29 Kin's Thoughts (IMPORTANT)

So, we're finally here… Never did I expect that something I'd start for fun would come this far… So, thank you guys for reading my novel!!

Basically, the last few chapters were about Carla dying, the Wall Maria breaking and Karl finally inheriting Grisha's titans. So, I've listed a few reasons below for Carla's death, but please read through the entire chap cuz I've talked about a few other things as well…

First, I want to talk about my release schedule.

I've tried various timings and also different schedules, but giving out more than 7 chaps can be too tiring for me. With the time I take to edit each one, I could probably write another 1K words, but I prefer quality over quantity.

So, in the end, I've decided to limit it to 4-5 chaps a week because it doesn't disrupt my IRL schedule too much. Also, I've been tinkering with the idea of giving out extra chaps with every 250 or so power stones, but it's not finalized yet, so I'll see to it by the end of this week.

Second, I noticed that not all fanfictions go into a realistic detail on how a character interacts with their surroundings and just focus on the main cast or their humongous harem members…

And, as an avid reader, I hated that!!! Like, just take a random fanfic and tell me if it offers any further world building than what has been plagiarized from the wiki. (And don't you dare talk about those Multiverse ones!)

Also, I hate harems in general (not interested in debating about this in the comments. If you wanna know the reason, then it's quite tragic so don't bother asking…) . So, I decided to write this novel differently.

Therefore, I've written this Vol. with my main focus on character interactions and lesser system text, but the next one will explore the system's limits as well as Karl's backstory…

I'm going to be using a lot of third person POV as well as introduce quite a few new characters, so look forward to it!

Of course, I'll try to make the pacing faster, but not so much that it ruins the immersion of the story.

Finally, what a lot of you have been waiting for… The reason why I'd decided to kill Carla.

Disclaimer: This is in no way a justification for killing a character, but a display of facts that I hope will let you decide for your own.

Reason 1:

So, killing Carla was not for the sake of plot convenience or because her character was too tedious to write... It was because she had a massive death flag on her head since the very day she got pregnant.

So, after Wall Maria breaks, let's assume that Carla survives. Then her existence would quite literally become shackles that held both Eren and Karl down to Paradis and a potential blackmailing card. Either one of them would have to constantly take precautions or make sure that she continued to live.

Also, the experience of the Walls breaking would have drastic effects on her, possibly cause a great amount of trauma which would further deepen upon just knowing of her husband's untimely demise.

Now, how would an ordinary housewife cope with the fact that her husband was "eaten" by her own son, that they lived in a world where ordinary people could become titans and knowing that both her sons could very well die the very next day?

Do you think she'd accept it because 'that's how it should be'? Do you think she'd understand and move on if her children were 'eaten' like her husband?

Do you think Eren or Karl would have the heart to even consider 'abandoning' her for some greater good bull-crap?

Also, remember when she lashed out at Eren like a maniac when he just thought about joining the Survey Corps? What would she do when her sons would go fight in a Titanic World War instead?! Say goodbye like a classic Anime mom?!!

No, she would prioritize her children's safety, even if it meant to destroy their lives… And you have no idea how far she could possibly go.

So that's going to be an interesting drama, right? No! It's going to be depressing as fuck…

Reason 2:

What do you think happened after Wall Maria broke? Time skip? Training Arc? Wrong!!

Severe food shortages within the walls due to an extreme influx of refugees. Loss of almost half of the available lands, meaning no way to grow extra food.

Quite possibly, a few self entitled fools would have started a Civil War due to such shortages which would lead to demise of atleast half of the remaining population…

Remember what measures the Royal Government took to prevent that?

A dummy 'Wall Maria Retaking Operation', where almost all of the adults and 'worthless' refugees were sent to die, so that there could be more food left… This would, most definitely, include an ordinary housewife like Carla.

Isn't that such a cheap and disgusting way to die for such an important character?

In such a case, Karl would more likely rumble Paradis before rumbling the rest of the world as well…

Reason 3:

For spoilers of 139 people, I'll just say that neither of the twins nor their future selves had any hand in the death of Carla…

That's all.

For all those who hate Karl and think his plans are useless… Are you sure that you're not being led to hate him…? Just give it a thought if possible…

I'll probably start Vol.2 in a few days, so yeah… I guess I've said all that I wanted to.
