54 The Next Step for Runes, the Language of Gods

Xiao Li looked at the new floating island which will be added to their Sect.

He was still having a hard time believing that they would have Frozen Cloud itself added to their very Sect. 

A large population of ethereal beauties, it's amazing and at the same time, troubling, as not many of them know how to act around these ice beauties. 

The moment the island was at the same level as their islands, it floated closer, close enough to make a bridge.

"Heavens, that island is so big! It is several times bigger than our own." The second elder said with disbelief. 

"Yes, Long'er did say that the area has a lot of cold Crystals, which we use for Formations and Artefact creation." The Sect Master said with a thoughtful look. 

"Sect Master…he took the entire mine WITH the Palace!?" Feng Baichuan, the elder of Phoenix Hall, said with disbelief. It never came to him that something like this was possible.

"Yes, this opens up quite a few avenues for us," Xiao Li said while stroking his chin.

While regular people set up towns around mines, they could just take the land with the resources. Use the land to expand the Sect while continuing to mine the materials from the ground.

Truly, this is simply ingenious; they can continue to move even after taking the land! 

"It truly does."

At that moment, all the elders came up with the same idea. 

'Long'er needs to teach the Sect how he is doing this. This way, he wouldn't need to do this by himself.' Xiao Li thought with a serious nod.

Besides, such grunt work should not be done by the Young Master of their Sect.

Eventually, Xiao Li, with other Elders, floated over to the Frozen Cloud. 

They were greeted by a small army of cold beauties. 

This has somewhat unsettled the Floating Cloud Elders.

"My apologies for the late Introduction, but I am Xiao Li, The Sect Master of Floating Cloud Sect." 

"There is no need to apologise. We have been informed that everyone is cultivating after the recent developments. This is something we understand very well." The Grand Mistress said with an understanding nod.

She would cultivate as well when one has such a building built. 

"Many thanks for your understanding, Grand Mistress."

The Fairy nodded before deciding to get to the point.

"Now that we are part of the Sect, what kind of system will we follow?"

Feng Qianhui asked curiously.

Her being Elder of the Frozen Cloud Hall will allow her to spend quite a considerable amount of time with Xiao Long.

"Well, Grand Mistress, you will be the Elder of Frozen Cloud Hall. You can construct the hierarchy of the hall yourself."

"I see. My thanks for allowing this."

Xiao Li simply nodded.

That moment Xiao Long with a red-haired girl landed not far from them and with a few steps, they were next to them. 

"Grandfather, you finally left the Cultivation Tower."

"Hohoho, as you can see, this old man is close to the Throne!" 

"Indeed. After you are done, I will give you a few pills which should increase the potency of our Xiao Bloodline."

After saying that, he looked at the pair of Mistresses who were looking at him with some heat.

"I suppose we should get all the small details out of the way."

"Of course." 

Xiao Li noticed how these two Mistresses were behaving around his grandson. He doesn't know if he should be proud or jealous of how his grandson has them around his finger.

It's simply impressive.

"Good, then, Grandpa, you do your thing. I am going to rest for a bit."

"Good, take a breather, Long'er. I will see you later. We will discuss what to do next after that."

Xiao Li saw how the Mistresses reacted to this. They are saddened that Xiao Long is leaving.

When I returned to my home, I was greeted by Xiao Lingxi, who had three new maids behind her. Two of them were battle maids.

"Lingxi?"

"Young Master. These are the three remaining Fairies who decided to join your household as maids. Mu Lanyi and Jun Lianqie have quite an impressive talent for battle, so they will be joining the battle maids."

"Oh? How impressive are we talking about?" I was quite curious here. They all say that the talents of the mortal realm and the Realm of Gods are different. 

In most Xianxia tropes, it is true. But in Primal Chaos, it's different because, technically, there is no 'higher' world. Blue Pole Star is this 'weak' because it's at the edge of Primal Chaos.

"Mu Lanyi has Tier 2 talent for swordsmanship." Xiao Lingxi pointed at the big sister of Mu Lingxue. 

'Oh, so she is just like Lingxue. They are both talented with sharp weapons.' I nodded sagely —so, another pair of beauties. Like any Young Master, one should collect beautiful siblings like that.

"And Jun Lianqie has a talent for fighting in general, reaching Tier 2," My eyes widened momentarily as I gazed at her.

The beauty had that lithe body type which is made for sports. Yes, she would look well in those tight gym clothes. 

"Impressive. How many Profound Entrances did you have originally?" I asked curiously.

"Reporting to Young Master. Lianqie had 14 Profound Entrances."

'Hmm, with how broken Frozen Cloud Arts originally were, she would have most likely died in the early stages of Emperor Profound realm, or perhaps never even reached it at all.

With how the Palace was made, only people with 15 of 16 entrances could survive long enough to reach the Throne.'

"Very impressive." I nodded at her. I could see how her eyes almost sparkled at the praise.

"I will be teaching you to fight personally." 

"U-Understood, Young Master!"

