44 Clueless Genius

Hei stretches once more as he fixes his bed's sheets. He looks on the burning candles and is just about to put them out but ends of changing his mind. "I'll let this fragrance become stronger. It's not too bad to be honest."

With that, Hei walks to the door and exits. He notices that the flowers which are on both sides of the stone pathway are freshly watered. They maintain their peak beauty as they sway in the wind as if welcoming out. Hei looks on the house behind him and suddenly feel like something is off.

Hei looks on the flowers which seem to be slightly excited as they sway in the wind a bit more. "What the hell is going on? Whatever…" Hei continues to walk but notices something in the sky. There seems to be a large scroll floating in the sky.

On this scroll, a mission seems to be posted. The title reads, "Mission: Capture Sapphire Jade". Hei looks on it and shrugs a bit. "That doesn't seem interesting to me. What use is a Sapphire Jade? Is this some sort of spiritual material or something?"

The astral spirits in Hei's dimension once again look on Hei and shake their heads. Shu's leaves shakes as he says, "Should we tell him or not? Let's have a vote." The astral spirits cast their votes and it turns out that not a single one of them decided to tell him!

A simple reasoning is being used by them. "Master should learn from certain simple mistakes. Besides, things can be boring for us spirits so why not watch this show?" Hei doesn't even know what is happening as he casually walks away from the sapphire house. He notices that many houses are far away from this area and a massive sapphire line in a circle is made around the area.

This circle encloses the property that the little sapphire house is located. This seems to be some sort of border. Furthermore, a barely visible sapphire barrier can be seen around the entire property, making the area seem more protected.

Hei looks on all these things suspiciously but doesn't think much about it. "I wonder what that bastard Shenyuan is doing…He probably surpassed me in cultivation. Those 2 are also probably far ahead now…I wonder how they are doing….I'd like to ruin their days…I mean, make their days with my presence."

A light smile hangs on Hei's face which seems to darken the surroundings a bit. It gives a mysterious and dark look. He pulls his hoodie over and steps through the barrier. At this point, he thinks to himself, "Crap…what if I am blocked from entering?"

He tries to move pass the barrier to return to the enclosed area and notices that he is not blocked. "Ah, everything is cool." Continuing on his walk, Hei casually glances at the scroll once more since at least it has colors different from white.

He reads the contents out loud, "Anyone able to capture the heart of Sapphire Jade will be awarded 1000 Sect Points. Anyone can participate, males or females." Hei looks on this mission with suspicion. "Why would a mission be to capture the heart of a something…huh? Wait a minute…"

The astral spirits finally nod as they realize Hei has understood something. "This Sapphire Jade is actually something with a heart. It's definitely walking jade. The heart must be the most important part to it."

Upon hearing those words, the many astral spirits seem to be filled with despair. "Master…you're a cultivation genius but my word…you're a dumb one!" One of the astral spirits couldn't help but voice his dissatisfaction. Many others laugh and nod in agreement.

At this moment, a sweet looking female dressed in sapphire blue wavy robes laughs a bit as she hears Hei's words. "You're a funny person, really really funny." Hei looks to the voice and notices a blue haired young lady with a beautiful but playful smile on her face standing in the walkway looking at him as if she heard a really good joke.

"I'm funny? How is that so?" Hei seems a bit confused as he looks on the girl. In a tone which seems as if she is familiar with Hei, she casually comments, "You know this Sapphire Jade quite well, but seem to not know her at the same time. Many would kill for your opportunity but you somehow haven't realized it. Are you sure you're a cultivation genius?"

Hei's tone of voice drops a few levels as he seems a bit colder. "Trying to offend me on the first go huh?" The girl however puts on an expression as I being wronged but nonetheless, she bows in respect. "I'm sorry Hei, don't be so angry."

Hei nods, "At least you know your evils." The girl laughs as if she heard another joke. "Wow, you really are quite the person. You definitely know how to make a lady laugh. You're legendary I tell you." Hei shrugs as he walks off without thinking too much about her. "I wonder where those 2 young ladies are. I'm interested in seeing how strong they are…since they are the ones who liked to look down on me!"

"Also, where is that shameless dragon…I wonder…Is the bastard is dead due to skirts?" The girl's sapphire hair blows in the wind as she gives Hei a meaningful smile." Her smooth and gentle skin seems to absorb the sunlight and reflect it so it gives off a beautiful creamy appearance like a full moon in the night. Unfortunately, Hei is not so bright in the admiring of women and their beauty.

If that shameless dragon was here, he would definitely be lusting at her beauty. Anyone out there who hates perverts would definitely like Hei then since he couldn't care less about the beauty of women. She slowly walks off towards the simple sapphire house. Her steps do not seem hurried at all and even appears as if she is skipping.

