2 F-Ranked Quest

What stood in front of Jayce was a large hall. On four corners were lighted torches that gave brightness to the room. The structure itself was made of stone, but the floors were made of wood. Aureus exited the hall and what greeted upon him was exactly he expected it to be from typical RPG villages.

The village's houses and buildings were primarily made of stone. The game had a setting somehow similar to the medieval era but magically advanced in some aspects. There were NPCs walking along the streets, and there were also others talking with each other.

Jayce chose Aureus to be a mage because he always admired having the power to cast spells, blast people to pieces using advanced level magic and many more.

Although mages are not that innately strong, they excel in having high intelligence and wisdom. They can cast spells easily and their offensive damage potential is high. Mages are known to be reapers on the battlefield, their large area of effect spells and deadly single target magic can annihilate other players easily. However, mages are not fast in nature. They cannot run quickly, their stamina is a little bit lower than the average in the beginning but it is understandable because there needs to be balance.

Jayce already read a lot of information regarding about the starter village. First of all, it is quite big even though it is for a newbie village only. Second is that almost everything that you need is already inside the village, you just need to navigate it through such as blacksmiths, tailors, shops with general merchandise, bulletin boards that contains quests and many more. However upon reaching level 10, players will have to undertake an advancement quest which would allow you to gain entry to the city.

On specific information regarding about the quest, obviously it was not disclosed. Jayce knew for the fact that important things like that should be the line where noobs, elites and pros would be set.

Jayce sent a message to his three friends. He confirmed that they were in the same village, which was Hill's Arise Village. It was situated on top of a hill that and it also occupied a huge area. He also asked where they were gathered.

Jayce now headed to the fountain which was located in the center of the village. In their, you can see couple of children playing around and some NPC stalls that were brought up. Jayce saw his three friends waiting by already at the side of the fountain. There were also other players gathering there. As Jayce estimated using his observation, there would be around a thousand players in this village.

"Yo." (Jayce)

"Hey Jayce, took you long enough." (Lance)

Arthur and Stephen just nodded in response.

"My bad, guys. I got caught up a little bit with the gatekeeper. He asked a lot of questions." (Jayce)

"Really? He only asked me like two questions then proceeded." (Arthur)

"Same with me, also." (Lance)

"Well, anyway let's continue. That doesn't matter anymore." (Stephen)

In Ascension, each classes has their own advancement later on when they reach level 20. On that time, you can have a specific grasp on how you'll play the game.

"It's good that four of us are in the same village. It is randomly assigned but we got to be in one place. Truly lucky." (irst, let's go to our respective profession halls and receive the starter gear. Remember to initiate good conversation and try to seek valuable information from the NPCs. After doing that, let's gather again here." (Stephen)

Stephen was the human with the neat top sided hair.

Everyone agreed in unison. Stephen was the strategist, or the brains of the team. He sets the plans for them and try to come up the best possible tactic that they can use. Stephen was also the one who discovered a beta tester which played the game in its closed stage. Usually beta tests would be employees of Zenith Company. He was able to fork out valuable information through devious means. However, Zenith company announced before that the beta test only compromised of the starter village. These beta testers also signed on a confidentiality contract to not reveal the things they knew in public and to hide the fact that they were a beta tester. As for how Stephen discovered one, no one knows. You can just imagine a devious sparkle in his eyes when he smiles evilly.

Each of them now headed to their respective profession halls. Jayce arrived at the Mage Tower. It was a high structure made of stone, like a spire that was quite eye catching due to its height. In there, he saw a couple of people going in and out. It was pretty crowded because the Mage profession is popular due to its magical powers.

At the end of the hall would be a front desk which is occupied by three NPC attendants. You could choose anyone of them to converse. Jayce walked towards the middle attendant because the left and right attendants were occupied.

"Good morning, young mage. How can I help you today?"

"Um, yes. Good morning too. I want to claim my starter gear and spells."

"No problem! Here you go. Is there anything else?"

The attendant handed Jayce a wooden box which Jayce immediately received.

"Are there any quests available for me as a beginner?"

The attendant nodded slightly, apparently she was pleased by Jayce's intiative.

"Yes there is. There are two quests available. Would you like to receive them now?"

'Wow there's 2? Fricking awesome.' Quests were kinda hard to come by in Ascension because you need to have a conversation with the NPC and build rapport with them.

"Can I receive both of it right now?"

"You can. Here are two F-ranked quest scrolls. Please do carry them out diligently."

The attendant handed two sheepskin scrolls that had a minute white glow around it. Higher ranked scrolls would have brighter glows and better scroll material. The lowest rank would be F and the highest would be SSS although having an S quest scroll is already an one in a thousand chance. However, having quests rather than grinding would be a lot better in terms of reward and convenience.

"Thank you so much for the two quest scrolls. I will accomplish them as fast as possible."

Jayce bowed in front of the attendant and she smiled in response. Jayce then proceeded to equip the starter gear which was a beginner staff, robe, shoes and gloves.
