3 School Life

After eating breakfast with his mother Joshua grabbed his bag and left the house. He was excited for his first day of school.

...That line sounded weird to him. He recalled the time he attended school back in Vurd. He and the other heroes only attended for a single year before training and getting experience in order to fight the demon king.

While going to school Joshua remembered the way everyone viewed them. They were Heroes. People who were going to save the world and risk their lives against the greatest evil. Most people saw them as celeberties. And a celeberty going to your school was a rare thing.

"But this is earth now!" Joshua thought. He would now have to go back to living a life where he wasn't important. "But," he thought, "it might actually be refreshing."

Walking to school was an easy task for Joshua. He made sure to memorize the commute to school the night prior. He did so using the map he had on his wall. Because of his experience in Vurd using a map was very common for him.

While in thought a buzz came from his pocket causing Joshua to jump up in fright. What was that? The buzz continued on until he reached into his pocket and took out the object he missed for eight years straight: his phone!

He hadn't even noticed it was in his pocket but seeing it again brought happiness to his face. This object made life so much easier. He even imagined how it would be living in Vurd with his phone. "Ah, the phone is still ringing!"

Joshua quickly looked at the screen of the phone and tapped the green button and saw the face of a man. Before he could even begin to recall the mans name he spoke, "Joshua! My man! You didn't respond to any of my texts last night. Are you coming to school though?"

It was Leman! He was one of Joshua's "true friends"...whatever that meant. Joshua responded after realizing who it was, "Hey Leman. I'm on my way to school. See you soon."

Thankfully, his demeaner when talking was exactly the same. Seeing that the conersation was over Leman responded with a quick "alright" and cut off the phone call.

But after the call, Joshua felt uneasy. A feeling that he didn't want to feel surfaced, but he easily ignored it and went back to thinking back to his days on Vurd and walking to school.

-----

About 30 minutes later Joshua arrived at school. The doors to the school were already open and Joshua slipped in. As he entered he looked into the school he hadn't been in for eight years. It gave him a sense of Déjà vu.

He walked inside the building not know what to do. At the front a teacher prompted him to give her his Student ID and if he didn't have it to go over to the side and get a temperary one.

The rules seemed all too familiar to him but at the same time they were very vauge to Joshua. He had his Student ID and quickly swiped and walked up the stairs. He walked into a longer and much larger area with several lunch tables placed all around the room.

Most, if not all, tables were taken by a group of students. Many of them were talking while eating the breakfast provided to them by the school. Sometimes at one section a laugh would emerge, which would then lead to all the students there to begin laughing. Something about the place brought a little but more happiness to Joshua's face.

As he began to walk around to look for a seat Joshua thought, "So...where the fuck do I sit?" he had no idea where to sit. Eight years did a lot to the mind.

"Wait...can't I just...fuck!" The solution was simple, all he had to do was use mana and probe into his mind and find where he usually sat! Joshua cursed himself for not thinking of this solution earlier.

He cleared his mind and whispered very quietly, "Animo". While in Vurd Joshua and the others realized there were two ways to activate a spell. The first was to envoke the spell using its latin name. And the other was to use the system to instantly cast the spell, which was something exclusive to Heroes.

But, Joshua didn't have the hero skill anymore, heck, he didn't even have the system anymore! So his only option was to use the latin word for "mind" to envoke the mind spell. As he used the spell a silent but deadly aura filled the air around him.

But, it was a normal thing for Joshua. He looked through his mind and found the exact seat he usually sat at. And at that specific table was seated a light skinned boy. His hair was entangled in many curls but it somehow made him look cooler. When compared to Joshua, the boy was leagues above him.

But that didn't matter, because the boy was the exact person that called Joshua on the phone Leman. Joshua slowly walked towards the table his friend was at and took a seat right next to him. Leman paused his conversation with the other children he was talking to and spoke to Joshua, "Yo, Joshua!"

He held his hand out for a dap. But Joshua had forgotten about that was was stuck there staring at Leman's hand for several seconds before realizing what his hand was up for. A red blush was evident on his face, but Leman just laughed.

"Ah, Leman really is a chill dude..." Joshua thought. If it was anyone else other than Leman they wuld have pointed out his weird behavoir or would have taken offense to the way he acted. Joshua quickly dapped up Leman with a smile and they began to talk.

Throughout the conversation Joshua felt himself beginning to understand the way his home world functioned again. Everything was coming easy to him, "and I hope it stays that way..." The uneasyness in him felt even greater, but through great mental ability Joshua ignored it once again and continued the discussion he was having with Leman.

Soon the bell rang and everyone was told to go to first period. It would be Joshua's first time going to a class in about seven years. The thought made him chuckle.

His first job, though, was to figure out which class he would be attending.
