18 Chapter 18: Chaos affinity

[Snowy Mountains Of The Eternal Darkness, 18 November 2034, Planet Of Delmontria]

A young boy laid on the ground in battered clothing as snow covered his entire body.

After what felt like a long time, Edward started to wake up only to feel an extreme heat envelop his entire body.

The heat in his body continued to get hotter, and it got to the point he could not bear it anymore. He screamed in pain for some time before passing out.

Huge changes were currently going on in his body, and his body started to automatically absorb the mana particles in the surrounding. His body was like a black hole as it absorbed the mana particles greedily.

His toned skin started to revert back to his usual fairness and his rough palm also turned as smooth as a baby's palm.

By the time he woke up, it was already late in the evening, and he noticed he was fully dressed and that he was lying on a soft and comfortable bed inside of a cave.

Edward got into a trance when he saw this and he quickly stood up to realize that he was not alone inside of the cave.

He turned his head around and looked towards the mysterious figure who seemed to be flying.

And when he looked over to the mysterious figure, he saw a man standing majestically in the air looking down at the world. He had a noble aura spreading in all directions that enveloped his entire body.

It was like he was the lord over everything. He stretched out his right hand and then two different elements could be seen converging at the top of his hands. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold.

The two elements formed an orb at the top of his hand. The orb was truly captivating. But Edward could feel the destructive powers hidden inside of the beautiful orb. This could be called a beautiful killer.

The man spread out his hands wide and the orb exploded. It was a truly stunning sight to behold and it was also a captivating spectacle which could make the master artists truly jealous at the scene in front of him.

Edward was surprised by the number of magical affinities that the man had control over.

The man looked in the direction that Edward was standing in and then he flashed a smile at him.

Only after the lights died down did Edward realize that they were alone. The man leisurely walked towards him while he was analysing him.

He studied him for some time before nodding his head.

Edward stood nervously as he saw the mysterious figure busy analysing him and then he also studied the man in front of him.

The man was handsome, with long white shoulder length hair and sharp silver eyes that could pierce through anyone's soul.

"What is your name young boy ?" asked the man calmly as his gaze lingered on Edward's body.

"My name is Edward," replied Edward cautiously as he also looked at the mysterious figure of the man with caution on his handsome face.

The mysterious man raised an eyebrow and stared at him closely and then with a slightly confident tone in his voice, said, "You are the one who will inherit my powers. Very good."

The mysterious man then started to nod his head in acknowledgement before he continued to speak,"You were just barely able to meet the minimum requirements."

"You must have a strong body if you want to use the [Chaos] affinity," said the mysterious man with a slightly serious tone in his gentle voice as he looked at Edward with a serious expression on his handsome face.

"[Chaos] affinity ?" asked Edward with a slightly confused expression on his handsome face.

Although he did not know everything about all of the different magical affinities in the world, he did know that there were only a handful of magical affinities in the world.

He knew about the [Fire], [Water], [Wind] and [Earth] magical affinities which were very common.

He also knew about the [Lightning] and [Ice] magical affinities which were considered to be very rare amongst the common folk.

He even knew about the [Space] magical affinity that went along with the [Time] magical affinity which were only given to the [Apostle] of the [God Of Time And Space] by the said being himself but he had never heard of this [Chaos] magical affinity the mysterious man was talking about.

"Hmm, you do not really need to know much about it for now," said the mysterious man with a slightly comical tone in his gentle voice as if he was about to burst out in a fit of laughter.

"Just have it in the back of your mind. You are going to inherit the power of the second strongest God, the [God Of Light And Darkness]," said the mysterious man with a gentle tone in his voice as he smiled faintly while he looked at Edward with a caring look in his eyes.

"[God Of Light And Darkness] ?" asked Edward with a slightly confused tone in his voice as he started at the mysterious figure in front of him with question marks surrounding him.

He had read about Gods in some books and he knew that there was a God for each element. But he had never heard of the [God Of Light And Darkness] this man was talking about.

