Chapter 1

A man was standing blankly in a forest while staring ahead of him, looking at something that he could suddenly see. As far as he knows, he was not in a forest and he certainly did not have some weird box in front of his face before.

Though, he does only have fragments of his memory remaining. He seems to of forgotten nearly all of his memories except for a few, being able to faintly know what most things are. Like the trees and rocks around him, the blue sky above him, the brown dirt beneath him and finally the RPG looking screen in his face.

'With what I can faintly remember, this is definitely like an RPG game where you can level up, get a class and skills and increase your attributes or stats. Those titles seem to say something about me, meaning I probably died and was reincarnated into another world, hence the last 2 titles, while the first one is probably due to my amnesia. Those plus signs beside some parts are probably to tell me something.' The nameless man thought as he touched the plus sign beside name first.

'Hm. Due to forgetting my name it is no longer part of me, huh... I suppose that is true. Forgetting your own name makes it no longer yours indeed. I faintly remember using the name Grim for nearly all of my games, so I shall make this my new name.' The man, now named Grim, thought to himself as he confirmed that as his name.

[Your name is now Grim.]

He saw that the None next to the name section was swiftly changed to Grim, signifying his new name that will be his for the rest of his life. Next he touches the plus sign beside all 3 titles to see what they say.

[He Who Forgot: As someone who forgot nearly all of your past, you are granted this title that grants an extra point of Wisdom per level.]

[Reincarnated: As someone who has once died and begun a new life, you are granted 5x the amount of experience compared to normal.]

[Otherworlder: As someone from another world, you are given a chance to choose from any basic Class.]

'I see, so that's what they do. It certainly does help me a lot being able to obtain 5x the amount of experience others do. Not to mention I get an extra point in Wisdom each time I level up, which probably means attributes increase with each level-up. Though, that final title is the best one in my opinion, as it gives me a chance to obtain any one basic Class that exists, meaning it is probably difficult or expensive to get a class.' Grim thought to himself as he touched the plus sign beside Class.

[You have been given the chance to choose any one Basic Class. Please choose from the following: Warrior, Priest, Mage, Assassin, Archer.]

'Hm, being a Warrior will make me tougher, making it harder to kill me while also using swords, Priest allows me to heal others or myself, and possibly the use of light magic. Mage allows me to use magic for sure, though to what extent I do not know. Archer allows me to use a bow to snipe enemies from a distance, lowering the danger I would face as a Warrior. Finally, Assassin. It is a class known to all gamers, allowing one to lurk in the shadows while appearing to damage enemies before disappearing again. I can not only deal a lot of damage with this class, I can also hide in the shadows to escape from enemies if the need, or to sneak up on them. Yeah, I definitely am taking Assassin.' Grim decided to himself while touching the Assassin option.

'So that's how I get skills, by obtaining a Class. I see. Those are the basic skills any Assassin would need, but let's see what exactly they do.' Grim thought to himself. Once he chose his class, the skills section had them appear while the none(+) disappeared which in turn allowed him to see what all his skills truly did.

[Stealth: Your body turns invisible but doesn't mask your scent or any sounds you make. Uses 5 Mana per second.]

[Backstab: If you attack an enemy from behind while in Stealth, your damage dealt is doubled.]

[Bleed: Using 100 Mana you can inflict a Bleed status that continuously damages the target for 10 damage per second for a total of 30 seconds.]

'Those skills are indeed the staple skills of an Assassin. Stealth only turning me invisible was expected. If it could cover smell and any sounds I made while invisible as well, it wouldn't be a skill that a basic Class gives, after all. Backstab seems to be a passive skill that works great with Stealth, which makes for a good ambush. Bleed using 100 Mana is crazy for now, as I only have a bit over 100 Mana in total, but it doing a total of 300 damage within 30 seconds is amazing.' Grim thought to himself, smiling slightly.
