44 I Will

At the military training camp, night has fully descended covering the sky in darkness. While everyone succumbed to their nature and went to sleep.

Some were still up.

"So let me get this straight..." Levi looked at the two kids in front of him with a frustrated expression. Anna and Ace are standing in front of him wearing new clothes replacing the ones they burned

"The one you wanted to kill is this girl, and while you were trying to kill her, she turned out to be a titan shifter, like you. You two fought and she lost, when you were about to kill her, she said she had valuable information that you yourself is unaware of, so you let her live, did I get that right?" Said Levi

Ace nodded "oh, absolutely." He said

"But Vice-captain... How can we trust her?" Asked Petra while looking at Anna, she wasn't alone, it took them quite a while to accept Ace, it took Erwin, Levi and Hange the whole day to convince them and Ace was quite "friendly" and another day to prove himself to be their vice-captain and a whole week to befriend them and trust in him.

From time to time, they questioned themselves if they should really trust Ace, but again, Ace is their only hope to end the titans. And seeing that Levi, Hange and Erwin themselves have a lot of trust and faith in Ace let them be at ease.

But this girl is a different story.

"What Petra said is right, we can get what she knows from her right here and right now." Oluo reached for his blad as did the others

"Relax guys." Ace looked at his squad and sighed "She can be trusted. She holds a grudge against our enemy and she won't dare to betray, isn't that right? " he looked at Anna

"Of course." Said Anna as she smiled trying to be as unthreatening as possible

"Get back..." Levi ordered his squad to back down with a hardened expression. He switched his gaze at Ace "...she will be under your care, if she did something...you kill her. Understood"

Ace straightened his back and saluted like a soldier "Yes sir!"

"Stop that...it is disgusting coming from you." Said Levi, the squad relaxed as they know the girl will be Ace's responsibility, he defeated her once then he can do it twice.

Ace looked at the girl beside him and gave her a thumbs up which made her roll her eyes a little 'you barely managed to convince them.' She thought. Anna wasn't stupid, she knows that Ace is the vice-captain but his authority seems far more impactful than a normal Vice-captain.

"Oh, yeah Captain, We still need to kill someone." Ace said with a smile.

"Again, has this become a habit of yours?" Levi tapped on his desk.

"Nah! I don't want to do this either, but according to my friends here, just like her there is another titan shifter in this camp." Ace said it like it was a normal thing, but to Levi and the squad, it was important news.

"Who is it?" Levi took his blade and put his gear up "We will go get him now when everyone is asleep."

Ace looked at Anna and gestured for her to speak "...Julius Ceasar." When Levi heard that name, he froze in his place and sighed.

"Fuck!!" He said.

"Tsk. Out of all people..." Oluo felt very annoyed.

"What happened?" Ace questioned, he wasn't here for some time so he was unaware of what happened.

"...This name, he resigned from the training and left the camp." Petra spoke.

"He must be plotting something from outside." Anna was sure a hell that Julius is up to something.

"All we know that he said his family is rich..." Levi put down his gear and sat on the couch "Bring me some tea." He ordered. Petra did as he told and left to get some tea to brew.

"I can send a message to my father to investigate for someone who looks like him." Ace shrugged his shoulders. There isn't much they can do since he left and they don't know which family is he from.

"Tell him to look in the most influential families. He will use his powers to be part of that family." Anna stepped forward and spoke, "He has the power to change one memory of a person, he will definitely use that." Her words shocked Levi 'Another troublesome thing has appeared.' He thought.

"Will do." Ace nodded.

"Anyway, both of you must leave the camp now, go to Hange in the lockout Survey corps territory where the titans are being held for research." Levi sighed and rested his head on his palm

"Why? There is no need for that." Ace was confused.

"Don't you remember that I have sent you two to deliver a message to Hange in the lockout," Levi repeated the excuse they have prepared for the two's absence.

"Oooh!" Ace remembered and felt a little embarrassed. Anna rolled her eyes.

"Anyway..." Levi had enough of Ace's fooling around "I am taking the recruits in a field trip to see the titans in the lockout so we will meet you there in a day." Levi said, "Now get out of here." Levi kicked Anna and Ace out in the silent and dark night.

Anna sighed and started walking to the horse they used to come in before "After you..." She gestured for Ace to hop up first.

"Yeah, yeah." Ace remembered something and entered the building again "What?" Levi asked.

"Bing the bottles left, I need them for something." Ace commanded Oluo who didn't hesitate to do as he told.

"What do you need them for. Wouldn't you exhaust yourself like that." Levi wondered.

"This is very important." Ace said. Once Oluo brought the bottles, Ace injured his hand and let his blood pour in the bottles, this time instead of the normal-looking blood mixed with water, this one is pure blood of the king. Anna entered to see Ace filling the bottles of the same blood he gave her. A shiny red blood that glows a little in the dark.

"Please give each one to Mikasa, Armin, Erina and to you captain. you guys too can have one each. I will take the rest to give them Erwin and Hange." Ace gave Levi the bottles he needs and took only two for Erwin and Hange.

"...Okey." Levi said. He doesn't understand why but all he has to do is drink this and give the rest to whom Ace named.

"I will see you in the lockout." Ace left with Anna and took off on the horse.

Levi looked at the blood and drank from it in one gulp, he felt his body burning but he didn't even leak a sound. He felt like something has broken inside of him, something that was linking him to someone and giving him strength, but instead of losing strength. He felt even more powerful than before.

"take yours." Levi gave the bottles to his squad who did the same as him and saved one for Petra who has yet to arrive from making him tea in the kitchen.

The next morning, Levi ordered the recruits to prepare for traveling as they will have a field trip and head to see some Titan as a part of their training.

"You can't fully prepare to fight something that you still have not seen yet." Were his words. Although some have seen the Titans, some nobles and peasants from wall Rose has not. In fact, all they know about the titans come from their lectures with Hange before she left.

"Finally!" Erin spoke with a smirk "I will be able to meet one of those bastards!" Armin shook his head as Erin returned to his old self. He will bet that he will even dare to punch one of the locked Titan after he sees them.

While everyone is getting ready and preparing their horses. Reiner and Berthold walked to Annie.

"Who will be the one to take care of those locked Titans?" Reiner asked.

They exchanged a glance between each other. Annie looked at the ring on her finger and she sighed "I will..."