After this, I looked at the last remaining fairy and by no means she is the least. Murong Qianxue has a 'gravity' to her. Her assets are impressive.

Truly, a well built pillow indeed!

"Murong Qianxue will be the newest addition to the maids."

"Young Master, I am ready to serve in any way you like." The beauty slightly bowed, which made her big assets jiggle.

'Wow.'

"Nice to meet you, Qianxue. I will see you around."

The beauty nodded as I proceeded to walk into my room to relax.

Xia Qingyue was perplexed by the situation she was in. They added Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace into the Sect.

She feared for this day. 

The day when thousands of beauties are added to the sect!

Only God knows how many of them will become maids to the Young Master.

For this, the beauty decided to add some extra rules to allow regular fairies to join the maids. 

This is the only way she could lower the number of females barging into their household.

Eventually, after some contemplating, she came up with requirements.

High cultivation, impressive beauty, and of course, they must have a unique talent.

Simple talent for the Profound is no longer good enough. They have enough of those. Xia Qingyue capitalised on that! She saw how Xiao Long loved when girls had unique talents. 

"What do you think?"

The black-haired beauty sneaked up and ended up sitting on her husband's lap. She showed him her 'plan' written on a scroll.

"Hmm."

He quickly skimmed through it.

"Looks good."

"So you agree?" She asked with a small smile.

"Of course. Why not? You are my wife, so managing the household should fall on your shoulders."

"Very well, then Qingyue will do her part."

The beauty had a small smirk on her lips before proceeding to cuddle with her husband. 

It appears she can deal with the excess Frozen Cloud Fairies.

When Xiao Long entered the Elder Hall, all the Elders were already there. They were seated around a long table.

His eyes ended up on the Ex-Grand Mistress. The lady was dressed in Sect clothes this time around. It looked quite unique on her.

Behind her was Gong Yuxian, who was looking at him. There was some excitement glittering in her eyes.

'Such happiness just from seeing me. These poor ladies…'

"Long'er, now that we have our Third Island, where do we go now?" Xiao Li asked him as the Young Master took his seat.

"Our next destination?" The Young Master pretended to think for a bit before looking like he had come up with something.

"I think I have an idea."

He made everyone focus on him as he was about to reveal their next destination.

"Ten Thousand Beast Mountainside was home to Phoenix's Legacy. Wasteland of Death could have something similar. With our current strength, we could scout the whole area."

"This is possible. However, that place has flying beasts as well. They could cause damage to the Sect's structural integrity and the buildings." Blacksmith Hall Elder said. He was concerned with the damage such a trip could cause.

"I see your point. This is why we should proceed with developing Profound Shields."

"Oh, I remember you saying something about that before."

"Yes, a barrier casting Artefact that will cast barrier walls to intercept incoming attacks and Beasts." Xiao Long mentioned to them as he was thinking about this.

"Then it's settled. The Wasteland of Death is quite far from here. With our speed, we will be there in five months or so."

'Yes. This means we will be just on time to arrive for the Blue Wind Ranking tournament.'

The Young Master thought about this for a moment, before the meeting shifted its focus to discuss the improvements for the Frozen Cloud Island.

The first thing he mentioned was rebuilding the houses, as someone who had been living in Frozen Cloud for a month, he didn't want anything like that in his Sect.

Everyone will have a proper house, and that was final!

Apart from that, Xiao Li asked his Grandson to teach Sect members how to build in a similar style he does.

This made him think that he needed a squad of engineers; in wartime, they would be combat engineers, which meant teaching Earth Profound Energy and barrier arts.

'A specific curriculum which will teach specific arts. Nothing too excessive, like how people used to have professions back in my previous life.'

"Very well, Grandpa. I have a few ideas."

Xiao Li nodded before moving to the next part, the integration and spread of resources. Frozen Cloud Island will be growing water and ice attribute herbs, have its own Water/Ice based cultivation places and, of course, the crystal mine.

"Later on, we can reuse those caverns for something else." The Young Master said, which made everyone slightly curious and excited about how he was planning to use that much land.

Regardless, first, they need to mine those crystals.

After talking about the upgrades, the conversation moved towards explaining some things to the pair of ex-Mistresses who listened patiently about things in the Floating Cloud Sect.

Eventually, the meeting was over, and the pair of ex-Mistresses were standing in front of Xiao Long.

"Young Master, can you follow us? We wish to show you something."

"Hmm? Sure."

"This is an area left by our Founder, Mu Bingyun. As you can see over there, you have the Frozen End Divine Arts, but this is not all.

Over here, you have a special formation which can send one person away into safety in case the Palace experiences a threat of extinction." Feng Qianhui showed another set of Runes carved on the wall. 

"Hoh, this is complex." Xiao Long was impressed by what he saw.

"From my understanding, Young Master, you could use this to learn more about Formations and Runes." The newly minted Hall Elder said with a proud tone. From his tone, she knows that he likes what he sees.

This will earn her some brownie points!

"Indeed, this is the next level of Runes."

