34 Chapter 34

(A/N: I'm sorry guys, its been a very tough couple months, I just didnt have time and I wasn't in the right headspace to right the next chapter, sorry for dropping off the map with this book🙄)

"You guys seem exhausted."

Toni smirks, "We were up late last night."

"Yeah? Doing what?" Turner asks,

"Guess you won't find out." Neo jokes,

They grin at the girls, "Fine, be that way." Tinker chuckles,

They climb onto the stealth jet and buckle in. They wait for it to take off and they fly to meet one of the militia leaders.

The jet lands and they rush off, distant gunshots and explosions sounds. Atlas exhales hard, the State really is at war, these aren't militia's, its the rebellion.

They are led by Selina to a nearby building, rubble and dust cover everything. They hurry into the sanctuary filled with soldiers and injured civilians.

"You're the syndicate?"

Selina nods, "Yes, we are here to help."

Relief seems to wash over everyone in sight. Toni smiles at it. "We are taking back what is ours!"

Everyone throws their hands up that is able and cheers. A young Asian, an older black man behind him and maybe forty year old white woman by his side steps forward. "I'm Ricky, this is Eogan and Lavender-"

"Just call me Lav or Lavy." She says,

"We are the leaders for this rebellion, it's freaking good to see you guys."

"Those guardians hit hard."

"We'll hit harder."

They look at a guy in front of the crowd, arms crossed and smiling at them.

"Guys this is Max Cross, he's ex military."

Atlas frowns, "Not our military?"

"He doesn't like to say."

"Just know I'm on your side...I'm a really big fan of the way you just like, destroy everyone that gets in your way." Max says to Selina,

She raises an eyebrow and looks at Neo and Ashe. "You are pretty ruthless." Neo says,

"In the best way obviously." Ashe says,

Atlas and Toni grin.

"What's the plan?" Lavender asks,

"We found three potential buildings that could be HQ, we can't tell which is which, we need to hit them all." Ashe says,

"Okay, what do you want us to do?" Ricky asks,

"Hold on! Hold on. If we hit one, they will know we can take the buildings and secure the one we need to hit. It will likely be impossible to take it."

"What do you suggest Eogan?"

He looks at Atlas, "You guys may not have the numbers, but together, we do. We should hit them all, there should be like...say three groups, but it will all seem random. The group that finds the building we are looking for, focuses on taking it, the second group could focus on becoming a double sided blockade, nothing gets through, but they also defend our lead ground, the last can split and join the barricade and the other part can be overwatch."

Ash's eyes widen, she simply raises her hands and claps four times. "That sounds like a good plan to me." Toni says,

"I can manage satellite overwatch, I'll call out what i see to everyone." Neo says,

"Alright Eogan, not bad. Let's get to planning this out in detail."

It takes them half the day to plan it out, but by night, they are ready. From then till the next evening, everyone basically keeps to themselves, anticipation and anxiety in all of their hearts, nevertheless, they all are ready.

Selena pulls Toni in and hugs her tight, "Please be safe."

Toni smiles and hugs her back, "We are gonna win."

Atlas looks at them and smiles, they are so close, even though no one says it directly, this can go either way. But it's ending, one way or another.

Three ships, three pairs of leaders, dropping to meet their armies. Atlas curls his fingers and takes a steadying breath as he grabs a strap hanging from the ceiling of the plane. Selina flashes him a smile, "We got this Atlas."

Atlas smiles at her, that was all he needed, he pops his knuckles and they walk to the back of the jet as the door drops open.

Selina touches the radio on her throat, "Bravo following Alpha."

"Copy, this is Charlie, right behind you."

Selina looks at Atlas and they dive off into the rain, water splashes against their faces as the wind blows back his hood. Adrenaline pounds into them. The colorful lights below begin to grow in size and illuminate what is about to be the battlefield. 6 miles to his right is Ashe and Lav.

"Deploy!" Ashe says,

Selina pulls her chute, the wind catches and feels as though for a brief moment, it halts them at 100 feet. However, they plummet fast, no one below suspecting anything.

Ashe cuts her chute when she's close enough, and rolls to her feet. People around them gasp and stop to stare in shock or fear or both. Ashe raises her hands, "Let's finish the end of this."

Ashe throws her hands together, several windows of the tower explode. After a few seconds, several drones fly overhead and flash lights down on them.

"Priority target, stand down, do not resist arrest."

Ashe smiles and closes a fist, the glass shard fly off the ground and from the buildings, tearing into the drones from behind before they can react. The drones drop and smash against the ground, sparks shooting from them.Lav sticks her fingers in her mouth and soldiers pile out from buildings and under awnings and their hiding places.

Eogan and Toni walk up to the wall, they look up the tall tower, Toni brings back her metallic arm and rams it into the wall.

CRACK!

Eogan jumps and examines the crack on the wall, it travels up several stories. He smiles, "You are a beast Toni."

She snorts, "Let's finish this."

Toni turns and waits for the guardian that is patrolling the area to land and pull a machine gun. "Get on the ground! Now!"

Toni narrows her eyes, "I seriously thought you wouldn't be this easy to predict." Toni says,

The guardian scoffs, he taps the screen on his wrist. Toni feels the soft shaking, she looks up, a huge cement panel slides open, an equally terrifyingly sized turret springs out. Her heart drops, she looks at the resistance behind the guardian, coming out into the streets.

She jumps as the turrets really loud buzzing shatters in the air, the resistance members yell and dive back into the buildings, the guardian takes aim. Toni's eyes widen and he unloads his clip.

"Selina, Eogan, we got turrets coming out of the freaking building over here!" Lav shouts,

"So do we! We'll have to deal with them on our own. We got this! Find a way!" Selina shouts,

"Can you throw glass at it?" Lav asks,

Ashe shakes her head, "It's like the fricken thing eats it!" Ashe spits,

She looks at Lav who takes a breath, "We got this! It's motion censored." Lav says,