"Yes, the [God Of Light And Darkness]. He is the second strongest amongst all the Gods and his power is second only to one, the [God Of Destruction] who is the leader of all of the different Gods," said the mysterious man with a comical tone in his gentle voice as he smiled faintly at his [Apostle's] lack of knowledge on the topic about all of the different Gods.

"I have never heard of this [God Of Light And Darkness] or [God Of Destruction] you speak of senior," said Edward with a confused expression on his handsome face as he looked at the mysterious man who seemed to be smiling.

The mysterious man looked at him with a slightly dumbfounded expression on his handsome face before he started to chuckle lightly from the confused expression that his [Apostle] was giving him.

"Ha ha ha ... Is there no record of the [God Of Light And Darkness] or the [God Of Destruction] ?" asked the mysterious man with a slightly curious expression on his handsome face.

"No senior, after the great war between the Gods to check which God was the strongest, the Gods have not been heard of. And that war took place over 100,000 years ago," explained Edward with a slightly knowledgeable tone in his voice as he looked at the mysterious man with a proud expression on his handsome face.

"What about the [Goddess Of Creation], have you heard about her ?" asked the mysterious man with a slightly confused tone in his gentle voice as he looked at his [Apostle's] proud expression with a tinge of amusement which was exposed on his handsome face.

"No I have not, senior," replied Edward with a slightly confused tone in his voice as he looked at the mysterious man like he was looking at a crazy person.

The mysterious man was slightly alarmed by that answer and then he spoke to himself with a soft tone.

"It seems like another war took place after that one, no wonder they do not know about the [God Of Light And Darkness] or the [God Of Destruction] or even the [Goddess Of Creation]," muttered the mysterious man under his breath so that Edward would not be able to hear him.

"Hmm ... I remember that the [God Of Destruction] went into seclusion and that he did leave his inheritance behind for his [Apostle] to find," muttered the mysterious man under his breath as he started to recall the events of the past.

"Well, he will come back from his seclusion within three days after his [Apostle] finds his inheritance," muttered the mysterious man under his breath as he stared blankly at Edward who seemed to staring back at him.

"But what happened to the [Goddess Of Creation] ? Probably got tired of being a goody too shoes and then decided to seclude herself as well," muttered the mysterious man under his breath as a faint smile formed on his handsome face.

"Hmm, forget about it for now. You will get to know more as time goes on. Now, since you have inherited this power, you should already have an incline about some things about it, right ?" asked the mysterious man with a serious tone in his voice as he looked at Edward with a gentle expression on his handsome face.

"No senior, I do not know anything about the [Chaos] affinity," replied Edward with a slightly confused expression on his face as he looked at the mysterious man like he was looking at the stupidest person on his handsome face.

"Hmm, well, that is a serious problem. You should really increase your intelligence stat," said the mysterious man with a slightly defeated tone in his deep voice as he looked at Edward with a gentle smile on his handsome face which caused Edward's veins to start to bulge out on his forehead as he heard the mysterious man's words.

*Sigh*

"Any way it does not matter right now because you cannot use the [Chaos] affinity right now," continued the mysterious man with a slightly defeated tone in his voice as he sighed heavily.

The mysterious man then looked at Edward before he continued to speak with a serious tone in his voice as he said,"For now, you will have to master the [Light] and [Darkness] affinities first."

"And once you have done that, you are going to be able merge the two magical affinities to create the [Chaos] affinity," said the mysterious man with a serious tone in his voice as he looked at Edward with a gentle gaze.

"With that being said, you will have to get stronger and master the two magical affinities quickly. Once you have mastered both of the magical affinities, I will teleport you back here and then I will teach you how to form the [Chaos] affinity," said the mysterious man before he snapped his middle finger with his thumb which caused Edward to be teleported out of the cave and back to the top of the mountain where he began to search for the special flower so that he can complete his mission.
