5 Eh?! Me?

The next morning, the skies still dark yet this time Long Yu was already on his way to the hilltop doing his usual routine of absorbing the essence of the universe in the middle of dusk and dawn.

Before going to the hilltop Long Yu decided to take a detour on where his stash hiding. All of his hard work was worth it at least he thinks so.

He squared on a huge three, looking around making sure that he is alone he then tapped his hands on the tree trunk three times. A rectangular piece of trunk fell off revealing the hollow inside of the tree with some stuff hidden inside.

Long Yu then caught the trunk piece as if it breaks it would be troublesome to find a living tree with a hollow inside. He then placed the trunk piece on the side and reaching for a bag on the trunk.

This bag was precisely the stuff that he had stolen from the fat merchant yesterday and only got the chance to check them now as the fat merchant after knowing his merchandise got stolen started accusing everyone until he was proven wrong by letting his men search each and every house which totaled into hundred forty homes.

Before leaving the fat merchant even the merchant swore to never ever come back to this place again. As all of that was flashing in his mind Long Yu can't help giggling a little bit.

"It can't help he wants to take advantage of us, frying him in his own oil isn't much," Long Yu said as he opened the bag and started checking his "loot".

After checking the stuff there are hell lot of things that caught his eyes, first up was a crap ton talismans which he didn't know the use. Next up was a silver box full of purple cards with silvery edges.

He picked up one card to examine it and on the card has something that looked like a name for a technique, the "Heaven-Piercing Fist". This intrigue Long Yu 'If this is a technique how the heck does one learn it?' He thought as he tried his best to discover it's secret.

"Meh! Is this a prank? If it is, Whoever made this I have to give it to him" Long Yu said as he put the card back in the silver box and took out another thing which is a cyan ring that looks like a coiling dragon. "AH!" Long Yu exclaimed as he examined the ring then said "don't tell me this is a spatial ring!" Then he slowly put the ring on his finger and calmed himself down before sending his thought into the ring, just how you normally should open a spatial ring.

After a while he sighs in disappointment "I guess I expected too much, spatial rings are after all rare treasures" Long then kept the ring on his finger as he quite liked the design on it. After summing up the stuff only the silver box and the ring really made him wonder on they are used for.

Returning everything on where they Long Yu goes back on his daily routine and headed to the hilltop to cultivate his 'Mysterious Cosmic scripture' and return home to do chores.

Unknown to him there was a watchful eye following him in the dark.

Sensing something Long Yu stopped and looked around just to see no one, he shook his head and thought it must've been his imagination. He continued minding his own business.

A little while later he returned and arrived at the front of their house he can't help but shake his head as their two-story house looks old enough to scare kids passing by. He then gently pushed the door and entered unconsciously saying "I'm home" as he put down all of the firewood on his backpack on their fireplace.

Feeling something amiss he turned around and saw that his father that was supposed be lying there due to excessive hangover was not there, "Oh no!", Long Yu panicked then ran outside to search for his father.

He ran to the village pub but did not see his father there, out of ideas he went to the village chief's house. There he immediately ask the unusual formal dressed village chief "Gramps!, do you know where father is? I didn't see him home when I got back from the mountains". The village chief laughs then said "I just send him off a little while ago after we have some talk anyway, I think you should come with somewhere" the elder chief said Long Yu hesitated for a while and didn't respond the village chief shook his head then said "Don't worry about your father, he won't get in trouble this time".

"Okay then if you say so, Let's go" Long Yu said happily knowing that he won't clean up mess of his father this time, The elderly chief then brought Long Yu to the town square with a smile on his face and said "You must take this opportunity Yu'er if you have good talent you must work hard!".

Puzzled Long Yu tilted his head and looked at the elder waiting for an explanation, the elder only just laugh it off then urge Long Yu to queue up with the other kids while the elder went up to a man in white robe with a three-pointed badge on his chest.

After lining up Long Yu counted the people queueing up he couldn't help but shake his head the people were way too many and there still rushing to queue up.

Suddenly the man in white robes shouted "The queueing now will be prohibited, let us begin I am Lin Xuan an officer from the Rising Star Province tasked by the governor to check on promising talents on your village" He looked at the crowd listening to him politely then he noticed of all people in there Long Yu and pointed to him "You kid come here I will be conducting the test on you first".

Dumbfounded Long Yu pointed at himself "Eh?! Me?"
