She sat in the back of the class, alone. A seat skipped over and then continued on the line of more students. Her messy curly hair obscured her face except her right eye but even that was a stretch. She never looked up. Not when the Professor called for attention. Not when he called out my name to introduce me as the new student. Not when the Professor said that I should get notes of the previous missed classes from her. Not when I sat in the last seat next to her. That wasn't all.
