31 Umbra Thunder-Fire Law

A cunning but playful smile is plastered on Hei's face as he looks on the new Thunder-Fire he has created. He moves this new found energy around in his hands a bit and smiles mischievously. "Hehehe, ancient dragon huh? You used to be a Transcendent Step expert? Pah! I'll defeat you thoroughly and let you understand the true meaning of genius!"

He looks on this flame repeatedly but after a few minutes, his playful look slowly turns to one of confusion. "Why do I get the feeling that something is missing? I think I am on the right track but my instincts tell me something is…off…"

Hei continues to stare on the black orb of energy and frowns. He furrows his brows repeatedly as he thinks deeply. "This is strange…what could be missing?" He thinks back to everything and slowly considers all the possibilities. "It couldn't be me lacking in control of the astral essence…It's not me lacking in foundation as my bloodline is powerful."

"I comprehended the characteristics of thunder and fire along with darkness….So…what is the issue?" Hei sits and thinks as nothing comes to mind so far. "Maybe I should ask someone…But I really do not want to! If I can't get pass this hurdle…How will I exact revenge on those bastards in the future? Will I have to ask for help? Hell no!"

Without much thought, Hei actually creates another orb in his other hand. He fuses both of them, checking if their combined power would make a difference. However, this makes him frown even more. "The quality somehow dropped…what the hell? Ah screw this!" Hei tosses the energy out of his hand. It flies straight into the Astral Inscriptions which he drew previously.

Thinking a horrible bomb would detonate, Hei is just about to move off when he ends up standing there dumbfounded. "Crap! What is this happening here!?" Hei stares in shock at the orb of energy he threw. This orb of energy actually absorbs the surrounding astral inscriptions, infusing the 3 different laws into it perfectly. The fluttering and crackling seem to increase to a whole different level. An eerie silence appears but space seems to burn and tear at the same time where the orb floats.

After it devours all the energy, Hei notices the orb actually gets much darker than before as if it is even darker than the darkest of energies. The energy seems to reach a crescendo and begins expanding rapidly. Hei runs off quickly but observes the orb. The energy expands and then contracts quickly, seemingly erasing a part of space with its expansion and contraction.

It disappears like it was never there but the destroyed space can still be seen. Hei stands there with his mouth wide open. "So…That's it! My laws were lacking! Then…what if somehow drew an Astral Inscription representing this new energy!? Wouldn't that make my energy purer!?

"But how would I draw this new Astral Inscription? Wait…the fundamentals…Just let my desires do this for me…" Hei sits down and meditates. He calmly shuts off all his senses to the outside world as he empties his mind. The only thing he thinks of is the energy he felt earlier.

He thinks of the energy he formed and the various astral inscription words he wrote. Without even realizing, his fingers slowly move in the air and begin drawing. This drawing seems to give birth to nothing special. He constantly writes which sometimes erases parts of the writing while another time it creates a piece of an inscription.

This state of trial an error while in enlightenment continues for a little over an hour before Hei suddenly feels light headed. He opens his eyes and looks in front of him. A simple and small Astral Inscription can be seen floating in the air. Unlike the normally resplendent astral inscriptions, this one is barely luminescent.

It floats there as if it is the most primitive and kind piece of inscriptions; gentleness can even be felt from it. This inscription diffuses a heavenly energy but at the same time, a kind of wicked power can be felt from it but one of naivety then wanting to be evil.

Hei looks on this new inscription and thinks to himself, "Is this the birth…of something…new?" The inscription flutters there with a gentle crackle to it that makes it even cute. He looks on it and shrugs, "I'll draw up some more at another time…I should rest now."

He releases the astral inscription so it can dissipate but then notices something strange. It doesn't disappear at all. It seems to not have moved a single inch. It quietly flutters and crackles as if waiting on something.

"What the hell? This Astral Inscription is strange…Ren…what is going on here?" From within the darkness, Ren slowly approaches with a wicked smile on his face. This wicked smile seems like the normal for him. However, Hei looks suspiciously on Ren and utters, "Why are you smiling like that? Is this something extremely good?"

If the black dragon was in here, he would surely wonder what is wrong with these 2 since Ren's face looks the same as before so what kind of difference does Hei see? Ren excitedly cackles, "Master is a genius! You have created something totally new! This is a new law in itself! This is something the heavens have never produced before!"

Hei looks on Ren then looks on the tiny and harmless looking inscription. "What…really? I did that? Well, it is not surprising I am a genius but this seems quite far ahead of my time. Or is it!? Hehehe, whatever the cause of this, I'm glad it happened! So…what isn't it dissipating through?"

Ren smiles wider and says, "That is because this new law is in its preliminary stages. Master must experience baptism from the heavens to accept this new law. Would Master be willing to risk his life to create a new law?"

