, who was dirty and without a home. "Hey, you can sleep at my house for a while!"

The next day in class M-5... (Lily)

Samm raised his hand, concerned with something that everyone had been gossiping about for the last few days. "Ms. Silvenda, where is Michiru?"

I glanced at Kayhari from across the room, Kai's seat next to the pink-haired girl was empty. Soon, it might have been Kai that was on everyone's mind, but only I knew the truth. Or at least some of it.

Ms. Silvenda looked nervous, to say the least, even a little sad. "I regret to inform you all that Michiru has dropped out. She will be attending another school."

Whispers filled the room painted with illusion magic to look like a tower. If I had to guess, she was probably gone for good, back to whoever sent her to kill Ms. Silvenda and failed because of Samm. Who would have thought that Samm could convince a girl with a gun and heart of steal to start crying in an alleyway on a mission for murder? I was surly not that person, but that made it more astounding to watch.

But that wasn't the point, according to Ms. Silvenda. "Quiet down, quiet down. I'm sorry you all didn't say a fair goodbye to Michiru, but I'm sure she will be happy wherever she is. Now, on with the lesson."

"Today, I have a very special assignment for you all," the class became intrigued as she switched subjects.

"What is it?" asked Rinna, who I'm sure was excised to get into the very next thing.

"You see class, a very honored guest comes every three years from another kingdom to see the school put on a show!" I stared at the woman standing at the front of the room. A show? What the heck was going on? Since when did schools make theater a core class?

Whispers began to fly once again as she continued. "The guest happens to be the queen of Aquasoa, Queen Serena!"

"The queen of mermaids is coming here?!" Suki eyes lit up at the thought of royalty. "And we get to put on a show for her?"

"Precisely, Suki," smiled Ms. Silvenda. "Throughout the next three weeks, I will be giving you instruction on how to create your very own stage performance for the queen. I will start you all off today so maybe we can get ahead a schedule."

"Excuse me, Ms. Silvenda?" Owen raised his hand, taking his winter coat off. It might have been late summer, but resident ice-boy always seemed to be chilly. "There's not going to be any singing, is there?"

A few people in the room, such as Lance and myself could be seen visibly cringing at the idea of getting on stage and singing a song. Lance, who sat next to me nudged my shoulder and whispered to me, "You better keep an eye on Kayhari so she doesn't get any ideas that involve turning this into a musical."

"Well, you better help because that girl is unpredictable," I whispered back, and he nodded. Kayhari was somehow going to make this worse for everyone involved.

But how could anyone possibly prevent "the plan" from happening? Something deep inside of me said that this wasn't going to be any normal week in the magical world. But then again, was it ever?