She smiles kindly and a slight look of happiness and can be seen on her face. "He's so funny, I wonder if he likes to play…I'd like to play with him…It's no fun when he's sleeping and cultivating at the same." If Hei heard those words, he probably still would not get what she meant by those words.

The girl walks through the barrier and straight onto the stone pathway. The flowers begin swaying in the wind as if they are excited to see her. She opens the door as her favorite fragrance of Sapphire Grapes greets her. "He also smelt like Sapphire Grapes. He actually never put the candles out. Good Hei~"

Hei continues to walk as he thinks, "These people have the time to make missions like this during war time? Hmm, not my problem anyway…I just came here to gain experience and cultivate." However, the more Hei walks, the more he notices that many of the males are actually running around like headless chickens in search of something or someone.

He notices a few guys from the clan but doesn't say anything to them. They glance at him in shock and then continue on with their search. He thinks in his mind, "They must be searching for the Sapphire Jade to get its heart."

Finally, he notices someone who he has actually spoken to a bit. "Xing Yinghua, sup? Let me check your cultivation." Hei senses her energy. "It would seem you weren't wasting time. Core Imprinting Realm, the second realm in the Essence Gathering Step…Not too shabby."

She looks on him with a bit of shock and a barely noticeable relief. "And you barely made any advancement…you're just a single realm stronger…" Just as Hei is about to tell her how she is wrong, he notices her face turns slightly red with seemingly anger. "What is that smell? It reminds me of someone…That Sapphire Grape smell…"

Hei laughs a bit with mischief, "Oh yeah, one of my favorite fragrances. Great isn't it?" Hei doesn't realize the huge crap he is getting himself in by saying those words. In his simple logic, he is just troubling the girl due to her saying she disliked the fragrance but doesn't realize he has actually made his life screwed up already.

Her angry face gradually turns into one of cold indifference. "Choices Liu Hei, everyone has choices. You choose and others will react according." With those words as a parting gift, she walks off angrily. Hei stares at her departing back as he thinks to himself, "Damn it, I screwed myself over…I definitely should have hugged her so she smells the Sapphire Grapes!"

Hei laughs sinisterly in his mind, but the astral spirits shake their heads once more as they cannot help but sigh at their master's future problems. Hei looks around as he sees if he can find the shameless dragon for some progress reports on what has happened since he was cultivating. However, he notices that whenever he walks close to the girls, they look on him with shock as if they are struck dumb.

However, when he passes males, they look on him quickly but then sadly look away. Then they suddenly begin looking on him once again with shock and anger. Others seems to be disheartened while some rage and launch their movement techniques to take out this rage on something.

These strange actions slowly keep adding up until Hei finally realizes something serious took place which he is definitely unaware of. After searching for a while, he is still unable to locate the dragon. "Where is that shameless dragon 'of antiquity'? Seriously? He shows up at the worst times normally but when he is needed, he is nowhere to be found."

Just as Hei is about to begin shouting that dragon's name, he notices Xing Wuya leaning on a tree, smiling mischievously as she scans him from head to toe. "Little Hei, where were you all this time?"

Her words seem to imply something but Hei doesn't really think much. "I was practicing something while cultivating for a bit. What's with that smile on your face?" She opens her eyes wide with a bit of understanding. "What's that wonderful fragrance you have diffusing from your body? It's quite unique. Smells like 2 familiar things."

Hei looks on her oddly as he wonders why she is being so weird. "It's Sapphire Grape…just that. I do not know about any other 'fragrance' you speak of."

Wuya laughs as she teasingly says, "You've been around Sapphire Jade I see. And here I thought you were a cold little monster. Seems you're even slyer than the greatest womanizers. You should be called Hua Hei since you're a Sly Black; the kind that secretly appears on your clothes without warning….or in this case, in your clothes!" She giggles as she finds this quite fascinating.

Hei on the other hand stands there completely confused. "What the hell are you talking about? Uh…You're getting senile I see…Fine, whatever, when again will we go to battle?" Wuya laughs a bit, "As soon as that dragon hears that Sapphire Jade is here. When he does, he'll definitely rush to annihilate this sect before Sapphire Jade helps out with reinforcements."

Hei tries to confirm his thoughts, sifting through the 'unimportant parts'. "So that's basically us being on standby for now and no battle occurred. No wonder there is this huge scroll in the sky, wasting perfectly good time. I will be leaving." Hei walks off as Wuya uses her eyes to send him off. She smiles knowingly as she cannot help but imagine the scene to come. Hei slowly walks to the house he slept in before.

"All these idiots…The are acting weird as if some sort of serious event is happening apart from the war. What a set of idlers. I expected better from this sect but I guess it cannot be helped. Meh, this isn't my sect so not need to care."
