18 I Hate Goblins

Aria and Larcen walked into one of the bedrooms while Mike walked into the kitchen to make breakfast. Ethan and Lily kept watch while sitting in the living room as the door was now broken.

Larcen untied the towel and took off his shirt while Aria prepared another one for him. He looked into the mirror in the room and a thin guy stared back. The muscle volume was extremely low but the little amount of muscles he had looked toned and strong.

The bleeding had stopped but the wound was still somewhat open so she hurriedly applied the ointments around the wound before pressing a thickly folded cloth over his wound and using a longer cloth to tie it all together.

Larcen felt his wound burn when the cloth was pressed against his wound. He winced but did not complain. Instead, he sat on the bed and waited for the breakfast to be done while Aria left the room silently.

'She's been awfully silent since we've entered this house. Is it because of the stuff I said back then? Hmm, I simply said what was in my head but it's better to wait and see how things go.'

He stared at the ceiling while lost in thought, not noticing the sudden increase in SP that was happening in the system background. His thoughts went from the potential future to other things before stopping at his fight with the guy last night.

He regretted not checking their stats early on and was sure that the guy had a skill that he used to attack him. If not, there was no chance of it escaping Larcen's eyes when he had his Focus mode on. Or at least, that was what he thought.

Once the breakfast was ready, Larcen joined the others for breakfast. Lily finished her food early and headed over to the kitchen before vanishing things after a touch. No one needed an explanation as they knew that it was her inventory skill at play.

After breakfast, Mike picked up his Axe before walking towards the non-existent door, "Let's go, guys. We have to get as far away from the weird tower and we have to do it fast."

The others nodded and stood up, equipped their weapons, and walked out behind him. Larcen checked his system interface as he walked behind Mike and grinned when he looked at his SP. It had increased from 3 to 8 in just an hour.

'The rate will just get higher as time goes on... this is just the beginning. I have to now think of explaining my sudden stat rise if I just spend on stat pills so I'll simply have to wait for a chance to fight some creatures... hah, if only that was easy.'

He spent 7 SP on his inventory and stopped as the cost increased to 10 SP per slot. He simply shrugged it off and bought a regeneration pill which he stored in his inventory for easy access.

Once they walked into the road, they saw those grey creatures again but this time, they were accompanied by creatures who had the same looks but with a different color. They had dark greenish skin complexion and the first thing Larcen did when he saw them, was to use his Merchant's eyes on them.

'Hah... a stat increase. Just how many more stages do they have?'

Mike and the others meanwhile, grinned as they looked at the goblins. He could tell what was in their minds and since there weren't too many goblins present, it was safe to go on an offensive.

It was Ethan who ran at them first this time and the others followed while Lily found a good place to hide. Larcen did not activate his Flow state and simply waited for a good time to assist the others since he wasn't too desperate for SP.

While he didn't really care about that, he still wanted to fill up his skill chest numbers after seeing how much of a difference skills made. His flow state pushed him to perform as well as Mike, Ethan, and Aria but in short intervals. There was also the problem with consistency as the Flow state seemed to work better when he only had one opponent.

A small dagger shot towards him and he parried it with his knife before running towards the goblin that threw the dagger. With his flow state activated, he fought the goblin for a few seconds and gave it a good bashing before taking its life. He didn't get any increase under his skill chest so he retreated and waited for another chance.

The goblins were dumb. They threw their only weapons when their target was far away and Larcen simply made use of this to kill the ones that marked him. While he was waiting, one of the goblins ran at him as it raised its dagger to slash at him.

He activated his flow state again, only to see three more goblins run toward him. It was the gray goblins that went for him while the dark green ones kept the others busy. He tried his best to kill the one in front of him before the others reached him but was unsuccessful.

Daggers and claws went for him from different angles and he couldn't escape since he was encircled.

'Fuck defending... I'll just eat the pill later. Got to kill these guys first.'

He let them attack him but evaded the fatal ones while he focused on dealing maximum damage, forgetting about aiming for their weak spots. Daggers and fingers fell while he left deep gashes on the goblins.

He too suffered against their onslaught but it was not enough to kill him. He tossed the regeneration pill into his mouth before grinning at them, "Come at me, you bastards!"

And so they did, he felt an extremely heavy punch hit him on the place where he was stabbed.

'Fuck!'
