A Runaway Wolf

The sun had set quite some time ago and ever since then, Griffith had been searching for the long caravan.

He had ridden quite far down the King's road since they weren't where he had predicted them to be.

But when he had ridden multiple miles down south he had decided to turn back since it was extremely unlikely for them to have been able to travel that far.

He soon reached a small castle outside of which a massive camp had been raised out of the ground.

Riding past the small tents lining the road up the front gates, Griffith greeted some of the people he recognised.

He smiled as a group of children ran past him and into the sprawling forest of tents.

He stopped before the open gates as a pair of guards stepped forward, "What business brings you here?"

Griffith's eyes narrowed and he was about to speak when a column of Baratheon men rode past him.

A deep frown appeared on his face as he saw that the man leading them was Renly Baratheon, the King's brother.

Turning his horse around he quickly rode after them slowing down as he came up next to the small council member.

"Lord Renly!"

The man turned his golden antlered helmet flashing under the moonlight.

"Ah, it's you, Griffith was it?"

The black haired boy nodded, "Yes, my lord."

The man smiled sympathetically, "I must inform you," he paused, "your sister Arya, she's gone missing."

Griffith froze, but before Renly could say another word, he quickly spun his horse around and rode into the castle, ignoring the guards.

He wasn't in the mood for pleasantries as he jumped off his horse ignoring the small form of Tyrion Lanister, who had called out to him.

Sprinting up the stairs he threw the doors to the great hall open and rushed inside, his eyes dArting around, trying to find a familiar face.

He soon found the gloomy face of Vayon Poole, rushing over to his side, Griffith grabbed the man's shoulder.

"What happened?"

Blinking Vayon gazed into the boy's bright blue eyes, "Griffith?"

He frowned and shook the man, "Vayon, tell me what happened!"

That seemed to bring him out of his trance, "Lady Arya, she ran away."

Another shake later Vayon told him where, "Into the forest, she should be somewhere along the Trident."

Griffith nodded and quickly ran back to his black stallion which was still standing in the centre of the courtyard, where he had left it.

Jumping back on, he quickly rode over to a nearby guard and requested for his torch which the young man quickly handed over.

A nod and a thank you later, Griffith was thundering out of the front gates and down the slope towards the thick forest which lined the Trident, Moon close behind him.

He had been serching for two days when he finally found her, huddled up next to a tree, Nymeria by her side.

It was only thanks to his Direwolf that he had found her.

Griffith smiled, and dismounting, sat down next to his cousin.

Arya must have felt something as only a few minutes after he sat down she stirred and slowly opened her eyes.

She let out a yelp as she noticed someone sitting next to her, but recognising Griffith's now black hair and bright blue eyes, she quickly calmed down.

"How did you find me?"

He smiled and reaching out, slowly combed his fingers through Moon's white fur.

She giggled, and what started off as a smile on Griffith's face soon turned into full blown laughter.

But it didn't last long as Griffith slowly calmed down and asked, "Arya, tell me what happened!"

She immediately stopped laughing and turned away, "I don't wanna talk about it."

Griffith frowned and placed his palm on his cousin's cheek, making her look at him.

"The King and father will want to know, I can help you if the need arises but only if you tell me exactly what happened."

She bit her lip and looked away, "I was just playing with Mycah, when…"

And so she told him the whole story, from when she was sparring with the butcher's boy, to when she ran away from a brutally wounded Joffrey.

Griffith frowned, "Well, that's quite the predicament you've put yourself in."

Arya nodded, "I know, and I'm sorry."

A sigh escaped the teen's lips and he stood up, "Come on, let's ride back, I'll tell you my plan on the way."
