5 Relentless Combo

PVP was unavoidable between two parties. Just the raw experience that an Elite Fierce Boar would give will be enormous. The items that it can possibly drop also has a high chance of being common ranked. This type of things would be a lot more common in higher levels. They say that if you want to play MMORPG games to sit back and relax, you're definitely playing the wrong genre. The competition is fierce and small friction against other individuals might result to greater conflict.

"We need to kill that Elite boar. Let's go all in. I'll assault their back lines to mess up their formation. Kite the Elite boar as much as possible, Jayce." (Stephen)

"Let's kick some ass!!!!" (Arthur)

"Aye aye captain."

"Finally, some PVP." (Lance)

"Acolytes should be advocates of peace you know."

"Oh f*ck off Jayce." (Lance)

The term kiting is used to continuously hit the enemy while running away, preventing from being hit while maintaining aggro.

Arthur dashed forward and Jayce proceeded to cast Ice Bolt. He saw one incoming Fireball and it seemed that one of the two mages wanted to keep him occupied. Jayce immediately tumbled to the side and ran forward. He followed up with another Ice Bolt and shot it towards Thorns Abound. The shield warrior intercepted the Ice Bolt by using the skill Block.

'You want to kill me? You wish.'

The distance between them was just around twenty meters, so the Elite boar was just ten meters away from both parties. At the same time, Sturdy Maple's Fireball hit the Elite's body.

The damage was not enough to take the aggro away from Jayce. The Elite boar charged towards Jayce because he was the initial attacker. Lance stayed at the rear, ready to support the team immediately.

Sturdy Maple's party advanced forward. The situation was not looking good for Jayce's team. First of all, the Elite boar was aggroed to him. They only had 4 people in the party and thus making their options limited but quality beats quantity. They believed that they were leagues better than the enemy.

The shield warrior who blocked Jayce's Ice Bolt, Silver Knight, noticed that Arthur was charging towards them.

"Intercept the warrior! Don't let him near us!"

Arthur reached the enemy team. Arrows and Fireballs were shot towards him but he dodged every single one. Lance will heal him anyway when he takes damage. It's important that no one dies in their party to prevent further disadvantage.

'What a flexible giant..', Silver Knight thought to himself.

No one noticed Stephen's movement in the side because all attention were on Arthur, Jayce and the Elite boar. Stephen jumped and stabbed his dual daggers on Sturdy Maple's back, then used Frenzy Slash. It is a Rogue skill that allows the player to dish out four quick strikes with bonus damage.

"F*ck!!" (Sturdy Maple)

Another special thing for Rogues is that they have a combo counter. Each successful basic attack hit or skills (ones that don't consume any counters) will generate half a combo counter. Stephen has 2.5 combo counters, enough to use the skill Decimate which costs 2 combo counters to use.

Decimate is a skill where both daggers would be stabbed unto the enemy's body and violent mana would be injected inside, resulting to huge damage.

With that combo, Sturdy Maple was dead in just 2 seconds. He was able to cast another Fireball but it was cancelled due to the chain of attacks. Thorns Abound needed one more second to cast another Fireball but Stephen was already few steps away from the archer's back. Thorns Abound is afraid that Fireball would hit his ally instead of the enemy.

"Touch One! Watch out!!"

Thorns Abound's screamed at the top of his lungs.

The archer was constantly shooting arrows at Jayce, while Jayce on the other hand was kiting the Elite boar while evading the arrows. Lance also continuously shoots Light Rays to the archer and heals Arthur. There was constant movement in the battlefield.

'This archer is freaking annoying!', Jayce thought to himself. However in that moment, Thorns Abound's scream startled the rest of his party.

"What--?" (Touch One)

"Perish." (Stephen)

When Touch One was on the midst of turning his body, Stephen kicked his ankle and followed it by a strike to the neck.

"Decimate!" (Stephen)

- 3!

- 9!

- 17!

The kick's damage was lower because Stephen has low strength stat and it is considered as an auxiliary attack, that means it's like a supporting movement like tumbling, rolling, backflip.

Touch One immediately tried to disengage by throwing a kick with his own but Stephen was already behind him again.

"[Frenzy Slash]!" (Stephen)

- 7!

- 9!

- 9!

- 8!

With that successive movements of Stephen, Touch One died without even dealing any damage back to him. Actually, Touch One was already dead with the first slash. He only had a meager 3 hp remaining so you could say that the skill was an overkill but nevertheless, it was a good combo.

"Well played!"

Jayce complimented Stephen on the team's voice chat. It was truly an impressive feat to kill two players that easily.

Meanwhile, Arthur is engaged on a 2 on 1 battle with Silver Knight and the other warrior carrying a greatsword.

"Harvodel, this is bad. Touch One and Sturdy Maple are dead. We lost our advantage in this fight." (Silver Knight)

No side was willing to back down. The Elite boar still has a lot of hp because Jayce only kept kiting it, but it seems that the battle was leaning in their favor because of Stephen's 2 man kill.

A Fireball was thrown by Thorns Abound and it hit Stephen, damaging him by 19 hp. Lance saw the damage marker above Stephen's head so he casted Lesser Heal immediately, recovering 15 hp.

Stephen and Lance exchanged a thumbs up.

'Tsk, this shield warrior keeps being a c*ckblock.' (Arthur)

Arthur is frustrated because he wasn't able to bring down anyone yet. Sometimes Silver Knight would Block Arthur's Heavy Slash or Devastating Punch. There were also moments where Silver Knight would push Arthur out of balance when he was about to use his skill. In Arthur's point of view, Harvodel could just be ignored due to his subpar combat performance while Silver Knight knew how to time his attacks and skills.

Silver Knight also thought that Jayce would get killed instead because of the Elite boar. Without anyone tanking it, a mage would normally have difficulties and die as a result, but none of that happened. This unbelievable mage managed to kite the Elite boar and would even sometimes throw spells at them. What skill!

'This battle is a complete defeat. All of them are talented and we got caught off guard by that Rogue. We need to leave before our losses increase.' (Silver Knight)

Arthur used Heavy Slash again but he was blocked by Silver Knight. Harvodal tried to attack using Devastating Punch but Arthur just dodged it easily.

Silver Knight and Harvodal leaped away, sheathing their weapons in the process.

"We concede. See you around, fellows." (Silver Knight)

The three of them used the Recalling Scroll, which will allow them to teleport back to the home save point after 5 seconds.

"Let them leave. Let's focus on this Elite boar before other parties show up." (Stephen)

Arthur was clearly frustrated of his lack in skills but little did he know that he was the most important piece in that fight. If he lost immediately, the two warriors would be able to disrupt Jayce's kiting or kill Stephen quickly.

It's not about individual performance but teamwork. That's where a group will really shine.
