9 Chapter 8 - Little Princess

PERSEPHONES POV

I pull on a short black dress and cropped white furry coat. I look at myself in the mirror. I'm kinda fat arent I. . .? I pull the dress down a bit and walk out of my bedroom to show Rosetta ans Cauliflower. I twirl slowly in the dress and jacket showing them everything. Rosetta holds her hands over her mouth while Cauliflower shakes his head and clicks his tongue.

"What, is it bad?!" I say. Maybe the dress is too short. . . or the jacket doesnt go good with it. Rosetta grabs my arm tightly pulling me back into my bedroom.

"Eyes closed. Give me about 30 minutes." She says. I obey closing my eyes. After a bit, I hear a sizzling sound and feel my hair being pulled a bit. After a while, Rosetta gives me the 'ok" for me to open my eyes. I open my eyes as she turns my chair around towards the mirror. My hair is in jumbles curling around in circles over my shoulders. I gently touch it making Rosetta chuckle before pulling me back out of the room. Cauliflower nods his head.

"Much better. Now if you dont mind, I'm going to continue my work." With that he walks out through the back door. My phone begins to ring and Rosetta picks it up looking at who it is.

"OOOoooo, loverrrr boiiiii!" I elbow her gently while feeling heat rise through my face and snatch my phone from her before she is able to answer it. I drag the green button across the screen and put my phone to my ear.

"Hello, this is Persephone." I speak into the phone.

"AND ROSETTA!!!" Rosetta screams making sure the phone picks up. I run into my room closing the door behind me and locking it.

"You ready?" He finally says. I lean my back against the door sighing.

"Uhm, yeah." I reply.

"Good, because im right outside."

"Oh, did I keep you waiting?? Im so sorry!" He chuckles through the phone.

"Nah, just got here."

"Ill be right out!" I say while yanking my door open. Rosetta stumbles from leaning against the door. I press the hang up button and glare at Rosetta.

"You are just so petty." She laughs and nudges me with her arm.

"You know you liiiike him!!!" She says while winking with both eyes.

"You know your just blinking right?" She shakes her head aggressively while crossing her arms.

"No!!! Its called double wink! Now c'mon, You don't wanna keep him waiting any longer!" She shoves me towards the front door opening it and pushing me out.

"Have fun!" She says before slamming the door behind me. I look over at Hades akwardly as he rolls the window down. I take a seat in the passenger seat and buckle myself up.

"That woman is crazy." He says while driving off.

"Hey, thats my friend your talling about!" I say while gently slapping him on the arm. We both laugh.

"I know, because you fit right in with her." Ah! What?!

"I might be crazy, but your insane." He says while smiling at me. His white teeth show and his eyes are soft. The bags under his eyes have only gotten bigger. I feel warm inside while he continue smiling at me. As I feel a smile creep up on my face I quickly look away and point in front of us.

"Eyes on the road!" He chuckles and turns back towards the road. I sigh running my hands through my hair slowly. This is gonna be a long car ride. The rest of the rude we sit in silence. I lean against the door watching all the people and buildings fly past. As we approach his building, this time the people are held back. This gives bad memories. . . I rub my arm gently looking down at my legs.

"Its okay. I handled it for you." Hades says trying to comfort but it just makes it worse.

"Yeah, I caused more work for you." He gently presses his finger under my chin making me look at him.

"Your here to help me with work in the first place. So your just repaying the favor, is that better?" I smile at his touch and gentle words.

"Yes. Thank you."

"Your welcome. Now come on princess, we got some work to get done." I nod my head. He moves his hand to the back of my head and leans closer to me.

"You got a little something. . ." My heart begins to beat quickly. I close my eyes gently waiting. I feel his breath against my face gently. I lean in slowly only to feel his hand move away from the back of my head.

"K-Kore. . ." He says while leaning away from me. I open my eyes to see his shocked face. Shit. . . Shit, shit.

"I-I'm so sorry, I just thought that si-" I'm caught off as I feel soft lips press against mine and a hand wrap around the back of my head. I see Hades eyes closed gently making me melt into the kiss. His lips rub against mine for a few seconds more before I pull back.

"W-what?! W-wait. . ." I say while clutching my hair with my hands.

"I'm so sorry!" He says while looking away.

"Just forget about it." He says while leaving the car. Forget. . .about it?! W-why?! UGH!!! We are talking about this later! I get out of the car slamming it closed behind me. He looks back at me with a blank hollow expression. I glare at him while walking past him into the building. I hear him sigh behind me knowing he is doing his signature move. Brushing his hair back out of his face.

Through the whole tour of his building and explanation of what I would be doing, I couldnt focus. The warmth of his lips leaving made had left a coldness. I gently brush my lips with my finger dazing off into my own world.

"Kore!" I hear a familiar voice yell. I look straight at Hades.

"Were you even listening?" He questions annoyed.

"Yes, I was." His eyebrow peaks up a bit.

"Okay then, what's the last thing I said?" Who does he think I am? Some little kid?!

"You said id be recording down all the lost souls down in these binders in alphabetical order and once 75 people have been put into a binder, I put it in the library and lock the door behind me." He nods his head.

"Correct, now do you know where the library is?" I scoff.