Hei looks on the tiny inscription, then on Ren. "Oh hell yes, I'll even destroy the heavens if I have to just to make this work. This is my law! Of course I would not give up on it!" Ren nods as if expecting this outcome. "Then Master should create a few more of these inscriptions to trigger heavenly tribulation."

Hei sits and meditates to recover some of his energy as he tries to keep his heart as calm as possible. After a few minutes, Hei gets up and closes his eyes. He senses the astral inscription he drew and begins drawing it once again. This time, he actually manages to do it much faster than before but it still takes a bit of effort.

He successfully draws one up after around 3 minutes. He repeats this process until around 99 of them are there. Once he finally draws the 100th one, something strange happens. The inscriptions seem to form some sort of resonance with him along with the heavens.

A mystical feeling is felt and in the skies of Hei's dimension, clouds can be seen forming. If one were to look outside, a similar scene can be seen in the Dark Lands. These clouds hover over Hei's head far up into the skies. In the dimension, the clouds actually draw in the astral inscriptions.

As if inspecting them, the clouds churn and move the inscriptions around. After which, the once white clouds actually begin churning furiously. After a few moments, the clouds actually transform into something similar to the astral inscriptions. Small particles of energy slowly rain down on Hei from this new cloud.

The dragon on the outside looks on Hei's body in shock and fear. "What the fuck!? This is Heavenly Tribulation! But what kind of Tribulation is this!? I don't know this element! The fuck is this bastard doing!?"

On the inside, the energies constantly fall on Hei, every particle which touches his body actually seeps right into his very being and destroys a piece of him. Hei grits his teeth, refusing to scream but after the first few particles touch him, he breaks down and scream like a little girl.

His very powerful bloodline seems to be stimulated by this heavenly tribulation as a glow of deep purple and red-orange covers his body. It releases an energy which constantly rejuvenates and revives his body. Ren calmly says, "Master…release your Astral Spirits so they can experience this too."

Hei screams as he releases his 2 spirits. The spirits actually begin orbing this energy and slowly break apart but also create the broken parts from the energy of the tribulation. Hei's bloodline itself slowly weakens as the energy seems to directly attack his bloodline and soul itself. The astral spirits, bloodline and soul all tremble on the brink of collapse.

However, every time he is about to faint or collapse, the Tribulation actually slows down a bit just to give him enough time to stay awake. It actually continues to rain energy on his very being as if tormenting him like an evil entity. The more it persists, the stronger the energy gets and the more the pain grows. Many times, Hei actually almost pass out but the tribulation seems to know when this will happen and keeps him awake. For 9 hours straight, Hei suffers from tribulation without end.

After 9 hours, Hei collapses finally as the clouds clear up. Even his mind is returned to his physical body. He stays there passed out for an unknown amount of time. He actually begins dreaming while he is passed out. This dream seems quite strange.

This dream seems to be him bathing in endless dark energy similar to the astral inscription he created. Furthermore, many truths about the inscription's nature seem to be imprinted into his very being. He sees his astral spirits which have seemed to get something. The dharmachakras behind them both have the astral inscription on them.

His bloodline seems to have strengthened yet again and now possess an innate link with this new found energy. Even the very bones in his body and his soul seem to have numerous astral inscriptions and law engravings of the new found law he created.

This dream continues for a seemingly long time as Hei actually comprehends many truths about this new energy which he has made. After what seems like an eternity of sleeping, Hei finally opens his eyes. "Ah crap…I feel…strange…stronger…This is great…."

He notices the black dragon is sitting and looking on him with suspicion and caution. "What the fuck did you do little kid? I saw Heavenly Tribulation but that's the first time this dragon of antiquity is seeing that kind of law. What did you do?"

Hei laughs a bit with a smug look on his face. "Oh, the mighty and powerful shameless dragon of antiquity doesn't know what I did? This is strange since you were once a Transcendent Step expert…Oh no, seems this little kid here has somehow made you ponder your brain cells out!"

The dragon doesn't seem to be impressed by Hei's mockery and angrily snaps, "You little bastard, just because you did a small thing you think you're some big shot!? Don't forget, you have a little less than 24 hours left before your so called trying to beat this dragon of antiquity!"

Hei laughs a bit and nods, "I see, that mean I have enough time do 'that'. I will speak with when it's time for me kick your dragon ass little shameless one. Piss off!" With that, Hei actually enters his dimension once again. He looks on Ren who hasn't moved a single inch.

"I was successful! Now I possess my own law. I will create techniques using this as a basis!" Ren nods, "Congratulation Master, you did not break under the pain and suffering. Now, Master can think of a great name for this new law so whenever you use it, persons will hear about it." Hei nods, "I was thinking the same thing. I shall call it…Hmm….the Umbra Thunder-Fire Law!"
