2 Middle School Crush

After Leigh left the couple to talk, as she didn't want to be a third wheel and also she didn't want to be around her former crush while he stared at her in surprise as she didn't even acknowledge his presence and took large strides over to the track where a couple of people were jogging.

She started jogging around the park and soon picked up speed and started running after a few rounds. She had plugged in her earphones and was listening to music as she focused on her running, on the other hand Karl was still in a daze by the way Leigh ignored him as if he wasn't even there. He desperately wanted to talk to Leigh about their relationship and wanted to get back with her, but Leigh knew he was just trying to get her attention and use her as a rebound so she just ignored him. It was late evening now and people in the park had started leaving so there weren't many people around when Karl rushed over to Leigh when he saw her running and stood in front of her blocking her way, she couldn't push him away as he was tall and had a nicely built body which made him look a little intimidating, he had a square jaw with brown skin and sharp black eyes and thick brows. But a pretty face doesn't always work right?

Just as he blocked Leigh's way, he grabbed her arm and pulled her near a bench by the jogging track. Leigh was shocked and agitated by his actions as soon as he pulled her over near the bench she snapped at him "What the hell Karl! Let go of my arm" as she tried to pull her arm away from his right grip almost painful. He looked at her a little frustrated and said "I just want to talk this through Leigh, why can't you give me another chance? Why don't you wanna give "us" another chance and start over again?", Leigh looked at him in anger as if she would rip his throat away and said "You want me to give you another chance after knowing well how you played me? And how you left me? You want me to give you another chance just so you could play with my feelings again? How could you be so shameless Karl, have you no shame to come to me begging me to give you a second chance because you found out your girlfriend was cheating on you with your best friend and dumped your ass for him?" Leigh knew he didn't acknowledge her when she was head over heels for him but when the girl he was with dumped him for his own friend he started talking to Leigh and tried to get to know her. Leigh thought he really liked her so she spoke to him and they would hang out a lot initially but then he started ignoring her texts and didn't receive her calls and he wouldn't even hang out with her rather he'd be chilling with another girl after school.

After hearing those words from her Karl was stunned, he felt as if someone had slapped him hard in the face, he felt insulted. He thought he would easily get Leigh back if he spoke to her once again and showed her that he cared. But this time Leigh wouldn't let herself be fooled by his sugar coated lies. As soon as Leigh said those words to him she turned to leave, just then he grabbed her arm and pulled her back to face him and pleaded "Leigh please, I really love you and I know what I did wasn't right and I've realised my mistake and that's the reason I'm here to talk to you" he held her face between both of his palms and said in a soft voice which sounded almost like a sob "Leigh please, just one last chance. I promise, I won't hurt you again. Please Leigh, I mean it." Leigh knew he was acting and didn't mean a word he said because he just wanted to get over his ex. She slapped his hands away and pushed him and said "A person like you can only love himself, don't even try to fool me with all your sugar coated lies. Because all you've ever done is hurt me Karl. This is the last time in telling you this and I don't want to repeat myself and I hope you won't make me repeat it again. Leave me alone Karl, it's over, we're never getting back together and don't follow me or even try to contact me again. Goodbye." as soon as she finished talking she turned around to leave but as if she remembered something she turned around and shot a cold glare at him and said "And I'd like to tell you one more thing Karl. I hate you." Karl had never heard such harsh and cold words from Leigh before but after what she said and with the way she said it, it was clear that he had no chance with the girl. He watched her walk away without even looking back at him, after she was out of his sight he was snapped back to reality and found himself standing alone be the bench. He then turned away and walked out of the park not even daring to go back to where Zedd and Kate sat waiting for Leigh, because he knew she was going to be there and he felt embarrassed to even face her. So he turned around and slowly walked out of the park.

As soon as she spat the words at him she walked away without a second glance and went over to where Zedd and Kate were busy chatting. She looked at them and chuckled, they both weren't even dating yet but they looked like they've been together forever, they looked so happy. She didn't want to interrupt their tryst but it was getting dark and they both had school the next day, so she went over to them and exchanged a few words with Zedd while she reminded Kate about the time while signalling towards her watch. Later Kate and Leigh said their goodbyes to Zedd and the three of them left the park and went home.