"23rd floor. This one is the 32nd." He nods his head once more.

"I'm not some kid that you have to test for knowledge you just told me."

"Well it didnt seem like you were listening." Are you serious right now?! I scream inside my head.

"Its hard to focus when you just kissed me then said to forget it right after!" All of the sudden, Hades' eyes drift from me to something behind me. His eyelids open widely making me curious enough to turn around.

"You kissed her?" Charmaine says with her hands on her hips. He shakes his head and holds his hands up trying to calm her.

"Its not like that Charm. I promise." He walks up to her and grabs her hands. Such an ass. She looks from him to me.

"So what is this about? Did you kiss him instead?" She says while looking from my shoes to my eyes. Before Hades can talk I giggle.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Is he yours? Didnt know gods were property." Her eyes widen as she clenches her teeth. Hades holds her back from me and the sight just makes a laugh escape my mouth.

"Please stop Kore, your just pissing her off more." I scoff at his statement.

"I'm pissing HER off?" He glares at me and I stand defeated. Here I am causing more issues.

"I think its best if I work from home." I say while grabbing my bag from the desk and walk past Hades and Charmaine leaving the room. She hisses as I pass by and after a bit, I turn around to see her all up on him pressing her lips against his. This is ridiculous. I shake my head heading to the elevator.

"Can you give me a ride home Rose?" I question through my phone while waiting outside on the steps.

"Yeah sure, did something happen? I thought youd be gone longer." Pfft.

"Id rather talk about it when we have more privacy." I say emphasizing all the reporters around me being held back by security guards. A sigh escapes from my mouth.

"Okay. I'm on my way right now. Just sit patiently."

"Not like I can do anything else." With that I hang up and put my phone down next to me. I hear the doors to the building open behind me.

"Princess?" A familiar voice says from behind me.

"Cronus?!" I say while whipping my head around. He smirks.

"The one and only."

"How did you get out?? And why are you in a suit?" I say while laughing and forgetting all my problems from before.

"I was issued a pardon for my crimes as long as I dont cause any problems and stay in the underworld by the close eye of Hades. I work for him now. I'm a messenger!" He says while while flexing and showing off his body in the suit. His light brown hair shines in the sunlight along with his deep red eyes. His canines are sharp and all his top teeth show in his smile. He has caramel skin and a strong build.

"Like my human form though??"

"O-oh, yeah!" I say while smiling and punching him in the arm.

"Hey so, I already got my first pay check and bought a phone. What's your number?" I scoff and place my hand on my hip.

"What makes you think id just give away my number to you?" He smirks and perks one of his eyebrows up.

"Just look at me." He says while putting his arms on the window seal. I let out a loud laugh while clutching my stomach.

"Point for the comedy?" A hurt expression plays across his face suddenly making us both break out laughing. I put my number in his phone and he sends a quick photo of him to make sure I wasnt playing any tricks on him.

"You really are full of yourself, huh?" He shakes his head.

"Who wouldnt be?"

"Okay, you need to stop!" I say while gently shoving him and giggling. I turn around for a second to see Rosetta pulling up.

"Well thats my ride, ill see you soon?" He nods his head walking me down to Rosetta's truck. He opens my door and bows his head.

"Your majesty. . ." He says while motioning the seat in the car. I bow back taking a seat.

"Thank you kind sir." He closes the door and leans through the window.

"Hello madam Rosetta." Her eyes sit wide open staring at him making us both laugh.

"Well, ill see you soon little princess. Have a safe trip." He says before walking off. Rosetta rolls up the windows and right as he is a safe distance away she screams into her hands.

"I thought Hades was hot but him?!?!?! WHO IS THAT?!" A giggle escapes my lips. She just cant help herself, can she?

"Cronus the titan. I met him while my mom locked me in that stupid prison." I see her body shiver as she looks at him entering Hades building.

"Not only is he hot but he is a bad boy too?! I need to start hanging out with you more. Your like a hottie magnet Kore!" I glare over at her making her laugh.

"What? Its true!" I shake my head smiling.

"So, do you wanna talk about what happened or do you wanna wait?" She asks while driving back to her house.

"Ill tell you when we get to the house." She nods her head.

"Okay, no problem." My phone dings and as I lift it, I see a message from Cornus.

You free tomorrow?😏

Depends, why?

Meet me at Le thai Cafe, 12 pm sharp

I laugh at his message before seeing his next one.

Oh no, Hades seems mad, got to go. Ill see you soon princess ✌✌.

I turn off my phone setting it on my lap and lean my head against the window.

"Who was that?" I hesitate before telling her.

"Cronus. . ."

"OH MY GOD!! GIMME HIS NUMBER!!!" She slams on the brakes making me lurch forward. she snatches my phone and sends Cronus' number to herself.

"You are SO gullible Rosetta." I say as she gives my phone back and looks at all of Cronus' recently shared pictures.

By the time we get home its still early in the day. I explain to her what happens and she rages.

"I really hate that stupid girl, and Hades!" She says while crossing her arms. I nod my head in agreement at half of what she said.

"He just lets her control him." My phone suddenly pings. I lift it to see that I received a message.

"Speak of the devil. Literally." She shakes her head in dissapointment and walks out of my room to leave me with my privacy.
