8 (7) One must go through hardship to face new light

After Mikasa settled into her new home, Amelia and Aria decided to introduce themselves. Charles was once again stuck doing work and could not come.

After the initial greeting, Amelia stuck around to talk with them once again while the three got kicked out and and started roaming around the town. As Aria still had some money on her, she decided to get some food for all three. Although it was a small bread bun, they were grateful. After walking round the area and helping Mikasa get to know the place, they headed back due to it getting dark. Returning home, they split of and retired to their houses.

Opening the door, Aria found Amelia sitting down in the table reading what seemed a newspaper. She lifted her head and saw Aria.

"How was your day?"

"It was fun, we walked across town and showed Mikasa the usual sights and we're to go for food and what not" Aria tried to help Mikasa to see if she could befriend her.

Nodding her head, Amelia gestured Aria to sit down opposite. "My child, although I have given you most of the information about the Lord Titan there is much more I wish to speak about. As your father is not home at the moment, I will give you more information about this world and what to expect when you escape from this walled world. Although you know that we are on an island, and our neighbors hate us. There is much more to the world than that. As you know, Mikasa is a Asian and is very hard to find here. However, like I said before there is a whole country beyond the walls filled with people like that. There are also lands filled with ice were no man can live except animals. Seas of fire, things like that exist in this world. And even multiple country's covered only in sand. The water in between these places are filled with salt and many different type of life fill the ocean."

Although Aria looked amazed, she knew of these for a long time already. However the worst matter has not been dealt with. "Although I like to learn new things, mother. This is not the topic you want to talk to me about?"

Hearing this, Amelia could only sigh on how smart her own daughter is. "Yes, the main subject is about to come up." With a deep breath she continued. "I will also die when your father dies"

Arias eyes widen. "What, But when I checked It only showed him?"

"My child, do not be angry. The future is always unknown until the present. Therefore it can change, and mould itself as it wants." Amelia could only calmly say this to her tearing up daughter.

"B-But if you know the future can't you change what happens? It'll be easy saving you." Aria begin to tear up as she kept on repeating on saving her mother.

"Aria, listen to me. Although you can save people like that, it depends on who. As I am a previous holder of the Lord Titan, it is impossible to have two in one go. As that happens, the older one must go for the newer one to be used. That is were my death comes in, although you could save me karma will take me away with an accidental death or even a disease outbreak. It will only be a matter of time."

Aria was now full blown crying into her mother's arms. Although she knew it wasn't easy to deal with the death of her father that has yet to come. She now has to deal with the eventual death of her mother on the date she knows. It was frustrating, even heartbreaking knowing when a close family relative will die on a designated date.

"Although I will be gone, your father is not the same as me so you can save him if you want." Still calm, Amelia replied softly to her daughter who was sobbing in her arms.

"Unfortunately I'm not strong enough. The timing of the event is when father is already out at work and cannot come back. I could warn him a few days before, but he would ignore because that sort of thing has never happened. And if I wanted to save him, I would have to expose myself as a Titan shifter. That is why ever since I found out that dad would die, I've been trying to keep him to the back of my mind." Aria again took a deep breath and readjusted herself to wipe her tears away. "Although I listen to him and his antics. It was never the same after seeming him die in the future. I never got a connection to him like i did you. It felt strange, maybe that was why you tired to stop father holding me in the beginning."

After the long confession, she had finally calmed down. Still in her mother embrace, she finally asked how.

"Just like your father. Even I didn't believe at the time. Crushed by a large flying bolder. And I get what you mean that you would have to transform to save him, the bolder is too large even the other Titan Shifters might have a hard time." it was already late. So they decided to go to bed. Aria had actually requested to sleep in the same bed as her mother for once which was very rare. As they slept together, a drunk Charles stumbled through the door trying not to make a sound. He fumbled his way through the kitchen, trying to avoid anything that could be knocked over. Upon walking up to his bedroom he found the picture his daughter made hung up. As he scrutinised it, he found something wrong. "Was there a large looking hole drawn into the wall, was that there before?"

After checking the drawing he walked in to find his wife and daughter sleeping together. 'What a sight to behold. Better leave them be'

Sighing, he quietly closed the door and slept on the sofa for the night.
