60 Breaching the Barrier

Slowly Jake stood up from his bed, he picked his sword from behind his cupboard and left the room.

It was already past curfew, so no one should be out by such time, though Jake doubted the school ever enforced the curfew.

"Jake, Jake"

Jake almost fell from the stairs in shock, wasn't everyone supposed to be sleeping still this time.

His brain eventually processed the voice.

"Levi? What? Why are you awake?" Jake was shocked.

Levi ignored his question and asked one of his, "where are you going?"

"You scared me" Jake answered, trying to veer off the course of the question.

"Sorry" Levi said flatly "but where are you going to" Levi asked again.

"Just for a stroll. I couldn't sleep, so I guessed I might just walk it out"

"With your sword?"

Jake couldn't think of any more excuses to come up with. Moreover, Levi was not dumb. If he tried to lie it would probably be obvious and he wouldn't fall for it.