Mentally he opened his arts window and checked out the level for Rune Manifestation.

It went up by three just from reading this. So, I reread it, trying to make heads or tails of what this is specifically.

'Hmm? Now it kinda makes sense. The reason why everyone is speaking the same language and using the same letters. It was left by the Gods, but it has downgraded over the years to some extent.'

'Words have power, but not any plebeian can grasp what it means. Similarly, with how the Ice Phoenix God Investiture Canon can be described in a few words; I have been doing the same thing with my scrolls.

But this style of letters gives a better 'oomph' to the whole power of the word.'

After reading for a bit more, he finally grasped 'Space', 'Distance' and, most importantly 'Storage of Power'.

So now he, in a way, understood how the legacies left behind, like the ones by Star Gods and Brahma Gods, work. However, he is nowhere near capable of doing something like that. 

'This simple text left behind has just enough juice to send one person millions of miles away. That's some power.' He was still impressed by how Profound Energy can warp the laws of physics like that.

Yes, it's awesome! And he will abuse that! Why not? The rest do, and so will he. He was just imagining how a small pebble with a letter on it could blow up a world. Now that's efficiency. 

"Young Master?"

"Hmm? I am fine. This is very impressive, Qianhui." He turned around and faced her. There was a small smile on his face.

This small smile made her blush a little bit. 

"G-Good to know. I am wondering if we—" For a moment, she thought how to word it. "Could we continue what we were discussing before you left?"

"You need to be more specific, Qianhui." For him, it was a while ago, and his head is full of formulas, techniques and what to make. He doesn't quite remember simple conversations. 

"This, well, Since you made Yuxian your dual cultivation partner, I should be one as well." The beauty said this with extreme difficulty as this was difficult for her.

"I see. Qianhui feels left out, and Yuxian–" He looked to the side where he saw the Ex-Palace Mistress trying to sneak out as she was feeling like a third wheel now.

"Did what she did just so that Chan'er would end up with me."

"Doesn't matter. Qianhui wants to be the Young Master's woman." As she said that, she moved slightly forward, and he could see her eyes were glittering with excitement. She is thinking naughty things.

"I see. In that case." He put his hand on her and checked her situation. The beauty already had Heavenly God's Spiritual Veins.

"You are close to the [Tyrant Profound]. We can practise until you reach it."

His words made her shiver with excitement. 

"Of course, if this is what Young Master wants~." 

Feng Qianhui internally gushed even more; she might be [Ninth of Emperor Profound], but one needs an absurd amount of energy to reach the next minor realm and THEN even more Profound Energy to reach the fabled Overlord.

"Can I get three sets of [Sky Profound] Cores and Blood, please?" Cang Yue asked the Quartermaster nicely; she was in the Contribution Hall to get some materials to start practising making the Sky Profound Awakening pill. 

Once she has grasped this, she can give some to her family. This way, her family could catch up with older and bigger empires like the Navy Tide Nation and Grand Asura Nation.

Not only that, this is the next step in working with blood-related pills. 

Though according to Xiao Long, the blood purifying pills require some understanding of Runes. 

"Of course, princess, one moment."

A few short minutes later, he brought over three large sealed crystal buckets and three small boxes which had the cores.

"This will be 30 thousand points."

"... That's cheap."

"The price slightly dropped after Young Master's previous escapades around the Snow Region of Extreme Ice."

The princess frowned for a bit. She was busy with her cultivation, so she might have missed something interesting. 

"I see. I noticed that Frozen Cloud has been added."  The Princess is slightly embarrassed that she missed such an opportunity.

"Yes. Fellow sect members are terrified to make contact with them." The Quartermaster said with an embarrassed look.

"I understand that well enough." Cang Yue nodded with understanding. She had seen Frozen Cloud Fairies before. She has no idea how to act around 'proper' ones. She is not talking about the ones around Xiao Long. Those are 'different'.

"Well, we shall see in the future." He motioned to hand over the Talisman; the Princess handed over it.

Soon enough, she has 30 thousand fewer points. Not that she felt any of that. She will get it back soon enough.

After getting her stuff, the princess was walking back to the manor, but then she remembered something about 'Pill Reader'. 

This made her turn around and proceed to walk towards Xiao Long's warehouse. 

Truthfully said, this is not a 'warehouse' anymore, more like the proper workshop of a talented alchemist and artificer.

A warehouse is supposed to be a bland building, not something like his that has glowing parts, an air current flowing into it which blows away any sort of smoke as well as a bunch of instruments she has no idea what they do.

Regardless, she walked inside and found the pill reader. It's placed not far from piles of pills. 

She looked around for a bit before walking over and pulling out one of her latest pills.

It was a glass-like, very light orange pill. 

The moment she placed it, the arrays came to life.

The next second, she saw a barrier wall with text appear in front of her.

"Wow, this one is impressive!"

[Potency: Depending on Cultivation]

[Side Effects: Doesn't Work on People with Strong Lifeforce]
