26 Rebelliousness!

Screeeeee!!!

The startled Inugamin Winged Ravenna began squawking in attempts to terrify the twenty-six Paragon Knights, including Liam who was the Captain of the squad, after it crashed helplessly on the ground.

'Good shot! So that player wasn't just a charismatic talker, after all.'

NightKorra, the closest <Brawler> to Liam, who looked like a predator in one of the successful movie franchises on Earth, keenly observed him.

Before they proceeded on their mission, Liam summoned them and discussed the formations they might use during their quest.

One of those was 'Formation D,' a defensive formation inspired by Spartans which was focused on protecting the vulnerable damage dealers and supports while the <Brawlers> utilized their abilities and judgment to determine the <Monsters'> weaknesses.

Aside from the <Brawlers>, Liam was the only individual outside the defensive formation.

The lone Inugamin Winged Ravenna on the ground did its hardest to fly again multiple times, but it was all futile.

Liam's eyes emitted dark sparks as soon as he activated his <Marksman Mode>, and analyzed the mechanics of the creature's flying method in just a few seconds, and made an accurate shot based on the hypothesis he made.

It was simply a guess!

But now, one of the Inugamin Winged Ravennas couldn't move properly because of it.

The Inugamin Winged Ravenna on the ground shifted its attention towards the <Player> who caused its downfall.

Panic, dismay, and hostility became evident in its humongous red eyes.

Gulp.

Liam swallowed his saliva as soon as the giant creature's stare fixed on him.

"I will annihilate it, Captain!"

NightKorra suddenly appeared on his side after he left his designated position.

"No, the other Inugamin Winged Ravennas quickly concealed themselves nearby instead of protecting their own. There must be a logical reason and I am contemplating about that now," Liam bluntly rejected his Paragon Knight's request as he pushed his round eyeglasses back up onto the ridge of his nose.

"Well, your opinion doesn't matter, anyway. Why would I listen to a player who can't utilize Mana?" NightKorra disrespectfully stated before he took another step forward.

"...!?"

Liam momentarily forgot that the <Player> was one of his Paragon Knights as immeasurable killing intent radiated from him.

"You!"

Liam grabbed his knight's shoulder, but the latter instantly removed it.

"You put everyone's life at risk already when you decided to engage instead of withdrawing from those creatures. And now you want me to miss my chance of killing one of them? You are either dumb or insane!"

NightKorra replied without hesitation, evidently not even thinking of accepting Liam's order or changing his mindset.

"You think you're far superior to me or my judgment was impaired, I get it. But you don't understand! The creature in front of us isn't the problem. The other Inugamin Winged Ravennas are up to something and we can't act rashly without knowing what it is!"

SCREEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Despite Liam's efforts to convince his knight, NightKorra gripped his daggers and pounced forward, and mercilessly ripped the helpless Inugamin Winged Ravenna's flesh apart into hundreds of bloody pieces.

The Inugamin Winged Ravenna's green health bar instantaneously became yellow as NightKorra successfully landed his vicious assaults.

NightKorra seemed to be an assassin type from <Brawler> trait, <Players> that could deal with a surprisingly substantial amount of damage for a few seconds before they lost their effectiveness.

Assassins like him were supposed to go back and forth from the front line since their skills' cooldowns would render them pretty much useless for several seconds or sometimes even minutes before they became efficacious again.

However, NightKorra did not appear to know his place and utilized his basic attacks to deal damages continuously after he utilized all his skills in one swoop.

Grit.

Liam clenched his teeth as he helplessly observed NightKorra attack with his own.

Trust issues began to rise because of the situation's developments.

But before they could voice out their thoughts, the same Inugamin Winged Ravenna splendidly buried NightKorra into the ground from a seismic bird stomp.

Boom!!!

Dry saliva glided down the irate Paragon Knight Captain as the Inugamin Winged Ravenna returned the favor, throwing the lifeless Paragon Knight's body in front of the defensive formation in a wild feral beast manner.

"Oh my god..…"

The entire squad became extra tense as they shook their heads in helplessness.

"If anyone wants to die next, simply disobey my orders."

The Paragon Knights' attention shifted from NightKorra's lifeless body to their Captain after it spoke up.

The four remaining <Brawlers> unintentionally stepped closer towards the stronghold of the formation, which might be out of their fright.

But the sole Inugamin Winged Ravenna's power exhibition earlier was more than enough to warrant such reactions from them.

NightKorra only took one hit!

And he was an assassin type <Brawler>!

His health bar should be at least on par with some of their <Tankers>.

In reality, Liam knew that his methods against their opponents wouldn't guarantee everyone's safe escape.

But it wasn't best to let his Paragon Knights know that, was it?

"Huh... uh?"

No words came out from their mouths as they simply prepared for the Inugamin Winged Ravenna's attacks.

'So what are we going to do now, Captain?'

Aaron Williams already had a good idea how capable Liam Kai Smith was, strategy-wise.

But to think that even he could do nothing in their current plight worsen the teen's hope for survival.

He decided to remain silent, or else his thoughts might cause chaos.

'The other marksmen couldn't attack the creature from their range so that would leave me and the four brawlers to get information from that creature. But the problem is... No, I think it's best to beat this injured humongous bird first before worrying about others,' thought Liam.

He glanced over his shoulder and ordered, "The four remaining brawlers, come forward!"

The four <Brawlers> exchanged glances at each other before they hesitantly marched forward.

Liam briefly discussed something with them before his voice rose higher. "Don't worry, we got this! Brawler Mode, please activate!"

As soon as Liam finished his sentence, the gun he was holding instantly vanished, only to be replaced by a pair of leather gloves, erupting a majestic holy fire gracefully.

It flabbergasted the entire squad!
