Chapter 5 : Getting to know each other (1)

It is nearly four a.m in the morning and Angel Keinnayi, who is reading Manga on Embra's bed while drinking soda, has just stopped using her divinity. Her Valkyrie come into the room just after she stopped using her divinity. Keinnayi has a look of tiredness on her face and she smiles weakly to Sethar who was about to speak.

"Yes. I am going to rest now. Do not worry. It is been a while for me to use this much divinity to dilute time flow. *Yawn* I am gonna sleep. You come up too. This bed is not bad." (Keinnayi)

"It is good that you are goint to rest now. I am greateful for your offer, Lady Keinnayi but, I will sleep in the living room. After reading the manga, I also want to experience what 'futon' feels like." (Sethar)

"Alright then. Good night." (Keinnayi)

"Yes, Lady Keinnayi" (Sethar)

Sethar, who is here to tell Keinnayi to take a rest because her limited divinity is running low, go back after opening the air conditioner in the room for Keinnayi. She close the door to bedroom and walk back to the living room. Sethar has already received knowledge about this apartment room from Keinnayi, who has read Embra's memory. So, it did not take long for her to take a futon from the other bedroom and sleep in the living room. It is not that she do not wants to sleep in the other bedroom but, that room is full of computers and devices she do not understand.

That's why she chose to sleep in the living room after closing all the light in the house. For Valkyrie like her, sleep is not required but, she also used her power to dilute the time flow to watch eight hundred episodes of the Anime 'One Piece' in three hours. So, her limited power, which has been sealed, is running low and she is tired mentally. Soon, Sethar fall asleep on the thick warm futon.

P.O.V changed

Not bad. It is soft to lay down. It is fit for angel like me. .. Really. this mortal is advanced than any other mortal world I have seen. And, this books: Manga, Light novels and animes... I am completely sure it is the work of some God who control the soul or Circle of Life and Death, Samsara.... He or she transplant the memories of dead people on other worlds as ideas in the mind of people of 'Earth'...

It is good and all so, I can enjoy them but, what does he or she want from the people of 'Earth'? I have already spent nearly two years in the time sphere reading but I haven't finish half of all the mangas, LN or animes yet. *sigh* Whatever, I can only hope the god do not will for bad things for this earth...

Hm.. Now that I think about it, can't I stay here? Calculating the time difference, even if I stay a century here, not much time would have passed in Heaven. Hm.. Let's live in this world as a vacation. This world is not died yet and a god is still looking over this world, seeing that it can still placed a seal on my power. It is a hassle to request permission to stay but, well, I am a guardian god of Time and Space. A god of this lowly world will not be able to refuse my words anyway.

Yosh. Next morning, I will get the permission to stay from the god of this world and .. should I just stay in this house? Embra is a mature man who is not shaken up like other mortals when they see a divine being. His past is interesting too. Yes. I wonder what will he ask as a compensation? Will he ask half of this world? Haha.. Well, we will see this morning. After all, it would not be not that bad for me to stay in the home of a one of the richest person in this world. *smile*

After an hour and a half Keinnayi has fallen asleep, Embra come into the room and she is awake now because of him. Angel Keinnayi is looking into Embra's eyes and she is thinking.

Those eyes are genuine. He is truly worry about me.heh.. how kind of you.. But, this is strange. Why am I feeling this warmth in my heart. Why am I feeling like I would be safe in this human's presence? ... Are my heart beating for him now?... *shakes head* Get yourself together, me. Ugh. Now, I am awake. Oh right, I should answer him back.

I sit up on his soft bed that is too good to be a mortal's bed and smiles at him to reassure him.

"Do not be worried. Nothing dangerous happened last night. I was just exhausted after using up all of my limited divinity. I was too engrossed in reading enjoying those 'entertainment' of yours. It was quite enjoyable." (Keinnayi)

"I see. I am glad it is not something big. Well, pulling an all-nighter would not be healthy for a human but, I see that it is just to the extent of mental tiredness for a mighty angel like yourself. Well, we can talk later. I also have thousands of questions I want to ask of you. For now, let's wash up. My body is sore from sleeping on the couch." (Embra)

"Alright. Do as you wish." (Keinnayi)

My eyes follow him going into the bathroom with extra clothes and after the door is closed, I prepare to meet with the god of this world. It is true that nearly all of my divinity is depleted but, I still have this necklace where I stored some of my divinity. For now, I need to recover with this necklace.

