"Come on Alex we're going to be late" Grace laughed
"you know what Miss Dinsdale's like "
"Ok Grace race you !"
They ran to the school gate only to be greeted by their friends Louisa and Joe
"Hiya guys ! you okay ? " Joe said cheerfully
"Fine actually" Shadow said "come on let's get going"
No one spoke until they got to the corridor doors and Shadow broke the silence
"I Can't believe we've nearly finished Y10 Alex"
"I know Grace. Re,beer though don't get your self into trouble like you did last week when you got into a fight with Emily "
"Ok" she giggled the fight wasn't her fault she didn't want to get into a fight with Emily in the first place.
It was all because of what she saw.
It was Wednesday morning and everyone was going out for break and she was walking out on the field with Alex and her friends and out of the corner of her eye she saw Emily shoving Lucy into the school fences swearing at her
"why are you so stubborn Lucy give me the money!"
"No" Lucy cried her face dripping in blood filled tears
Grace stopped in anger " Guys we've got to do something "
"You can if you really want but don't blame us if you get In trouble " Alex explained shadow ran off before he finished
" ugh here we go again"
"Hay who do you think you are Emily. "
"Well well look who's arrived miss goody to shoes" she laughed at her own typical 'joke'.
Grace rolled her eyes and pulled Lucy to her feet.
Suddenly, Emily stepped in front of Grace and kicked Lucy in the shin "shit !"
Grace suddenly lashed out on Emily punching and kicking her thats's all she could gather except remembering Louisa pulling her off Emily and accidentally kicking her instead. Emily thankfully got suspended As well as Grace for retaliation .
Louisa and Joe parted onto their different classes leaving Grace and Alex to head to theirs. Slipping in a few minutes late and sat down.
"Settle down class today we are going to be doing maths, drama and PE the rest of the day is a free study
Period any questions ?."
No one answered
"Hay Alex isn't it funny how we get two periods off ."
"It's quite strange but it's better than doing tests " he whispered
"FIRE FIRE "
The fire protocol came on
"the fire brigade are on there way please leave the building in an orderly and calm manner "
Alex and Grace walked out to the to the playIng field where teenagers kept flooded in
Eventuality, they found Joe standing at the back of his classes line
"Where's Louisa Joe" Alex calmly asked
An ambulance and a fire truck appeared
"I don't know she got lost in the crowd but I think she went into the hall to check everybody was out of there and they got out okay."
"I am going to go get her." Grace said bravely
Alex sighed
"Stay safe make sure you come out in one piece"
She nodded at him and ran into the smokey building putting her jumper over her mouth
"Lou ? Lou ? Can you hear me "
She heard someone coughing
" Grace ?"
" I am coming Lou "
She raced into the hall she found her on her knee's chocking
"Come on let's get you to the playground "
Louisa nodded they ran out of the hall.
They ran into the corridor it was completely consumed with flames
"it's blocked what are we going to do" Louisa trembly said
"I have an idea " they turned and headed for the main entrance " that's blocked as well shit.."
"Grace ,Lou ?" It was Sophie the head girl she had known her from primary they were best friends
"are you two ok "
"Yes we're a ray of fucking sunshine "
Sophie gave Grace a glare
"there's a window open over here "
they ran to the Y9 class room and slammed the door open
"just out here" they jumped out of the window it was bright and sirens were blaring
"Shadow ! Are you ok "
Alex ran over "yes-" shadow fainted
Her head felt heavy and it hurt she winced at the pain.
"Hello can anyone here me ?"
No reply just silence. Grace looked harder into the pitch black room she could barely see the a dark figure fixed to the corner
"Where am I !."
"Hush child no need for that because you will safe here in the hospital."
"Which one"
The Silence gave the reply exhaustion dominated her again as she went in and out of consciousness hearing half of conversations which didn't make sense
"What was she like ?" This was a woman's voice that she didn't recognise
"Good think she's the one "
that voice it was the man who talked to her in that room !. The one what dose he mean ?. Finally regained consciousness but her body wouldn't move. Suddenly , floods of voices flooded the room guns fired voices screamed "Grace were going to get you out of here." That voice didn't sound familiar but it belonged to a girl.
