1 Chapter 1
"Mother! Mother!" A little girl excitedly exclaimed running around the underground laboratory towards her busy mother who was paying most attention to her studies she is planning to build for something great to change the future for the people in the underground.
"Mother! Look!" The girl said holding some flowers she got from the surface while he mother turned around seeing them as she quickly smacked them out of her hand.
"What did I tell you about going to the surface!? Are you trying to get yourself killed!" She yelled scolding her child as the girl held her hand that the mother smacked as it stung a bit. The girl smiled turned to a thrown but it was the Mother's fault for talking about the surface all the time anyway.
"But it's so peaceful and beautiful it has butterflies and animals just like you said! Why would that be dangerous!" She yelled back at her mother as she crossed her arms complaining. The doors to the child's mothers office opened as a scientist came walking through catching the girl's attention immediately.
"What did the rascal do this time?" The lady asked with a smile knowing the that it was the girls doing making her mother mad before turning back to do her work. The girl sighed seeing that her mother was no longer giving her attention anymore and spends most of her time in the lab and creating robots that look human like it ones full of metal from the scrap piles on the surface for the sick battles in the arena in the underground to prove it they're worth keeping for the overtaking of the surface and metro city.
"Ahem! I have the current stats on the robots that made it through the arena professor" she said bringing her attention to the mother that sighed before turning to her as the girl stood there waiting for her mother.
"Well? Make it quick I must get these analyses done for project X" she replied back very impatient to get the work done without any distractions especially her daughter.
"We are ready to prepare to take over the surface again" she said as the professors eyes squinted interested but also serious at the scientist that stood a few feet away from her.
"Hope, you are free to leave..... take Aurora with you and make sure she doesn't leave the underground again" she said pushing her daughter away girl her and towards the scientist as Aurora sighed a bit hurt by that.
"What! You promised to spend some time with me today!" Aurora yelled upset that her mother decided to choose to do her work than spend time with her only child in the underground before sighing.
"Sure professor rose, I'll make sure that she stays hidden during the invasion" Hope said before quickly grabbing her wrist leaving the office so nothing worse will come to them. Hope took her to one of the areas for the children that are kept for education or just playing around with kids their age while their parents are away kinda like a daycare.
"But I don't wanna stay here, mother promised to spend time with me!" Aurora said as she looked back a bit creeped then back to Hope not wanting to stay here especially when the invasion was gonna happen any moment now.
"Your mother is right, You can't join us it's too dangerous the robots up there could possibly kill you, they were sent by metro city to protect the surface remember" Hope responded trying to explain in much detail not to traumatise the poor girl even though all she wanted was some love and attention her mother.
"No! I want my mother she made a promise" Aurora responded ignoring the risks as everyone looked at her seeing that she was yelling at Dr, Hope surprised some of them since she was the 2nd most intelligent woman in the underground.
"Aurora! You need to understand that you! A child can't go onto the battle field! You can't fight robots you're made of flesh not metal they're break you apart like a twig!" Hope said putting hands on the girls shoulders going to her height very concerned about the well being of one of the power-fullest women to even exists on earth.
"Fine!" Aurora said pulling herself away from Dr, Hope and ran off somewhere into the watch out in the crowd full of kids younger or older than she was. Aurora was only 13 years old when the underground began to yet again try and take over the surface and depleted their supplies and robots needed to protect themselves.
"I hate her! She never has time for me it's always work! Work! Work!" Aurora said to herself while pushing through the annoyingly close crowds of kids that surrounded her.
Suddenly a huge bang was heard shaking the room below them and probably the whole underground was shook from the collision from the surface making everyone think that they were the ones being targeted. Kids looked at each other while Aurora wanted to find a way out of this hell hole, the chit chat got louder and clouded not giving her the chance to think and plan her escape as two kids were seen crowding near a vent shaft trying not to be suspicious making her think that they would be of some use to get her out of here.
"Excuse me?" Aurora said only a couple of meters away from them as they looked at her instantly recognising her with a single glance. The two seemed to be lost in a glare as they stared blanket out the closer she got to them.
"Umm, hello?" She asked waving her hand in front of them as they shook their heads snapping out of their daze before rubbing the back of their heads nervously.
"S-sorry Aurora! Umm we didn't mean to stare at you" the girl said as she looked at the boy next to her as they began to grow a bit of resemblance with one another like twins.
"Could you guys be able to help me escape from this place?" Aurora asked getting straight to the point as the two looked a bit surprised before looking at the vent behind them knowing what to do.
"And whats in it for us?" The boy spoke as Aurora began to quickly think for something kids like them would want from her. They were twins but obviously it would be freedom or maybe seeing the surface would do.
"I have nothing but have you seen the surface yet?" She asked as they looked at utterly confused on what she said making her sigh not really wanting to do this. "You don't know do you?" She asked again as the two shook their heads not seeing the surface before giving the little rascal an idea.
"Maybe we could go their if we help you escape since you know what it is, right?" The girl spoke as the boy out a hand on his face disappointed but he didn't know what the surface was either.