Hmm.. Now that my divinity is recovered, let's go meet with the god of this world. Oh right, I should notice Sethar. i am sure she would be worried for me if I suddenly disappeared.

P.O.V changed

Embra came out of the bathroom after 25 minutes or so and see that Keinnayi is no longer in his room. He smiles seeing the neatly folded blanket and get out of his room after using some fragrance on himself.

When Embra go out to the living room, he finds that Sethar is folding her futon. He smiled and greeted her,

"Hello there. Good morning. Did you sleep well" (Embra)

"Hello. Yes, I have. Thanks for the futon." (Sethar)

Sethar replied back rather uninterested and thanks him for the futon. Embra felt that Sethar is not speaking out of courtesy and he felt there is a wall between them. Embra thought of a topic to talk and looks around to see the bookshelf in the corner.

"Oh.. No worries. So, I take it you have finished reading most of the book on the shelf?" (Embra)

Sethar tilted her head aside, not understanding, and answered,

"No, I have read it all. I have also read books in your room. And I am almost done with watching 'One Piece' Anime" (Sethar)

"Heh.. that's fast.. wait.... did you just said, all in here and also books in my room?" (Embra)

He was going to praise her that she can read fast but, he realized her words and asked her with almost unbelievable look on his face.

"Yes. I have also watch some short Anime series and almost done with 'One Piece'. I have finished till 'Whole Cake Island' arc to be accurate".

Embra eyes almost jumped out of his eye sockets when he heard Sethar answer like 'It's normal tone'. Looking to his phone, he showed Sethar that only one day or more like one night has passed.

"Huh..? What are you talking about? It is only been a night since you arrive at my apartment right?" (Embra)

Sethar then realized that he did not know about divinity that Keinnayi used last night.

"Ah.. It seems you do not know... Well, it is like this..." (Sethar)

10 minutes later...

"So, it is like that... that's why she said she almost use all her divinity...Oh dear, this mortal is getting dizzy while taking this all in. For now, please help me know you two. Of course, you can omit things you do not want me knowing." (Embra)

Embra hold his head between his hands and feels like he is going to go crazy while listening to numbers calculated by Sethar. So, he ask for Sethar to tell him about them and in the mean time, he is also glad that the Valkyrie is kind enough to answer him back though her tone is still indifferent and not interested, she sound eager when she talks about Angel Keinnayi.

"Hm.. Then, I will start with Lady Keinnayi. Lady Keinnayi is one of the powerful goddess in the Gods Realm and one of the few goddess who can control time and space perfectly and she is also wise. She holds the title of Goddess of Time and Space. And, I am a Valkyrie that serve Lady Keinnayi. That is my whole reason of existence. Did that satisfy you somewhat?" (Sethar)

"Yes. Though I still have a few questions, let's talk that over a drink, shall we? Oh right. By the way, where is Angel, No, Goddess Keinnayi?" (Embra)

Embra pay attention to his words so that he do not appear rude to the young Valkyrie in any way. Of course, there are still many questions he wants answer of but, he do not want to sound like he is interrogating her and more importantly, he knows his place. He realize the fact that he is a powerless normal human while the other parties are powerful Angel and Valkyrie. Embra did not have difficulties in doing so because he is a 'fast thinker' and he did not have a hard time accepting the reality. He knows his priorities and know when to push or when to back off.

And, this situation is one of them because he can read Sethar's expression which seems to point out that she is not interested in talking with him. That's why he swallow his questions and offers her to talk over a drink which he thinks will smooth her mind and be at ease. But, before he go to dining room, he remembers that he has not seen Keinnayi since he get out of bath and so he inquire about her while getting up from the couch.

