The next day came quite quickly, and Jerouch was all set.

He had noticed previously that the system didn't really care how he killed monsters, so far he made the last kill, it would be counted.

Jerouch didn't know how erroneous he thought was, as he would soon realize that the system was far from making life smooth for him.

And that was the basis of his plan. Today, he was going to trick the roc to help him achieve his goals.

He didn't know which rank the roc was, but judging from how he was able to kill most of the monsters in this region with ease, his rank couldn't be that low either.

And with the roc assisting in weakening the high rank monsters, all he needed was to make the last hit, and with that, his exp point was bound to rise at an astronomical speed, at least that was what he thought.

Both of them were still inside the cave, and Jerouch occasionally glanced at the roc that was lying at the entrance.

The roc lay there peacefully waiting for Jerouch to give the signal. In his mind, the more he helped this human, the higher his chance of keeping a healer with him.

He would soon start hunting even more powerful monsters, and he could not escape being injured. But with this human here, he could heal quickly, and his hunt wouldn't be hindered.

And what did this imply…He was going to grow stronger, and by then he could decide whether or not to keep this benefactor of his.

Jerouch didn't know that he wasn't the ink schemer here. As he was calculating ten steps ahead, the rock was calculating a hundred steps ahead of him

He was still under the impression that animals couldn't have that much intelligence. But he had forgotten that these creatures weren't the animals that roamed on Earth, but this world's monsters, particularly the specie he was dealing with currently.

' His wound seems to be almost healed, ' Jerouch muttered to himself in a quiet voice, but the roc still turned to look at him.

The roc now had a gentler expression on his face as he became less wary of Jerouch. To him, that young human was his lifelong benefactor which he needed to give a good impression.

Jerouch noticed that, and he smirked amusingly.

' Don't tell me the monsters in this world are this stupid. ' Jerouch was using all his energy to stop himself from laughing out crazily.

' Well, that's for the better, I guess I don't need to use any trick to convince him to do what I want. '

Jerouch preferred to be alone, he had been stabbed in the back a couple of times, and he had grown to see how people dumped you like rubbish, the moment you had no use to them any longer.

That fear had grown deep in him that it had sown a black seed in his subconsciousness which to some extent affected his rationale.

The roc was just like others, even if he became his familiar, who knew, perhaps some underhanded methods existed that could break the familiar contract.

Two schemers were plotting against each other to gain the most benefit. But they didn't realize that they first need to survive the impending doom approaching them to see who was the better scammer.

' Before they use me I'll use my senses, ' he uttered in a hushed tone.

As soon as the roc saw Jerouch stand up, he also rose from his position and made some low screeches which Jerouch failed to understand.

' So I want to increase your healing process, however, I'm still lacking in power. ' Jerouch ruffled the roc's head as he looked at him with gentility.

The roc had a look of interest as he watched Jerouch, wondering how he could help his benefactor which could in turn hasten his healing and improve the bond between them.

Jerouch kept on explaining what he needed to do for about ten minutes, and the roc kept on nodding in understanding.

When Jerouch felt he had explained enough, they both set out for the hunt.

The sun was already out although the giant trees in the surrounding blocked most of the sunrays making the region dim and damp.

The roc was to make a quick survey in the air, and if he spotted any reasonable target, he would incapacitate it, and then Jerouch would make the last hit.

Bang!

Jerouch's fist landed on the face of a six-legged tiger, which sent it flying like a ping-pong ball.

Before it could breathe in relief, Jerouch had closed in, and with a leg sweep, the six-legged tiger was sent flying at nine o'clock of Jerouch.

Jerouch kicked the ground and jumped forward, evading a compressed wind ball that was aimed at him.

Glancing backwards, he saw dust rise as the wind ball hit the ground.

' Nice power but not enough.' Jerouch cracked his fingers and punched the monster's jaw.

Krack!

A cracking sound of a bone was heard as the six-legged monster was raised upward, and the momentum force sent him flying until its back collided with a big tree.

Another cracking sound entered Jerouch's ears, as the monster's backbone fractured.

Squash!

Jerouch's right leg landed on the monster's head which sent brain matter and blood flying everywhere including Jerouch's face.

[Daily quest completed- kill three E rank monsters without using any active skills.]

Jerouch was preparing to execute his plan when the daily quest notification popped up.

He had to hunt the monsters without using any skills which increased the difficulty a bit.

But since they were E rank monsters, they no longer posed much threat to Jerouch even without using any of his active skills.

'' Kruuu! ''

Jerouch raised his head and glanced forward from where the roc was diving from in the sky.

'' Kruuu! '' The roc kept making screeches while pointing his head in a particular direction at two o'clock.

'' You've seen a target? ''

'' Kruuu! '' The roc nodded.

'' Haha, good. '' Jerouch grinned.

'' Let's go, '' he uttered and headed in that direction.
