5 CHAPTER FOUR

The evening breeze was cool, and the sky was ablaze with the fire of the setting sun. Darkness crept in, and the day slowly turned into night.

I sighed, and put my hands into my hoodie pockets. Everywhere was bright and silent. I strolled along the hallway, and finally into the class.

The class was as silent as a graveyard. I looked around, searching for the best place I could sit.

I ended up sitting right in the middle of the class. I dropped my bag on the chair, close to my right. I unzipped it, brought out my notes, pen, and I started studying.

After about an hour, I decided to study history, but suddenly, the lights went off.

Everywhere turned so dark that I couldn't even see what was right in front of me. I hurriedly searched for my phone, but I couldn't find it.

"Oh shit!" I murmured

I started using my instincts to pack my books into my bag, making sure I didn't make any sound. My phone must be in my bag, but I couldn't get it. I hung my bag across my shoulder, and tiptoed out of the class.

I trembled as I walked in the hallway. I took each step slowly, making sure that i didn't make even the slightest noise.

I quivered, as I sighted the figure of someone walking directly in front of me.

I wanted to turn back quietly, and probably make a run for it but, I stupidly stepped on a plastic bottle. The sound attracted the figure and it turned back. I took to my heels, but the figure walked faster, and faster.

Suddenly, someone dragged me to a corner, and before I had the chance to scream, a masculine hand covered my mouth.

The figure kept coming closer, then it stopped. It listened for a while, then it turned back to go. The figure looked so familiar. I wanted to forcefully remove the hand on my mouth, but I was knocked out.

I opened my eyes slowly. I was in a room with a dim light. The room looked very untidy. There were broken chairs, and tables all over.

"Arrrgghh!" I groaned, as I felt a sharp pain in my head. The light was back on.

My hands were tied to the back of a chair, and a cloth was tied in my mouth to prevent me from shouting. I struggled to free myself to no avail.

Three boys, and a girl appeared. The boys were putting on black hoodies, and the girl was putting on a blue hoodie.

The girl pulled off her hoodie, and I recognized her immediately. It was Claire.

The other boys too pulled off their hoodies. It was Alex, and two other cute boys.

For the first time I looked directly at Alex in the face. He's so handsome. I didn't notice that before.

He has a black, and curly hair. He has long eyelashes, and full eyebrows. He has sparkling brown eyes, and a cute nose too. Sure Claire was right about him, but about herself, I doubt that.

I was lost staring at Alex until a slap landed on my face.

It was Claire.

"I swear, I'm so gonna kill this girl" I thought.

"Here's my revenge" Alex said.

"You can hit her all you want Claire, next time, she won't mess with me" he added sitting down, crossing his legs.

Claire picked up a stick. She smiled devilishly, and she started hitting me with it.

I held the pain, and tried to stifle my tears. Alex, and his friends were laughing hard.

Suddenly, the door was opened widely, and they all froze.

I traced my eyes to the door weakly, and I saw another cute and handsome boy standing. I couldn't  tell who was more handsome between Alex and this guy.

This guy has a brown, and curly hair, cute black eyes, pink lips, small mouth, and a pointed nose.

"Stop it!" he said sternly, and immediately, Claire dropped the stick.

"And who are you to interfere?" Alex growled, standing up.

He didn't say anything. He untied  the rope used to tie my hands and legs, and also removed the cloth used to tie my mouth.

"Are you ok?" he asked with a cool voice. I nodded weakly.

I gave Claire a dirty look. I tried to stand up, but my legs were weak. I couldn't even stand properly. Claire must have hit the stick hard on my legs.

"You shouldn't have interfered Henry" Alex bellowed, walking away with his friends as well as Claire.

"Wow! so his name is Henry" I thought.

"Let me help you" Henry said calmly. He took my bag, and told me to get on his back. I felt reluctant but, I still got on his back and he stood up. His sweet scent filled the air.

"Where's your dorm?" he asked after walking for a while.

"Dorm G" I answered.

After fifteen minutes, he dropped me off at the gate of our dorm.

Norms, males were not allowed in female dorms.

"Thank you" I said, looking at him. He was just so cute.

"You're welcome. Next time, don't get involved with Alex, he can be brutal you know" He advised.

I didn't say anything.

"By the way, what's your name?" he asked.

"I'm Ashley" I could feel my cheek heating up.

"I'm Henry" he said, extending his hand for a handshake. I hesitated before taking his hand. His hand was so soft.

We stood there staring at each other awkwardly for sometimes.

"Hmm, good night" he waved

"Goodnight" I waved back, walking into the dorm with a smile plastered on my face.

I pushed the room door open, and Ana rushed over to me.

"Ashley, Where have you been? This is 10pm" She said, looking worried.

I ignored her, and charged at Claire who was sleeping, or say pretending to sleep. I dragged her hair, and she groaned in pain.

"You motherfucker.....let me show you what I'm made of" I fumed but Ana dragged me back.

I tried to free myself. I really wanted to teach this bitch a lesson but..... I slumped on the floor.

"Ashley!" Ana screamed.

******************************

I opened my eyes slowly.

"Thank goodness you're awake now" Ana breathed a sigh of relief.

"How are you feeling now?" she asked.

"I'm okay" I said in whisper. It was late at night already.

"Grinnggggggggg" my phone blared.

My eyes travelled straight to my bag. I stood up slowly, grabbing my bag. I scattered the content on my bed, and finally, my phone.

"Hi dad" I said, putting the phone close to my ear. I was still angry at him for shipping me to this damn school.

"Hello princess" he said, and I rolled my eyes.

"Cut it off dad, I'm not your princess" I snapped. He sighed, then he spoke again.

"This is what's best for you Ashley. So how do you find your new school?" he asked.

Well that got me mad. How dare he say that's what's best for me?

"You mean the damn school you and mom shipped me too? And what do you mean by that's what best for me huh, you both hurt me every time, and each time you say that what's best for me..... I hate you.... I hate you dad.....I hate you and mom," I blurted, trying to hold my tears.

"Princess but..." he was about to say something, but I cut him off the call.

I quickly used the back of my hand to wipe the balls of tears already rolling down my cheek.

Ana was already asleep. I laid on my bed facing the ceiling. I sighed many times before finally falling asleep.