"Sure, I can show you the surface but my mother is currently trying to invade it with some robots she made from scrap" Aurora said as the boy huffed a bit offended but she was talking to kids about her age anyway and probably love robots. The boy cracked his knuckles before grabbing onto the vents metal bars that was screwed to the wall with screws and bolts but he managed to full it off breaking some of the wall too surprising Aurora. With the noise he made catching the attention of some of the kids and they quickly pointed out that they were escaping.
"Oh, can I go first?" Aurora asked as he gestured for her to go through before quickly going inside the vent and showed the way out with the two others that followed after her.
"Quick Zak! I don't want them to catch up to us!" The girl yelled behind the boy as he slowly crawled behind Aurora as she showed the way through the vents like she knew them better than anyone else.
"Well sorry, some people like to stay behind a give people space..... Zoey!" He yelled back as they names seemed quite similar Making it obvious that they are twins especially with the arguing.
"Can you guys stop arguing!" Aurora yelled back before coming to one of the tunes taking a right while the both kept arguing but this time it was quieter than it was a second ago.
It didn't take long for Aurora to find her way to the nearest exit near the entrance to the surface as some huge robots walked past going through the doors entering the peaceful world that would end up being a ruin if not stopped.
"Why you stop?" Zak asked as Aurora looked back at him before letting him see the robots walking past making it obvious why she didn't want to leave the vent yet.
"Can you open it again?" She asked as he sighed going underneath her before making his way to the front leaning onto his side before kicking the vent open. A way to make a dramatic exit dork.
"Wulah! A exit to our freedom" he said before jumping out onto one of the big robots before quickly grabbing Aurora's arms pulling her up with him as Zoey jumped onto another one just behind them.
"I hope that the robots haven't hurt any of the wildlife here yet" Aurora said to herself as she stared at the light while Zak leaned against the robots head before entering the light as the beauty that was once there burned and broken as humans and robots fought against the boys that came from the underground.
"We need to get off now!" Zak said as he slid down the robots as Aurora slipped be he was able to catch her before placing her back onto her feet again as zoey was able to catch up to them as they hid behind some broken down tree that was knocked down by one of the robots leaving trails of blue blood before finding the dead robot absolutely dismantled.
"This is not how it was when I came here" Aurora said as the place she loved to adventure was destroyed by the war of the underground, surface and metro city. Zoey patted her back knowing that it would be hurting her to see something that she loved was now destroyed.
"Why would mother do this?! Why would anyone do this!?" Aurora said to herself again as Zak and Zoey grew pity to their new friend but it's hard to see someone hurting not knowing what to do. "It's not fair!" She yelled punching the dead tree leaving quite a unexpected dint into it surprising the two that were full of pity.
"Could she be one of us?" Zoey asked whispering to Zak about this while Aurora sulked to herself near the dead tree she almost broke with a single punch.
"I'm not sure but we need to keep an eye on this one" Zak whispered back to her a they looked back at Aurora who watched as everything that was once so beautiful and peaceful was now just destroyed by a stupid war but what caused this to happen? What was Aurora missing?
"What are you three doing out here!?" A voice yelled as Aurora looked seeing Dr, Hope knowing that she was gonna be in some serious trouble when she goes back to the underground so she ran away from her. "Aurora! Wait!" She yelled but he girl didn't listen to her and kept on running as the other two followed after her knowing something that she or anyone else doesn't.
"I don't wanna go back not now not ever!" Aurora yelled still running luckily not being hit by any of the robots that fired near her. Zak and Zoey were right behind her before quickly grabbing her and hiding behind a Boulder that was behind by trees of two sides of it preventing it from moving covering all three of them from anyone.
"Why did you run?" Zak asked in a serious tone Aurora curled her legs into her chest as her arms wrapped around them before resting her chin on her knees no longer smiling.
"I don't know I just ran....My body just moved on it's own" she replied back as he sighed unsure of what to break to the girl but if she knew what he did then she'll end up freaking out.
"At least there are some trees left, so we'll rest here" Zoey said changing the subject hoping that nothing will find them here. The sounds of guns and bombs could he heard behind them as the noises echoed through their minds reminding them that they're still on a life changing battlefield.
"I want to go home" Aurora said to herself as Zak sighed knowing that there isn't any other way to get back to the underground than that only entrance but even if there was another one who would know where it is.
"We can't head back like this, we're too far away from the entrance and too far into the battlefield anything could happen if we go back in there" Zak relied back hoping to change her mind knowing that they would be killed if they enter the field again without anything protecting them.
"What about Dr, Hope?" Aurora asked looking at Zak as he gulped from the quick intense atmosphere that Aurora began between the two.
"Hey! No fight you two! Remember we are here to stay alive not too each other's heads off!" Zoey yelled at the two before bocking Zak on the head as he rubbed it before giving her a bad look breaking the intense atmosphere.
"That hurt you idiot!" Zak said back to his sister as Aurora looked at the two before putting her chin back onto her knees, knowing that this would be her new life that begins on the surface with the two that escaped and joined along side her.