"Lady Keinnayi has gone to the meet with the gods of this world. She will be back shortly." (Sethar)

"Is that so. Then, let's head to dining room, I will make you some drinks. We will be having breakfast only after Goddess Keinnayi come back, right?" (Embra)

'God of this world? So they are not from this world? Ugh.. Questions are piling up now. But, why does she looks so disinterested in me? Is it because I am a mortal? Is it because she do not like to speak with mortal? Ugh.. THis is the first time I am dealing with non-human. No, this is the first time I am dealing with superpower. Adept to it, Embra.' (Embra's thought)

Embra head towards the dining room while inviting the Valkyrie who is still wearing the aloof expression. After a minute or so of pursuing, Sethar unwillingly follow Embra to dining room. Welcoming him from the corner of the dining room are white big bags and empty bottles of soda, cola and other drinks which fill up the whole corner that it makes the spacious dining room looks small.

'Is it mine? Did I forget to take out trash for a week..? Hm? That's is definitely not mine' (Embra's thought)

When he look closely, he finds big bottle of Cola and become sure that these bags are not his because he do not drink cola. But, he is still confuse about these huge amount of trash bags. He blurt out weakly while sounding confused,

"What in the world..??" (Embra)

While he is assuming in his mind that it can't be these two ladies' work, Sethar, who is behind Embra heard his voice and answers nonchalantly.

"Oh.. that? We ate it last night. You can take care of them." (Sethar)

"What? Did I just heard it right? You two ate it all? There is about twenty, no, thirty people worth of snacks and drinks." (Embra)

"*sigh* Didn't you heard it just a moment ago? Under the time magic that Lady Keinnayi used, a minute can last more than a day. And, if we were to approximately calculate, we spent over one and a half year under the time magic. This amount of food is less in comparison." (Sethar)

Embra feels headache just from hearing her. He collect himself quick and control his emotions. Normally, he would have been pissed if someone that young talk back to him that way but, he has to control his emotions now because he knows he is powerless against them. After calming down, Embra shoved about the talk of time magic to the back of his head and just leave it at that..

"I feel headache just listening to you...hm? Did you create money or hypnotized the store manager to give you these?" (Embra)

Curiously, he ask her how a Valkyrie from the other world go shopping in the modern world. For once, Sethar looks at him from where she is sitting at the dining table and answers seriously. There is even a hint of anger in her voice and unseen pressure on Embra which makes him feel small.

"No, I am not that careless to use my power without caring for consequences. My duty is the safety of Lady Keinnayi. Do you really think I would let anything harm Lady Keinnayi? Moreover, because of my actions? *sigh* I put illusion on my self and pay for bill with your wallet. And, I make sure to erase any trace of magic and my face from cameras. " (Sethar)

'..Oh dear.. did I indirectly insult her loyalty over her lady? .. Whew. what is with this pressure? Yep. Definitely not human. .. Wait. What did she just say about my wallet?' (Embra's thought)

Embra feels himself sweating and trembling a little even though it is still cold in the room because winter is not over yet. Embra is reminded of the difference between him and the young girl sitting in front of him again. But, a word that Sethar said appear in his mind again and so, he ask her carefully not to make her angry again.

"My wallet? You used my wallet to buy these..? " (Embra)

Sethar, who is already annoyed with talking with the mortal, Embra, is fed up and replies sharply at him,

"Yes, what? do you want me to repay? Here it is then , Mr.Stinky " (Sethar)

Sethar form five gold bar in her two hands and slam it down on the dining table but, before she gets up and leave, Embra's words stopped her in her tracks.

"Oh. That's not necessary. I just want to know whether the money in my wallet was enough? I put 42o,ooo Yen there because I need to buy something with cash. You know, you should have ask me. I would've gladly told your my card number too." (Embra)

"..." (Sethar)

'What is the deal with this mortal? Doesn't these gold bars make him greedy for a bit? I sensed him getting anger a little while ago but, this time, he is not angry even though we used his money? What is he thinking? *Che*' (Sethar's thought)

For Sethar, who was never impressed with any of the mortal is speechless for a moment because of Embra's words and his feeling. As a Valkyrie, most of her power lean towards combat and she cannot read minds and memories but, she can at least perceive other person's emotion. She has been constantly checking Embra's emotions without him knowing since he first talked to her. And, she knows about him holding his emotions back in some occasion but, she was not impressed.

But, this time, she is speechless because five shining gold bars could not make him bat an eyelid and moreover, he is not angry with her spending his money on food. For once since coming to the lower world, Sethar takes interest in a mortal.
