"I wonder why? Surprised your brain could figure that out after I have said it," Jareth teased, causing Astrid to puff her cheeks to him as she spoke.

"Hmm, sounds to me that someone is jealous!"

"Am I?"

"Yes, and very much as at that." 

Astrid tried again to turn her head away and pull her chin from his hand. Looking up at him was so tiring as her neck hurt from it, but once again he did not let her escape.

"And where do you think you are going?"

"Away from a jealous elf."

"Really? And go meet whom, those men or Cari your new merman friend?"

"At least they are not jealous."

At her words, he could not help but burst into a small peal of laughter. This time she could see that his laughter was genuine and came from within.

She felt that dread rising up her throat the more his gaze intensified.
