2 He didn't want to die

The men stared at the little boy that had stopped asking them to let him go.

He had both his palm pressed together and tucked in between his thighs, with tears streaming down his face softly.

He was sandwiched in between the 2 guys sitting at the back and holding a gun.

He knew that gun wasn't good. He had seen how this same black thing was fired at his driver, who was also more like his bodyguard and he died.

He died like those characters in the cartoon he watched and will never show up again, just like the cartoon ends without those dead characters.

He didn't want to die.

What if he shouted and pissed them off?

That was the reason why he kept his mouth shut right now.

He needed to see Ethan again. His mother would be sad and grandpa would get sick. Everyone won't be happy.

How will he escape now?

Those thoughts ran through his tiny brain, as the car kept travelling non stop at a fast speed that could make one feel dizzy.

.....

Back at the mansion.

"He's asleep now." Melanie, who's the twin mother said, as she stepped out of Ethan's room and looking so pale, as if she was the one who was sick.

"You need to sleep. You don't look so good, Melanie." Maris said to her and she nodded slightly.

Ethan's fever has finally calmed and the doctor assured them that he will be alright after waking up.

"Has he left?" Melanie asked about her husband that had tried to stay, despite having something very important to tend to, at his company.

Maris nodded her head.

Melanie left after, to take her bath and change into a new set of clothes before having a short nap, because the whole stuff really affected her.

The boys were not the sickly type and it felt bizarre that someone that was playing around a few hours ago could suddenly change like that.

Her mind has imagined different scenarios of her child eating something that he shouldn't and all, but thankfully, everything has been settled.

He's getting better.

She had no idea that it was just the beginning of her misery.

Her husband, who had rushed to the office and got a few important files signed and sorted, since he just recently took over the corporation and had his plate full.

He got a call and was still running his eyes through some documents, while gesturing for his assistant to check who the caller was.

He wouldn't have cared, if he wasn't expecting the news of his son's health condition.

"It's an unknown number sir." The assistant informed him and he asked him to pick it.

"Sir, it's from the police." Tony heard his assistant's words and suddenly looked up.

"Police?" He asked, as if he heard wrong.

"Yes sir."

Taking the phone from him in a swift movement, as if smelling that something isn't right, he got up on his feet, "This is Tony." He said.

"I'm sorry to inform you that your son has been kidnapped and the driver was killed at the scene. We're working on catching the culprit and would like it if you could drop by the… …"

Beep beep

"Oh my God!" He exclaimed and tears filled his eyes immediately.

"Everything alright sir?" The assistant asked.

"Nathan has been kidnapped. Gather all the securities and bodyguards. He must be found immediately!" He yelled, as he dropped to his knees and began typing his wife's number.

The assistant ran out of the office with a worried expression, to get the order executed.

Immediately the call got connected, "Honey, he's fine now. He was sleeping like an angel." He heard the happy tone of his wife and his heart shattered into a million pieces.

He shouldn't tell this to her, but it was necessary. They need to keep Ethan from learning about it. The boys were too attached to each other and appear to be smarter than the boys of their age.

He didn't want to lose his son by letting him mistakenly stumbled upon the news.

"Someone kidnapped Nathan." He broke the news and there was a silence at the other end of the line.

He told her not to panic that he would get their son back, but to make sure Ethan never heard about it.

"What!" Melanie suddenly stopped being mute and exclaimed, before choking up in tears.

He ended the call as her wailing got louder and the voice of Maris and Tony's father could be heard, asking what happened.

....

While they just begun the search for the boy and Tony using his influence as a very rich man in the country to seal a few exit and make a check on vehicles at some borders, the kidnappers had already left the town with the boy.
